  1. We were on Adventure in May 2018 and there was nothing specific for 18-20 year olds. That can obviously change based on the Activity Manager and Cruise Director changes. On other ships I have seen activities, but it's more of a meet at this place and time to hang out but there is no crew member that facilitates any interaction. It's up to them to recognize others of their age and engage in conversation. Mine are 20 & 22 now, and when they sail with us they prefer doing the adult activities. They hang out everywhere we do, just the younger doesn't drink. I feel for the kids coming from places that allow drinking at 18+. It's really not fair that they have to stop on board. But don't forget in every port they will be legal - so drink as much as they want off ship. LOL
  2. I don't remember internet service ever being free, to be honest. Royal has a service called Voom, that you need to purchase. There are two options, Surf and Surf & Stream. Prices vary based on ship and sailing. If you log into your cruise planner you can see what is available for your Rhapsody sailing.
  3. I do it whenever I feel like it, there truly is no rush.
  4. It's open for some of the December sailings, we're on December 8th. Ours came live a few at a time, so be patient! They will be up soon.
  5. Boy that trip went fast! Safe travels home, and thanks for another amazing live blog!
  6. Wow, that's kinda fun!! I may have to give it a try this weekend. If I find any I'll post the codes for you. ?
  7. All across the fleet, Celebrity is non-smoking in the casino. ?
  8. I usually bring $20-30 in singles, depending on length of cruise, and figure one $5 for each time I plan on using a porter and have an excursion (times 2 of us). Then I add about $40 in tens, depending on how many excursions or taxis we need to take. Rest is in $20s. I do not tip a $1 with every single drink. Many times I'm walking up to the bar, asking for a beer, and walking away. I have my singles for the bars I hang out at all the time, to reward the bartenders that actually make me mixed drinks or something that requires more than handing me a can. LOL
  9. Maybe someone who's done an Australian itinerary can help. @Pippa_OceanTime? I had to look up the port, I've never heard of it.
  10. Your personal cup will not work with the Freestyle beverage machines. You didn't mention which ship you are on, but if it's one with the machines then the chip in the cup activates the machine. You'd have to use that cup to dispense the liquid, them pout it in your own cup.
  11. It will come when it gets closer. Little by little over the next few months, more and more will appear in your Cruise Planner. It's so hard to be patient, I know!
  12. We did not eat dinner in the MDR. As an Aquaclass guest, Blu is considered my main dining room and so I don't have a seating assignment there. We did eat breakfast there one morning, and it was delicious. We also chose not to eat in any of the specialty restaurants since we had already "paid for" Blu. LOL We knew we'd be sailing on Celebrity again, so we thought we'd save the specialty for when we're in regular dining. We had planned on going to Sushi on 5 one afternoon, to get a beer and maybe an app, but honestly never had the time. With three straight sea days you'd think we would, but we were never hungry enough to do it. You're going to have an amazing cruise!
  13. We personally don't spend a cent in the Royal casinos because of the smokers. We also, on some ships, don't patronize certain bars due to their proximity to the smoke smell. We stopped participating in slot pulls as well. We recently sailed on Celebrity and their casinos are all smoke free, the only smoking is out doors. So don't switch to them when you leave Royal, even though they match status. You'll be unhappy there too. Thanks to the non-smoking casino, I made a contribution daily to the Summit casino. Money that Royal will never see. There were plenty of people making sizeable daily contributions, all happy to do so in a clean environment. Also...Celebrity offers free drinks while you are actively playing. ?
  14. If you're looking for someplace just to crash for the night, we stayed at The Best Western Adams Inn. It's in Quincy, just a few minutes from the seaport. https://www.bwadamsinn.com/hotel It's got a pub with food and drink, and sports on the tv. It's got water views and a free shuttle from the airport, and to the cruise port the next day. This spot worked great for us, as we got in late - they sent a to Lyft to the airport for us as the shuttle wasn't available - and it was pouring rain so no sightseeing was to be had. We enjoyed the evening in the pub, and the next morning was off to the port. Less than a mile away is a liquor store if you need to pick up wine to bring on board with you.
  15. It can be! My sister-in-law has a really cool lock screen. It's her oldest son at college, waving and saying "hi" to her, when she holds down the screen. Once she unlocks it, it goes to a picture of her daughter, but the lock screen is super cool.
  16. Ugh I didn't think about differences in night wear. We have one next May, taking our oldest for his college graduation. It's very port-intensive, six port days then one sea day. We're going to be exhausted from all the touring each day. I don't want to come back on the ship and feel like I need to get dressed up. Plus, I'd need to make sure my college-aged boys have enough dressy clothes. I have a feeling we'll end up in the Windjammer most nights...
  17. There are a lot of top elite on your sailing? I thought they were all on Symphony this week...LOL One of my favorite features when we sailed on the Norway way back in the early 90s was that she carried her ow tender boats around with her.
  18. I buy mine from Cruisehabit.com https://shop.cruisehabit.com/collections/cabin-comforts/products/magnetic-hooks-hang-wet-clothes-or-other-items-from-your-ships-stateroom-ceiling Billy @monorailmedic used to sell two different weights, so I have them both, but it looks like he only has the heavier weight ones now. I wouldn't go with cheapy ones, they might not hold up as well. We use them every cruise and love them!
  19. We use a couple different travel agents, depending on which group of friends we're traveling with. The travel agents have the group rates. You'll find the large, online cruise agencies have them a lot. It's not something you can book on your own unless you're booking the 8+ cabins like mentioned above. When Matt has a Blog group cruise, MEI has group rates for those sailings.
  20. Not sure if it's your camera or not, but that looks like a huge room!
  21. It's been in September in the past, hasn't it? I remember reading about a lot of pissed pineapples that had already booked what they expected to be this year's cruise, but in September. Or do I just need more coffee...
