Check In Procedure

To get a better choice of boarding times if you check in right away.  You can always go in and add information later, but you'll want to have your passports, vaccine cards, and the credit card that  you want on your SeaPass account.

Do you NEED the credit card info to do the check in? Or will it allow you to proceed without it?  I want to do a group of 20 of us. I have everybody linked on 2 signons.

You can go in and JUST select check in times if you do it on the app.  Then everyone can go in and enter the rest of the information later.

Just to clarify, we can check in on the app at 12:01am and be done.  Then go in LATER (when I'm more awake) and add the rest of the info?  I know that's what you said, just wanted to be very certain that's what to do....Thanks, Pooch!

Yes exactly.  You cannot do it on the website but the app allows you to go directly to arrival time.  You will have to do each person in turn but you can do it.  I did it for our travel party of six then went back later after sleep & coffee & did the rest.

Did you have to sign in on the APP with each persons email and password??  When I sign in on the APP I only see MY resv.

But when I sign in on the web on a computer, I see all 6 accounts that are linked.

Thanks

You need to link the reservations in the app.  On the page that shows your reservation (not the page with the ship) click on “select a different sailing”, then “link a missing reservation”.  Enter the reservation numbers for the other parties.  This links you in the app & will bring everyone up when check in opens.

My first cruise since COVID and many things have changed.  Please don't think I'm being uppity but I have to ask, it's kinda important to me.  How does these new Boarding Times work with Star Class cruisers?  Will the system give me a boarding time after/while I complete the check-in stuff or will I get information directly from the Genie's email to us, as it used to be.  Actually, the Genie would ask us what time we planned to arrive in the initial email from him/her.

You will get a check-in time when you complete check-in. And like before you will set it up with your Genie when you will be arriving, so you don't have to adhere to your assigned check-in time. My last 3 Star Class sailings (all post COVID) the Genies have used Whatsapp so we just messaged them once we arrived at the port and they met us up in the waiting area to walk us onto the ship.

Yep, thanks.  That's basically the way we did it.  I like that procedure and it won't be a problem ignoring the none-Genie boarding time, not at all.

I don't think you will be able to answer this but, I'm curious about Seattle terminal, 91.  No one at Royal, my TA, or even the shuttle/limo company can't/won't answer my question.  I understand that this May is probably the first Alaska cruise season post COVID and a lot has changed.  But, I'm wondering, at other terminals, Miami, Port Everglades, Port of Canaveral, the Genie and a ship's crew member (the Genie's pre-embarkation day emails specifically stat not to give luggage to the port's porters/stevedores) come to the curbside entrance and the ship's crew member take your luggage through security and straight to your cabin so it's there when you get there and the Genie escorts you to/through the processing system and then to your cabin.  I've heard that terminal 91 isn't physically set up so that passengers can drop off luggage curbside and the Genie won't meet you at the entrance to the terminal, he/she will come to the pre-boarding waiting area if there is any wait time.  I've looked at a lot of VLOGS and I don't even see any suite banners at the entrance to the terminal either.

That's the only one that I don't have SC experience with..but they did have a partial Alaska season late last summer and Ovation sailed, so someone out there has to have experienced it!

Well, thanks for your patience with me and answering my questions.  I'll keep trying to get answers.  But, I think I won't know until I get my email from the Genie.

Just in case you are wondering why I want to know so badly, 3 of the 4 of us are disabled (two are Vets) and I've been told that the walk from the shuttle/limo drop off area is at leas 30 yards.  We, none of us are to badly disabled but carrying/lugging/pulling heavy baggage could be a little issue and I'm still fairly sure that the Genie will have us bring out luggage to the terminal entrance.  We'll see.

Understandable! I watched some videos and the luggage dropoff procedure there looks way different than it does for the other ports I've been to. Does seem like a lot of walking and towing luggage and the dropoff is actually inside the terminal!

My two grandsons are in a separate room and have a different reservation number. Their names show on the website but not on the app as linked. When I try to link them on the app, it says that reservation is already linked. Not sure if I'm missing something.

Same here. But when I try to link the reservations/names, it says they're already linked.

Question have not cruised since the pandemic. Check in on the app we are traveling with another couple so need same check in although since I am in a suite I could be one hour either way I think. Would be nice though to have the same time your saying I could go into my phone app and pick check in times for my wife and I and the other couples or is it done by reservation numbers? If I did that 1201AM then we could both come back later and fill in all the other needed information and it would let me check in his reservation time. Plus doing this would not mess up his information on the web site.

Thanks

Ed

I found a youtube video (ca't find it again, can't remember my exact search term) that was made late in the season last year.  It panned, incidentally, by a Star banner.  It was located across the street from the actual entrance to the terminal, by the covered area that you would pull into to drop off your luggage.  I guess that's much better than what I was expecting.  It really depends on where our shuttle will drop us and our luggage off, I would assume it will be close to the Star banner.
