We're doing that a week from tomorrow, getting off Radiance in Vancouver, taking an all day ship excursion that brings us to the airport.  We have an evening flight, so also not concerned about getting there too late.  I'll try to remember to come back and let you know how it went.  If I forget, ping me and I'll get the notification.

Debarking was pretty chaotic.
Self-Assist was supposed to leave 7:30am to 8:00am.  We were tied up at the pier by 7am so I thought we might be early but that was a mistake.
With no announcements most people including myself assumed debarking has commenced so half of the ship and myself headed down to deck 5 at 7:50am.
We weren't leaving yet.  Canada CBSA (their version of CBP) hadn't cleared the ship or made an appearance yet.
I was directed into the theater with three or four hundred others. I did see a crew member with a list of 50 or 60 guests from foreign nations where they were required to handover their passports at the beginning of the cruise.  CBSA finally appeared and commenced dealing with those more exotic guests that required VISAs or other processing. 
Finally closer to 8:40am we were allowed to begin leaving.  That was a slow process with so many guests now jamned onto deck 5.  It was made worse by non-self-assist guests who decided to leave despite not having their luggage tags called.  
Vancouver uses cranes to load and unload given the tidal changes so luggage loading and unloading is very slow.  The problem is now the terminal was clogged with these folks who had another hour or two to wait for their luggage.  They stood around making the line for us self-assist folks very slow moving.  
Much of this mess was at the hands of CBSA but the ship didn't help by not making any announcements.  Hopefully once they remember how to cruise again they'll begin making announcements on future cruises.

We end in Vancouver on May 20...hoping the same thing!

There's never been a fee before when I've docked here.  
Maybe they were thinking Skagway where there is a bus service that does a loop to a few places beyond just "downtown" and the cruise pier.  That service does have a nominal fee.

Near the harbor I spotted some Eagles in the trees so naturally I had to stop and take some photos.






This stop threw off my timing and it started to rain down pretty good.  Fortunately I had my raincoat on but the last five minutes of this walk was pretty miserable.  Totally worth it to get some nice Eagle photos.

Thanks for posting about the internet speed. We're flying out of Vancouver at the end of our southbound in a few weeks and will need to test before we fly. It seems like we may need to schedule tests at the airport instead of relying on the ships internet with an emed test.

When our kids were under 21, the graphics on their seapass cards were different than ours, signifying that they were under 21 to anyone who just glanced at it.

I booked Edge without any perks (not All In) as a solo in an interior at an unbelievable low price.  
I realize The Retreat will be off limits, I will only have Elite beverages, no wifi and I have to pay daily gratuity but I am less than $95 per night.  
 

Welcome to the message boards!  Power strips are not allowed on cruise ships and will be confiscated when you arrive, so stick with a multi-port charger.  What's great about those is that you plug in the USBs into one block, so it's less blocks to lug and everyone's will work with it, no matter what cell phone brand.

But to answer your actual question, I don't have a preferred brand.  The one we have is a couple years old, but if you do a quick search on Amazon you can go through the reviews to see what meets your needs.  You can get one per cabin, and based on how many people are in each cabin get the number of ports required. Depending on which ship you are on, there may already be USB ports in the cabin.  If it's Radiance...most likely not. 😄 

No - besides the garage, there is an outdoor lot that used to be the only parking before the garage.  There is also Celebrity ships that sail from the same port, and the parking is enough to accommodate passengers from the Summit (smaller ship) along with Anthem (larger ship).  So until Celebrity sends Summit back next late spring, there is extra parking.

I have a terrible time getting emails from Royal for some reason.  My suggestion - transfer the booking to a travel agent.  They can dig into your booking and get you a receipt.  Some agencies use their own confirmations which do not detail the discounts, and others just give you the Royal confirmation.  But even the ones that use their own confirmation can break out the details for you.  Plus, the travel agent will do all the waiting on hold for you, at no charge. 😄
