KarenP
I am reading a lot of complaints about them being very hard and uncomfortable. Are they really that bad?
Matt
In my experience, they're fine. I usually sleep quite well on RC beds.
JLMoran
I only have one sailing to judge by, but we found the mattresses on Freedom to be totally fine and we all slept really well.
Lovetocruise2002
I have never had a problem on beds on board. I feel that they are very comfortable. Or maybe I just sleep well on vacation because I know that I have no chores to do Floski
ellcee
Never had a problem until Harmony. I like a very firm mattress (I have a bad back and need it) but this one hurt - I told my stateroom attendant and he put a mattress pad on immediately and I was very happy. Anzo
We experienced very firm mattresses on Allure. Asked for some extra padding and the attendant arranged for a thin cover on the bed. This was better but maybe not perfect for my wife who has back issues. I suggest you ask your attendant about it and tell them what you like, they of course aim to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
DirktheCat
My husband is a stomach sleeper and found the beds on Allure firm. I had no problem with them.

Are they really that bad? It all depends, do you like soft or hard mattress? The RC mattresses are very hard, if you're not used to it it could be uncomfortable for you. Some people reports having a pad or something similar put on by their cabin attendant, others have bought one and brought it on board. WAAAYTOOO
We are on Liberty this week in an Owners Suite and the bed is VERY hard. I am going to ask my attendant to place some duvets on top of the mattress and hopefully it wii help.
