gi333 Posted January 26, 2023 Report Posted January 26, 2023 Hi. I know royal Caribbean offers transfer to Florida mall but i know there is also premium outlets in Orlando. By experience i know that outlets have better deal . Have anyone done it with cab or Uber? Thanks Quote
Matt Posted January 27, 2023 Report Posted January 27, 2023 As someone that lives in Orlando, it’s pretty easy to do get an Uber to anywhere in Orlando from the port Quote
gi333 Posted January 27, 2023 Author Report Posted January 27, 2023 Is space Kennedy worth it for docking from 1 to 9? It closes at 5. It's my bucket list to visit that place but I have a feeling that you pay alot for half a day lost. Space Kennedy Is A place that you should take All day to visit. Am I right? Quote
Leroyr55 Posted January 27, 2023 Report Posted January 27, 2023 That’s the reason I hesitate at taking a cruise out of port liberty in New Jersey. I don’t understand that port of call. Why do I want to leave a port in New Jersey (2 hr drive from home) just to stop in Florida. Seems like a real waste of time since I’m already in Florida probably twice a year visiting daughter. Quote

When we sailed from Baltimore we enjoyed just going to the beach, shopping at dinosaur store, lunching in restaurants, visiting Cocoa Beach Village, or taking Banana River wildlife excursion. Depends in part on weather. teddy 1 Quote
gi333 Posted January 27, 2023 Author Report Posted January 27, 2023 The Florida mall is around 50 minutes drive. Royal offers transfers to that mall. Anyone has done premium outlets instead with Uber or cab ? It's the same distance and better deals. Quote
gi333 Posted January 27, 2023 Author Report Posted January 27, 2023 Is a car rental possible to return the same day? I arrive at Port at 1pm and depart 9pm Any car rental close by with good price? Im starting to think that it would be cheaper this way then to use Uber to go around. Quote
FoxboroCruiser Posted January 28, 2023 Report Posted January 28, 2023 We did Kennedy Space Center in our Anthem cruise from Port Liberty last year and it was the highlight of the entire cruise. IMHO 4 hours there is still worth the price. Quote

After all the wet and heavy snow I had to plow this past week and the subzero stretch that’s coming, I’ll take the stops in Florida when we go on Anthem in 7 days. gi333 Posted January 28, 2023 Author Report Posted January 28, 2023 Can anyone recommend a car rental company for the day? We are scheduled to be in port Canaveral aug 16 and that's A Wednesday and enterprise is supposed to be closed. Is Avis good? Quote

They have a shuttle from the port to the rental car place, but it can get crowded and backed up with everyone trying to get cars all at once. You need to reserve in advance as they will run out of vehicles. The Avis location is further out compared to Budget or Enterprise. I have found when dealing with rental cars and cruising it is worth it for me to get off the ship by myself as early as possible and hop a rideshare (Uber/Lyft) to get down to the rental car pickup. I tend to beat the crowd and it's worth the extra $ for the rideshare. I then drive back and pick up the rest of my party. Quote

gi333 Posted January 28, 2023 Author Report Posted January 28, 2023 Ya the problem is that arrival at Port Canaveral is for 1 pm. Space Kennedy closes at 5. By the time you get there it's probably 1 30 - 2. You see what I mean? Quote
