  1. Broward and Miami-Dade just moved to Phase 2 this past Monday. I would think they’ll have to be at least in Phase 3 if not Phase 4 before cruises can go out of Port Everglades or Port Miami. As far as how soon can the ships be ready? I would think 4-6 weeks if not 2 months.
  2. Nope. Had to come here to see if someone answered. I’m just a ship lost at sea.....
  3. Ummmm....where can I find notifications on iPhone. (Please don’t be right in front of my face ?) Maybe once someone answers it’ll appear somewhere! Lol
  4. We already have to wear masks everywhere already at home. I REALLY need a break from my farm! Farm work is killing me! I need to sit for long periods sipping fruity drinks and not have to cook. I’d rather do it on a cruise ship than at a Holiday Inn
  5. I too saw in a Facebook group that crew from navigator were being called in. This happened over the summer too. One of the shop employees was told to report to oasis and entertainers were given ships to report to. Then more cancellations ?
  6. https://www.portexplore.me/newblog/2020/9/3/the-6-ways-that-msc-are-saving-the-cruise-industry?fbclid=IwAR2vL7sY09DdaCerOt5ldMPjCF0TxP108QXk4_MWQ_en_Evg-WKWiZsERO8
  7. I’ll let you know as I’m on Odyssey October 2021 Italy/Greece. I was stoked it wasn’t an “old” ship! Lol
  8. I’m in a Mediterranean Cruise tips group on Facebook and there was a recent post on this. Several chimes in about Air2Sea and how flexible it is. Some were saying they picked the flights they wanted then called Royal and had them price the flights. I always thought you were at the mercy of Royal to pick your flights but apparently that isn’t the case. This is one reason I went with MEI (Sharla) for our October 2021 Odyssey Italy/Greece. We have a group of 4 couples so it’ll be like herding cats. She said we can start looking about 300 days out.
  9. Look under transportation in Royal’s website for Air2Sea.
  10. I don’t know about the actual drop off scenario but I would imagine the luggage will go through a disinfecting process before being loaded on the ship. If you read some of the other cruise lines protocols, they mention the luggage being disinfected.
  11. It depends on what you want. It’s likely not sailing (Port Canaveral projecting no cruises until January 2021: see article in news and rumors). If your deposit is non refundable, I’d probably pay and wait for them to cancel. At that point you can get full refund or the 125% credit. If your deposit is refundable, I’d probably go ahead and cancel and get the deposit back. Of course there is always Lift and Shift which to me is a great deal! You just have to wait another year.
  12. Well my guess would be Mariner. RC has said all along the short Bahamas cruises would probably be first. Second quarter would hopefully add Harmony. My main interest is what is Miami going to do? I’ve got a May Symphony that is replacing my canceled October Symphony which replaced my May 2020 Symphony. Hoping 3rd times a charm!
  13. But @monctonguy said 2-3 years of restrictions. Ouch! So maybe May 2022 is safe?
  14. How is anyone going to cruise to Alaska from the US? Dang Canadians! ? Actually it’s our stupid law requiring a foreign port. ? Not sure I should get my hopes up for a 2022 Alaska.
  15. Hmmmm I wonder if priority boarding is no longer?
  16. I just read this. Group of French passengers denied after one tested positive before embarkation. All 13 in the group were denied because they arrived in the same mini bus in Genoa. https://www.trvltrend.com/cruise/denied-boarding-to-msc-grandiosa/
  17. Has anyone heard news yet? I read on a Facebook group they had no cases of the virus. No link was given though.
  18. Well this is something NEW! I had an October 17 on Symphony canceled and check in was normal. Got a noon boarding time. So this 2:30 thing definitely is different. What are y’all’s C&A status, suite or Key? I’m wondering if 2:30 is suites, Key and Diamond and up boarding time.
  19. It’s on Hallmark right now. Sounds so silly but man, it hurts. ? Chops, Central Park, Boardwalk. Goofy acting but I’m only watching to see the ship. I’m afraid I’ll burst into tears when I get to board again. I’ll be the one crying at embarkation next May lol.
  20. What I like so much about @Matt is he’s not scrambling to be the first to report. He patiently waits to be sure the news is true before reporting. What a novel idea! Something our media in the US has forgotten. Thanks Matt!
  21. I’ve got Sharla at MEI working on mine for May and October. I’ve got over $500 in premiums between the 2 canceled cruises. Honestly it’d be robbery if these companies kept premiums on an event that never happened.
  22. I don’t have a problem with getting tested. My issue would be false positives. I would assume if you test positive they would offer a retest a short time later. Would be so disappointing to travel all that way and then be denied. I can understand testing before boarding. RC can claim all passengers at embarkation were virus free. Sure someone could become symptomatic the next day but to find positive cases beforehand is due diligence on behalf of the cruise line. They are trying to insure the most possibly safe environment they can. One last concern is what about the people who were close in line with a positive case? What happens to those people? So many questions.......
