Pattycruise
This topic comes up at the end of the casino year (March 31). “What happens with points? Do they all stay in March if the cruise begins s in March but ends in April?”- that is what happened last year. Or Do the points split? Points earned through March 31 stay in that casino year and points earned on April 1 forward, on the same cruise will go to the new casino year. THIS IS HAPPENING this year. Lots of people on Radiance 10 day which began yesterday-March 27-trying to get their points to hit Prime, etc. the casino host confirmed they will be splitting the points earned on this sailing-with the extra work at midnight on March 31. I find this interesting since Royal can’t get simple things done correctly. People on this cruise are fortunate to have at least 5 days in this casino year to achieve their goal. Snotarni
Was wondering the same thing; we're on a 3-day this weekend... We are Prime, so won't gamble on Friday (31st) and assume that on Saturday, we're starting from 0. We'll confirm it with our host, but thanks for the info! That's a big surprise. I have always understood that a cruise beginning in March would reflect on the "old" year. Must be something new - or else the casino host didn't know what she was talking about... WAYNO and CruiseGus 1
Ampurp85
I will be honest, the casino host I have encountered this year tend to leave a lot to be desired. Last year I was told that if the majority of the cruise ended before March 31st, it counted for only the current year. Now they are saying it will split, which makes sense for longer cruises like a 10N. But I would still take this with a grain of salt. Yes, I was on a cruise last year that began in March and ended in April, all points went to March. People stayed out of the casino in March thinking their points earned April 1 on that cruise would go to the new year. WAAAYTOOO

Hoppy2BHere
Just in case anyone is still wondering how this worked out… We were on Indy over the crossover weekend. All our points stayed on last year. We are both reset to 0 again for the new year… We did make it a point for my wife to get the 260ish points she needed for prime on Friday (31st) just in case. We played plenty more after that with her actually having a nice hand pay, so losing those points weren’t too bad… J&S KristiZ and WAAAYTOOO

I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes a week or two more to get it straightened out. I did confirm my points earned with the host while onboard from the March portion of my sailing to the April portion and I’ll be keeping an eye on the situation. deButler and Snotarni

I was on that Indy "straddle" cruise too... I'm going this weekend so I'll check with the Casino Manager to confirm... (I'll be disappointed as I got a bunch of points on 4/1 and 4/2... ) WAAAYTOOO
Pattycruise
I read, rumor, that once club Royale is done with the tier cruises they’ll add casino points. Interesting if that’s true. I have a friend that finished earning prime her first 1/2 of our sailing and then earned prime for the new casino year on the second half of the sailing (starting April 1). KevinK
Someone in a facebook group posted the split points didn't happen. All the points went to the previous year. WAAAYTOOO

With Royal's IT prowess (or not) that would have been a nightmare. DoomSlayer

The straddler cruise which earned points on a cruise that started in the old casino year and then was supposed to have the new casino year points calculated for April 1 forward to go to the new casino year. Supposedly the club royale will place the points where they belong after they are done with the updates for the Tier reset for the new casino year-making everyone zero and then the emails/bookings for the free annual cruise. I'll be watching, I have a number of points that are supposed to go to the new casino year. Cruise began March 27 and ended April 6. Pattycruise
My "straddle" cruise-which started March 27 and ended April 6 has had the appropriate earned casino points- earned for the April 1-April 6 portion of my sailing added to my Club Royale account. Snotarni
Yeah, the "straddle-split" appeared to work... My 4/1 and 4/2 points were recorded on this year's Tier progress. WAAAYTOOO and Pattycruise
