Sure glad we booked when we did... Cost has gone up by $1,000 total for the two cabins we booked. We booked one aft balcony cabin on deck 14 for my wife and me, and one inside cabin on deck 14 for our two boys. Looking forward to an aft cabin! Never had one before...

Only 448 days to go!

The cost my original booking has gone up by $2,400. Yikes!

Specialty dining venues are now showing up on my cruise planner. Expesive! I did not pull the trigger. Please see screen shot. UDP and the 3 day Specialty Dining package are not available yet. Looking to save some money via the 3 day Specialty Dining package, once it’s available.

Only 422 days to go!

Worked out that I would have 198 C&A points at the start of this cruise. So obviously I needed a few more points so I could get an Icon ship block. Booked Allure in Jan for 7 nights so will now cross 210 on Icon.

Unlimited Dining options are now available. Seems expensive

Thanks for sharing this. Dining packages also showed up for my November Icon sailing. Priced $60 more than typical unlimited package. I purchased and will hope for price drop.

I priced out the 3 Night Dining Package versus directly buying 3 specialty dining reservations. The 3 Night Dining Package was roughly $100 less. So basically, for an additional $100, you get the privilege of locking in your reservations now, as opposed to the mad dash when getting on the ship.

Also, for the Unlimited Drink Package, I noticed they lowered the discount from 20% off to 15% off, which increased the price from $587 to $623. I would not be surprised if the Unlimited Drink Package is close to $800 by this time next year.

Ask and you shall receive! UDP is 50% off right now.  I'm on the fence still... Can't tell if this really is a good deal or not...

To help provide some sort of perspective... this is the current price for the UDP on Wonder (10/29/23 sailing). The lowest I've seen it to date (it's always this price when there is a sale)... this will be our first time with the UDP!

image.png.1382a6a3e6aeaeacd64346fa0199b9fc.png

... and we're seeing the same pricing for our Icon sailing (5/11/24) as for your sailing... will have to monitor along with you!

300 days to go!

We pulled the trigger on the Unlimited Dining Package several weeks ago when it was 50% off. Not entirely sure if we'll keep it. Going to wait to hear about the MDR and specialty dining reviews for the first 5 voyages before we make a final decision.

Looks like the fares are absolutely through the roof! Same cabin categories are now double what we paid! Holy moly! If I could "sell" our reservations for double my money, I'd do that in a heartbeat! LOL! 100% return on investment! Well, maybe not, actually!

The base price of the Unlimited Drink Package continues to increase...

In January of 2023, it was $735.

In March of 2023, it jumped to $770.

It just jumped to $805. Yikes!

Back in February of 2023 (above), I predicted $800 by March 2024. Now I'm thinking $900 or $1000 by March of 2024.

I'll continue to keep everyone posted!

Thanks!

Only 250 days to go! Halfway there! I cannot believe how quickly the first 250 days flew by since we booked our cruise in October of last year! Crazy!

image.thumb.png.0b1ce9731553f843841964f205a7bc4f.png

The prices continue to absolutely skyrocket! I priced out the exact same cruise we booked back in October (1 balcony room and 1 interior room) for 4 passengers total. Grand total: An eye watering, baffling, whopping $19,216.88. I mean, come on man! Who in their right mind would pay that!? We paid ~$7,000 total. Nearly 3 times less! That is insane! Anyone want to buy my reservation for $15,000? If so, it's yours! LOL! You'd get a $4,000 discount! Now that's a deal! LOL!

The Deluxe Beverage Package base cost jumped again. Base price is now $840, which is up from $805.

Here's the history of base price increases:

January of 2023, base price was $735.

March of 2023, base price jumped to $770.

May of 2023, base price jumped to $805.

November of 2023, base priced jumped to $840.

We should be near $900 by March of 2024.

Good times!

Only 50 more days to go! I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by! Won't be long now! 7 weeks from tomorrow!

Also, looks like they lowered the price of Crown's Edge from $89 to $49. Still won't do it at $49.

I'm thinking $10 is reasonable for a 90 second attraction, but that's just me!

Completed check-in. Earliest time slot we could get was 11:30 AM. As far as I know, that is the earliest we could get.

I slept past 11 PM Central, we are 12:30. We have the Key also.

I've been on Cruise Critic for over twenty years and my wife and I went to one Meet and Mingle on Day one. For this forum do any of you have experiences doing this? It seems for a ship of this size it might be a challenge.

What I will do is par down and edit the 2000 or so images I bring home from every cruise and post them here if there is a desire. Here are some from this summer.

Quantum of the Seas.

Ketchikan.

Victoria BC.

Seattle.

Sitka.

Juneau.

I stopped writing reviews long ago, so I hope you enjoy these and ones to come. I would love to see your photo memories as well. I used a Nikon 7500 and Sony 6400 for this trip. For the Icon the shiny new Canon R6 Mark II. It was a treat to myself for finishing the ten month cancer journey and hearing the word "remission" yesterday at Baylor-St Lukes in Houston.

Bring on the Icon!

Where did you see Crown's Edge? I don't see it in onboard activities and was wondering if it was listed somewhere else. TY

i was on the sailing right before yours, maybe we crossed paths as we were debarking since we stayed as long as we could on the ship until the kicked us out lol.

i always envied the fresh batch of cruising embarking as i debarked this ship bittersweet but you'll love the ship!

I also hide about 20 ducks around the ship if you can find them. i got them in the arcade at surfside. i'll be back on this ship later this year!
