  1. Welcome to the Blog message boards! I don't think you can. But I don't gamble on Royal because of the smoking in the casinos so I don't know what their chips look like. @monorailmedic is on Edge right now. If he sees this, maybe he can ask.
  2. Welcome to the Royal Caribbean Blog! As others have mentioned, Cruise Critic is a different place, so you'd have to ask over there. A suggestion for your next post, put a title that gives us more details on your question. The "????" won't get a lot of views as it doesn't tell people what information you are looking for, so it will get ignored.
  3. Oh I do, I'm a seasoned RCCL cruiser. That's why I know the prices have been lower. LOL
  4. My husband wears a tie to work everyday, so he doesn't want to wear one on vacation. He'll be in a button down shirt and dress pants.
  5. See you December 8th! @Matt we need to start a "Photos with Chris Wong" thread. Everyone who sails Oasis must seek him out and get a picture! LOL
  6. All I see for my December 8th sailing is higher prices. UDP up from $175 to $199, and DX from lowest of $49 to $52. Not a sale for me! LOL I did look at my 2020 sailings and nothing worth booking there either.
  7. Agree it's a different system. But people who sailed on a 3 night sailing got 7 cruise points in the transition - where I cruised 10 nights and got the same 7. I could've done two 3 nights & a 4 night and got 21 points for the same number of nights with the transition math. But at this point, I really do not care. I was annoyed back then, and now don't give two hoots about my "status."
  8. I'd have to go back to my cabin tour periscope to be sure, but I'm 90% sure that we had a chiller in the cabin on Grandeur. We had an aft-facing balcony. It was tough to fit our plates of cheese and meats (afternoon balcony snacks to go with our wine, books, and naps) but we managed. I've brought ziplocs too, but found that the snacks didn't last long enough to warrant carrying them with us.
  9. You won't find nuts on the ships anywhere, I've looked. We're plant-based, and use nuts as a heavy source of protein. I did see walnuts on a recent Celebrity sailing - I was very excited!! There are places to score "snacks" you just have to look for them. Lunch in the Park Cafe/Solarium Cafe you'll often find bagged potato chips at the salad station. In the mornings, look at the museli/omelet area in the Windjammer, you'll find dried fruits. In the evenings in the windjammer, there is a sundae station with hard ice cream - you'll often find chocolate chips. The trick is to find what you like, and make a bowl/plate and bring it back to your cabin for later. You can put together some great options if you're vigilant. ?
  10. Best stateroom attendant we ever had, in 27 years of cruising, was on Grandeur.
  11. We had a wonderful, relaxing week on Lady G earlier this year, you'll have a great time. I wouldn't worry too much about the crew, as they are on contract and I highly doubt they can just leave. The ship is around for a while, so there will be many contract changes throughout the next few months. I'm curious what is happening with John and Katrina when Grandeur is gone.
  12. Sorry to hear that, I've always got a live person when I've called their direct number. ?
  13. Sorry to hear about the shower problem. Unfortunately this is a fan board, not Royal Caribbean itself, so unfortunately not able to help. Good luck!
  14. @RWDW1204 wow you're good! I'm stuck on Norway - of course, the one you haven't done yet. I refused to switch to another until I found it. Please post when you do, so I can kick myself for not seeing it. I swear I've been all over the picture!
  15. I have only been on Summit, so can only speak to that. There was no cups given, nor were there Freecycle-type machines. If a soda was wanted, we just asked at a bar or during dinner. Summit was revolutionized at the time, so I know it wasn't because the ship was old, LOL. Maybe someone else can address other ships/classes.
  16. My husband likes to do it on every ship, as each one is slightly different. I think he's done 5 at this point.
  17. I know each ship is different with the activities and entertainment, but our sailing was never dead in the evenings. There was always something going on.
  18. All the cruise lines had the same issue with the ports being closed, and having to modify their itineraries for the hurricane. They all do their best but when Mother Nature decides she doesn't want anyone cruising, she makes her feelings known. So what did you expect Royal to do? Move your 4-day over a couple days, then move the cruise after yours by those same two days, and so on so no one has to shorten their cruise? So if that's the case we'd be making up those two days for the rest of the released itineraries. You can't re-route when you can't get to the port. If this is truly an issue for you, then you need to consider cruising during the calmer times of the year. Things happen at ports all the time. We were delayed returning to Tampa in February because of fog. Couldn't get to the port, and thus the next sailing couldn't get on. When the port says you can't come in, you can't come in. That's it.
  19. You're going to get a lot of different answers here. It's a very subjective question. I think you have to think about what's best for you. Are you prone to motion sickness? Then you want mid-ship. Do you want to be closer to the dining rooms, theaters and evening activities? Then look at the lower decks. Are you a pool nut or love the buffet? Then you may want to be closer to the higher decks. Do you have mobility issues? Then you want to look near an elevator. If you look at pricing, the cabins within each category that have higher prices, tend to be the more sought after thus deemed "better" locations.
  20. @CruisingKat(Kathy) makes the best!
  21. Okay I've been working on Norway for an hour. This is so frustrating yet addicting at the same time.
  22. We're going to give it a try on Oasis next month. Not sure about it, as BBQ is not all created equal, depending on where you are from. Not that we are experts on all things BBQ...but we know what we like. ?
