  1. Looking forward to your review. As I posted on another thread, Barbados was a favorite! Adventure '16 had the same itinerary except swapped Antigua for St Croix.
  2. Not sure what you're into - I'm a beach person and Barbados had the best beaches I've ever been to. 4 of us walked from the boat (I wanna say it was about 2 miles, you could take a cab, we just wanted to get exercise) to the beaches. I think we went to the Boatyard. We drank, ate, swam and laid out. Nothing else. It's all we really wanted to do.
  3. I feel like the slow service in the Main Dining room is a thing many people complain of. I know it was an issue for me (Adventure '16) but I quickly learned to get my drink before or have the bottle of wine to bring with me.
  4. Thank you!!! Not sure it'll work for the married couples but it will for some of the others!
  5. This is what's happening with my group. It seems most of them are not getting it since they both would have to. I am but I have a studio room so don't have to worry about anyone else. I've been going back and forth though with whether I'm keeping it.
  6. I think they get away with it by changing the price 'on ship' as well. If the price on the ship keeps changing so does the discount on the cruise planner. That keeps the false advertising claims away. It's just playing with numbers. We know better because we're checking but someone who won't do the research. (not defending - just seeing how they get away with it)
  7. Is room and board included? Still seems low but that is a large chunk.
  8. 2 years ago they did but we all know things change...
  9. If it's what I'm thinking I noticed from my time there that it was mostly 60+. Imma leave that there. Gorgeous beach! (no disrespect to anyone over the age)
  10. The reason I personally get worked up about it was that it wasn't always like that and I'm a rule follower. It's just my nature and I hate having to do ANYTHING because other people didn't follow the rules.
  11. I was able to board with my friend who was Diamond. I was gold and we were sharing a room. I went to stand on regular line and my friend grabbed me and told them I was sharing the room. It makes sense since you're sharing the room.
  12. "and the odd Viagra mishap. UTIs are also frequent, thanks to frisky honeymooners" This cracked me up. Good read!
  13. Nothing to add except do a little research and check out what's extra. Unless you want alcohol or to go on excursions there is no reason to spend any extra (beyond grats if not already paid for and extra grats if you feel inclined) money does not need to spent. If you don't want to book excursions you can taxi to a beach but I'd get recommendations here on where you want to go. The extra stuff is just that, extra. I wish I knew that on my first RC cruise - I was very overwhelmed by the extras. Years later with what I know (and the extra ton I've learned here) I've been able to budget and pick and choose what I want to spend extra on...
  14. Hampton Inn or just Hampton, I don't remember. I was happy with it though.
  15. 100% insane and insensitive in some cases. If you're a Diamond member don't you get 3 free at night? Maybe the drink package isn't worth it for you with the free drinks...just pay as you go?
  16. My two cents - pizza is one of my favorite foods in life. I'm surrounded my good pizza - I live on Long Island, work in NYC - pizza from the surrounding areas is just good and there is a pizza place practically in every shopping center. I know and love the good stuff but DiGiorno's is fun sometimes. Sorrentos - when I had it was fine. I'll put it this way - my mother made the best meatballs in the world. No one comes close...but will I eat frozen questionable meat meatballs? Sure they're meatballs!!! I think I only get super picky with sushi - 'cause tapeworms....
  17. The video just seems that MSC has a very particular market - millenials, Europeans with cash to spend. Nothing wrong with that but I love nice things I'd prefer a more diverse crowd. I wouldn't say that's it's off but it's not marketed for someone like me - over 40's professional from NY.
  18. Royal Caribbean may have their own math system. You missed nothing.
  19. Do it, please. Make sure you take pictures.
  20. I booked on my own and switched to Michelle (MEI) after. I booked 11 months before because that's when the plan was made, I know the schedule was released a while before that. I've also booked cruises last minute (3 weeks before) and have gotten decent deals. There are so many factors involved - do your research and try to stress too much!!!
  21. Not for my 7/7 cruise! A double occupancy room has been $300-500 more since booking in August. I check, obsessively.
