Cactus527 Posted July 1, 2023 Report Posted July 1, 2023 RC just cancelled our excursion in Cozumel 16 days out. Beyond the fact that I am livid after reserving this 9 months ago and paying Black Friday prices for it, I'm hoping that someone will have some suggestions for an excursion (RC or not) that would be appealing to teens. We are already doing a full beach day in Roatan just a few days earlier, so maybe not the exact same thing? Any thoughts are appreciated! Quote
OCSC Mike Posted July 1, 2023 Report Posted July 1, 2023 I don't have any specific excursions in mind that's not a beach club. We swam with dolphins and spent time in Chankanaab if that's of interest. Had a good time but it was mostly b/c my wife wanted to swim with dolphins. My general suggestion is to search TripAdvisor (perhaps with the kids) and see if anything jumps out. Cactus527 1 Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted July 1, 2023 Report Posted July 1, 2023 I concur with swimming with the dolphins. We did this in COZ and had a great time. It could get pricey though. OCSC Mike and Cactus527 2 Quote
melmar02 Posted July 1, 2023 Report Posted July 1, 2023 Shoreexcursionsgroup.com offers Amazing Cozumel Race. We haven't done that one, but our 14 and 11 year olds are interested so we're considering it for November. Our kids also love Paradise Beach. Cactus527 1 Quote
Ryan79 Posted July 1, 2023 Report Posted July 1, 2023 We did the underground cenote excursion that is basically half cave hiking and half cave swimming. My teenage boys had a blast! Cactus527 and ChessE4 2 Quote

Paradise Beach was fun for my teens as well - they enjoyed the inflatables two years ago. This past year, we did ATVs at Ecoparque Cuzam where there is also a zipline. My son loved the ATVs but my daughter didn't. They have paintball there as well (and a small pool) but it is real, hard paintball, not the airsoft ones. I think there also exists an ATV excursion that goes to a cenote but I'm not sure who the operator is... I also like to look at Viator for excursion ideas where you can see rating and read reviews. ChessE4 Posted July 1, 2023 Report Posted July 1, 2023 The Amazing Secret River is a walk/ swim through cavern. Requires ferry ride. My son enjoyed horseback riding on Cozumel Island. Cactus527 1 Quote
Cactus527 Posted July 3, 2023 Author Report Posted July 3, 2023 Thanks so much, everyone! Lots of ideas to research now. Quote

Lots of adventure if that’s something they would be into. Zipline, caves, etc Cactus527 1 Quote

Swap out the beach day in Honduras for something else and go with a beach club in Cozumel. You really can’t go wrong with a beach club in Cozumel especially for teenagers. Cactus527 1 Quote
teddy Posted July 11, 2023 Report Posted July 11, 2023 How old? ATV tours are always fun but there's a minimum age of 16 to drive I believe. A lot of places have two person ones if needed or desired. Quote

I would agree with this - there are a ton of other things to do in Roatan (ziplines, animal visits, snorkeling) that I might consider switching too if I were in your shoes. Cactus527 1 Quote

They wouldn't commit ahead of time, but when we got there, he showed that he could handle it (he was tall enough and he's a fairly skilled mountain biker so had the maneuvering skills) so they let him do it on his own. He had a BLAST. He really enjoyed fishtailing on the curves when we were on the flat part, out of the jungle - I didn't enjoy it because I was behind him and he kicked up a TON of dust. teddy and Cactus527 2 Quote
