  2. We've always used passports. No need to bring birth certificates along. In general for cruising, while you don't necessarily need a passport to go on a cruise that starts and ends in the US, it's good to have one just in case if you're stopping anywhere out of the country.
  3. Not at all. For whatever reason you can book the aqua show as many times as you want on Wonder. Also, you can easily walk in to any aqua show via the standby line so don't feel like your only options are the two that happened to open back up. See above.
  4. Today
  5. Usually you can’t reserve the same show twice! Did you get confirmations on the bookings? I have no input regarding your question)
  6. Please be aware that if you are placed near the front of the ship it’s lots of walking to get to the windjammer and main dining room-lots of walking-may not bode well with tired 2,3 year olds or adults!. Also stinks if you forget something in the cabin and have to go all the way back to the cabin to get it! Central Park balcony can be quiet but not if you are the deck or two below the pool deck. If the littles are trying to nap there’s a possibility the DJ will be doing their loud music. Many have discussed how noisy that is. keep an eye on your pricing for rate drops. You may be able to reprice your cabin for a lower rate. Also check your app frequently to see if you receive an assigned cabin. I did a GTY neighborhood balcony for August and was assigned a cabin within a week (this was 2 months ago), I was able to call and have our cabin location changed to something more desirable for me (dealt with deck #-not switching off a neighborhood category)
  7. There were no gulls my first 2 times, I thought the flying kites stopped them. My 3rd time-they were there. It was rainy, so unsure if they became swooping vultures for food as the population was less due to the rain.
  8. The Oasis of the Seas group cruise is October 5, 2025. It is a 7 night Eastern Caribbean from Ft.Lauderdale. If you have an MEI agent reach out to them for pricing. If you do not I am more than happy to help.
  9. Just completed Alaska cruise. You can drop your luggage and go. There is a free shuttle (tips appreciated) that leaves from the port and has about 12 drop off/pick up locations. I believe yours would be #9 or #10. We drove past many stops without stopping, due to no need. Shuttle takes about 30 minutes to complete the loop. There is more than 1 shuttle.
  10. I just looked and I can keep my XB GTY and save $300, or move to a room I pick for the same price I currently have. Decisions, decisions...
  11. I thought exactly the same thing. They rode the wave (pun intended). Now to figure out : economy, cutbacks and they lost their loyal customers who no longer saw the value for the “new way”, or some other cause?
  12. It is my understanding that gratuities can be removed at guest services. You can then tip in cash to your desired level (room steward, wait staff, bar tenders etc). Not saying you should just that it's possible. I believe tipping is an individual choice.
  13. Rates are per person based on services provided- If it’s a matter that you are paying for your children/grandchildren and are attempting to cost cut perhaps consider asking each child to pay their share of gratuity-the trip is still a bargain. My MIL was very generous providing cruise fare to us (14 total) and let us know up front which expenses would be on us. if you are still in the mind to cut back on gratuity (salary) for the staff contact whomever you booked with and make the inquiry as to how to do that.
  14. I haven't seen any official announcement outside of the Insiders subscribers yet. There's a Roll Call for it, but no revealed date. I can update the Roll Call with the dates as soon as I see the Events page update or @Matt gives the OK! If you already have an MEI agent, you may be able to ask them for a rate quote and get the dates that way, too.
  15. Same. But I also prefer that those that are working hard to provide me with services get compensated appropriately, so I oblige and pay gratuities.
  16. You can move people pre cruise, however you must 1. keep one original booked person in each cabin 2. not move the person who may have caused a discount on that cabin (55+, military, resident location etc) 3 not place under 21 in a cabin on their own if the cabin is not located directly adjoining or across from the party traveling with them that is 21+ or you can wait until you board and go to guest services and ask to move people around and get new room keys. I did this for my 4 cabins and handed over a list of movement. It was so much easier than doing this verbally Ex. cabin 1234 Joe A to cabin 5678 cabin 5678 Mary B to cabin 9012 cabin 9012 Frank B to cabin 1234 etc. If credit cards are not linked to names and need to be do that when you do this, save yourselves another trip to guest services. Each person should check their account has their credit card attached. When they moved me on my last sailing they somehow knocked my account off the system (this never happened before)
  17. If not for billing purposes, it doesn't matter where anyone sleeps. Mix and match all you'd like, you don't need permission.
  18. So, you have more than 2 people in each cabin but you "prefer" to pay gratuities for just 2 per cabin? I mean I would prefer that too, but gratuities are based on a per person rate, not a per room rate.
  19. My husband and I are taking children and grandchildren (15 total) on an Alaskan cruise. At the current rate that would be $1,890 in gratuities. We have 4 cabins. I would prefer to pay per cabin at the rate of 2 adults per cabin. How can I adjust the gratuities?
  20. Care to elaborate what the frivolous charges were?
  21. Thank you all for replying. Unfortunately Australia is not a country that lets you go through customs before boarding. thanks for that link @DunkelBierJay
  22. Connecting internationally into a major airport I wouldn't want less than 2 hours. Now if the airline lets you book a shorter layover, then theoretically that's enough time. But customs lines can get backed up for no good reason plus some airports (I'm looking at you Chicago) it feels like you walk 5 miles to get to the customs area once you deplane.
  23. There are some airports outside the US that have pre-clearance. It's worth checking to see if it's available from your origin airport. I went through it flying from Ireland to ORD and it was like a domestic flight and there were no connection or bag transfer issues. https://www.cbp.gov/travel/preclearance
  24. Is this to better align billing? Or is just a matter of where people want to sleep?
