  1. I put a deposit down last weekend on a replacement cruise in anticipation of these new cancellations. Already transferred it to Sharla at MEI. I had a few questions regarding the 125% FCC and 125% OBC for cruise planner purchases and Sharla got back to me within an hour. Great service! Have been very happy with MEI and Sharla.
  2. I put a deposit down on a replacement cruise several days ago anticipating this cancellation. Can you not go ahead and put a deposit down then use your FCC for the balance. I also chose the 125% OBC for cruise planner purchases. As soon as it shows up, I’ll use it to book my drink package, dining etc.
  3. Agree with twangster. Our paid fares are likely being used to refund this last group of cruises or sitting earning interest. Why let go of money before they have to? They are not going to cancel until the last possible moment.
  4. Our beaches in north Florida have been closed. Since the lockdown in NY, Florida has had a huge influx of people from NY and NJ who are “escaping” the lockdown. Yesterday we had 192 direct flights to FL from NY/NJ. That’s a lot of people in a time where we are told not to travel. We have a very large elderly population. We are trying to protect our health system for our state’s citizens. If we continue to take in “refugees” from other states and we’re predicted to be the next epicenter, Florida is not going to be able to handle it. College spring break started here 3 weeks ago before any of the hysteria started. 2 weeks ago the state began taking some action and this past week many beaches are now closed. Unfortunately most spring breakers left the state so who knows where they may have taken the virus. Last I heard 4 spring breakers have tested positive.
  5. Have been on Oasis 3 times. Currently booked on Symphony for May. I just love Oasis class. Started on Song of America and have sailed several RC ships and Oasis I just live. Trying Odyssey October 2021. It’ll be my first Quantum class.
  6. I’m on the pool deck already with a Lime-a-Rita!
  7. Y’all ready for a cruise this week? Abe Hughes (Cruise Director on Oasis) is doing a virtual cruise so jump on board! Here’s today’s cruise compass. I’ll post the link to his Facebook so you won’t miss out this week! https://m.facebook.com/cruisedirectorabehughes/
  8. Pretty sure these are automatically generated. I got ours for our May 2 Symphony a few days ago.
  9. I heard that RC is starting to send crew home until the end of July. Chris Wong’s vlog on YouTube and someone in a Symphony group on Facebook knows 2 crew members on Oasis that also have said this. I just put a deposit down on an October Symphony in the event my May 2 Symphony gets cancelled which I’m expecting it to be at this point. Anyone else hear this?
  10. 3 1/2 years NED (no evidence of disease). Our May Symphony is to celebrate as we’ve done the past 3 1/2 years. Hopefully our Italy/Greece cruise on Odyssey in October of 2021 will be celebrated official Remission
  11. Being a stage 4b cancer survivor, I adopted stringent personal protocols when I was in treatment that stay with me today. I avoid the Windjammer as much as I can. I take a lot of supplements for my immune system as well. Don’t touch handrails or elevator buttons. Wash hands a lot.
  12. I’m still optimistic my May 2 Symphony will happen! ?
  13. So I spoke with a friend this morning that was the former Director of Hotels on Oasis. I asked if he’d heard anything about RCCL shutting down. His response: I dont think Royal will at this point but you never know. They laid off some contractors today but other projects like dry dock for Allure still happening. Things will get dicey at the end of the month when ships are due to reposition to Med and Alaska. I think Princess had to as they have had 5 ships impacted and did not stop crew from moving amongst fleet. If I hear anything I will let you know.
  14. I have some “insider” info from a former high up officer with RCCL. I asked if he thought Royal would follow Princess: I dont think Royal will at this point but you never know.
  15. I haven’t been lucky scoring an upgrade but we booked 14 months out. We’re in a junior suite so moving up at no charge is highly unlikely but my T/A was checking anyways. congrats to all of that have though!
  16. Response from CLIA: https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/22551-clia-responds-to-report-that-u-s-may-discourage-cruise-vacations.html
  17. Apparently MSNBC was reporting the possibility of all cruises cancelled for next month. That the government would bail them out. I’m not a fan of MSNBC so we shall see after Pence meets with the heads of the cruise lines this weekend in Ft Lauderdale
  18. Now this would be awful: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-cruiseships-exclus/exclusive-u-s-considering-discouraging-some-travelers-from-cruises-sources-idUSKBN20T29M
  19. This is great news! Still planning to embark on our May 2 Symphony but this takes a lot of stress off in the event this virus really takes off.
  20. Just read in a group on Facebook that Vision was refused to port in St Lucia today. Jamaica and Grand Cayman refused an MSC ship and Carnival bypassed both and went to Cozumel. My May Symphony may end up being Labadee and CocoCay with 4 sea days.
  21. This is the 5th person I’ve heard that had the shot and came down with Type A. Our neighbor got the shot, got Type A and missed work for 2 weeks and the 3rd week could only work 1/2 days. Type A is a real stinker this year.
  22. I don’t envy you making this decision. Because of where it is, I’d be a little concerned. Personally I’d wait right up until final payment and then make the decision. Just read somewhere else that someone’s Rhapsody (or maybe Vision) our of Venice has had their final payment date extended. We’re booked on Odyssey for Italy/Greece October 2021 so very thankful I’m very far out for that one.
