nbcruises Posted March 5 Report Posted March 5 Does anybody have updates on sailings out of Baltimore now that grandeur is shown to be porting out of Tampa beginning fall of 26? Quote
smokeybandit Posted March 5 Report Posted March 5 It is a good question since any ship that could serve Baltimore is already assigned elsewhere after October 2026. Quote
VC22 Posted March 5 Report Posted March 5 I wonder if they have been secretly working on the discovery class and maybe are primed for a big surprise? Quote
Austin Posted March 5 Report Posted March 5 Maybe Vision? All the other ship itineraries are posted now. never mind, Ft Lauderdale. Looks like Baltimore is out of luck for winter season. Quote
smokeybandit Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 There was a post on one of the RC facebook groups claiming that Baltimore will now be a summer seasonal port, claiming RC not wanting to do EPA ship modifications to keep a Vision class ship legal for the bay. VC22 and RCIfan1912 1 1 Quote
TJP Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 This will definitely limit our future cruising. Living 30 minutes from the Port of Baltimore, the majority of our cruises have been out of this port. With the prices of cruises out of Florida (and the limited itineraries), then adding on flights and hotels, the cost is outside of our comfort zone. We are cruising out of Baltimore in May, and the next one that we have booked isn't until 2027, out of Bayonne. Zeashore, PhillyLady and WAAAYTOOO 1 2 Quote

Did one sailing out of Baltimore last year, and while we enjoyed ourself on Vision, I think I like a little bigger ship. Have done Oasis Class, Voyager Class, Vision class, and Quantum Class - doing Freedom Class this summer (Liberty). so will see what I feel about that. I am NOT interested in Icon class - not unless they can sail out of Bayonne (don't want to fly) AND are at least 7 days - that's my minimum, and I really prefer longer than that TJP, PhillyLady and CruiseRoyalDad 3 Quote

Never once thought about sailing out of Baltimore. Then we moved, and kicked ourselves for why we never did. TJP and PhillyLady 2 Quote

PhillyLady Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 As an East coast resident, I have sailed out of ports from NY to Miami for decades. Baltimore has always been a very easy drive - leave in the AM, on the ship for lunch, ample open parking. The only stress was dealing with I-95 traffic. Yes, the ships were smaller and the itinerary was usually the same (Bahamas, Florida). The one thing I will say is that sailing out of the Northern East coast in Winter is COLD. Well, I am 100% not a huge fan of NCL, but their cruises are supposed to start out of Philly in April 2026. It might be fun to see what it it like to just take a local train or a short drive and be on a cruise ship, rather than a multi-hour drive, or a long flight. In the meantime there is always NJ (and NY)! Well, I'm sailing RC out of Tampa next month--IMO one of the easiest FL ports. I need some hot weather (smile). Zeashore 1 Quote
Southern Dan Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Isn’t the NCL Jewel or Jade supposed to be sailing out of Philly? Those are the only two NCL ships I’ve sailed on. They are sister ships and although both are a little older they are very well maintained. Check it out, I’m sure you’ll appreciate a lil variety and have a good time! TJP 1 Quote
dodgestang Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 <Inappropriate joke on> Maybe they'll bring in an icon class, I heard they can fit now <inappropriate joke off> Quote

smokeybandit Posted April 7 Report Posted April 7 "In Baltimore, the cruise line has decided to boost capacity by basing a larger ship at the port. Currently, the 2,124-guest Carnival Pride serves the port. The Spirit-class ship in 2027 will be replaced by an as-yet-unidentified Conquest-class ship that can accommodate 1,000 more guests." Interesting, since Conquest ships are 208 feet high. https://www.cruisehive.com/carnival-cruise-line-details-big-plan-for-three-us-homeports/168390 RCIfan1912 1 Quote
