DAVE(Darkcabbie) Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 Thought it would be good to see what your all time top 5 restaurants are past and present and maybe over time we might see an overall clear favourite. As we only cruised with RC for the first time last year we can only list our choice from the Independence but that will change over time as we sail on more ships. 1) Chops Grille 2) Giovanni's Table 3) Windjammer 4) MDR 5) Johnny Rockets BON APPETIT :D :) markinct 1 Quote
Matt Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 As of right now.... 1. Sabor 2. Chops 3. MDR 4. Portofino 5. WIndjammer I reserve the right to change this  DAVE(Darkcabbie) 1 Quote
AGSLC5 Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Mine as of now is... 1. Chops Grille 2. Samba 3. Giovanni's Table 4. MDR 5. Windjammer But I agree with Matt that I might change my mind... Espically after I try new restaurants on Quantum! DAVE(Darkcabbie) 1 Quote
Marc Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Samba Grill Izumi Chops Grille Portofino (so sad to see it disappearing) Johnny Rockets or Windjammer (I can't decide which between these two) The main dining room doesn't show up on my top 5 list because I'm not a fan of the updated menus. Service is great, but the food choices disappoint me. Quote
donalk Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 1 MDR 2 Cafe Promenade(I love those croissant style sandwiches, plus it's the best spot on the ship to people watch) 3 Solarium Cafe (Vision 2010) 4 Jade 5 Windjammer Quote
bcarney Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 MDR - I've not yet tried any of the restaurants. I thought about it for our last cruise, the Chef's Table I think it was called (the Celeb chef's place on Oasis), but my wife didn't like the menu so we passed. <edit>I take that back, I was just thinking about the more upscale places. We have eaten at Johnny Rockets (I don't see what the big deal is with them but the wife and kids like it so there we are), the Crab Shack on Oasis, and that little outdoor place on Radiance (soooo many years ago).</edit> Quote
jticarruthers Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 MDR Windjammer Chops Johnny Rockets Café Promenade Never really had a bad experience in the MDR, Windjammer is always a good backup plan, loved out first Chops experience a few years ago but its gone downhill every time since then, Johnny Rockets is the best burger on board, don't go often but its good when we do, Café Promenade with the sandwiches and snacks is a good light meal option. DocLC Posted September 21, 2014 Report Posted September 21, 2014 As of right now.... 1. Sabor 2. Chops 3. MDR 4. Portofino 5. WIndjammer I reserve the right to change this  No Izumi (the sushi restaurant)? The sheer number of times you've eaten there should place it in your Top 5. :) Quote
mike Posted September 21, 2014 Report Posted September 21, 2014 1. Chops 2. MDR 3. Windjammer 4. Cafe Promenade The only other place we've ever eaten at was Sabor, but the lack of service that night unfortunately has to take it off the list for only a top 4 :(. Great food though. Quote
Matt Posted September 22, 2014 Report Posted September 22, 2014 No Izumi (the sushi restaurant)? The sheer number of times you've eaten there should place it in your Top 5. :) Oh man, I must have been drinking something when I wrote that post  DocLC 1 Quote

DocLC Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 It's been nearly 10 years since my last RCI cruise, but it have two upcoming and am looking most forward to trying: 1) Chops Grille 2) Giovanni's Table 3) Portofino 4) Seaview Cafe 5) Izumi I've also heard amazing things about the roast beef sandwiches at Park Cafe, so I'll need to try those, too. jticarruthers Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 The sandwiches were good, got me in trouble with the wife for prioritizing lunch ahead of unpacking our room on day one though :( Quote
rekkie Posted September 24, 2014 Report Posted September 24, 2014 IZUMI Chops Samba MDR Windjammer Quote
AussieCoasterKing Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 1) Chops Grille 2) Giovanni's Table 3) Rita's Crabshack 4) Samba Grill 5) Rita's Cabtina I suspect that will change when I get to try sable! Highlight was eating with the captain in the MDR 😊 Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 Wow...what a hard choice...but what a great thread ! 1. MDR 2. Park Café 3. Izumi 4. Sabor 5. Samba Grill I loved the Chef's Table...done it twice now on different ships but I don't think it's really a fair comparison as it's a completely different type of venue. Quote
intheknow Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 Just got back from LOS 9 night cruise (my first RC) top 5 are: 1. Portofino - amazing food and service 2. Chops for breakfast (not dinner) - well worth the $10 3. Windjammer 4. Johnny Rockets 5. Anything but the MDR (boring and repetitive bland food) Quote
AussieCoasterKing Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 2. Chops for breakfast (not dinner) - well worth the $10 I didn't know you could eat at Chops for breakfast! Is this on all ships? What kind of food do they offer?? Quote
intheknow Posted July 30, 2015 Report Posted July 30, 2015 Yes For $10 per person you can have a delightful breakfast at Chops We saw it on the compass and walked right in, I believe it was offered 3 times on our 9 day cruise There was an all you can eat buffet that included Jumbo shrimp (the same ones you get at a chops dinner) Lox, bagels, cream cheese Assorted Fresh fruit Assorted cheese Plus other pastries cereals etc Also include is a steak & eggs breakfast, I had mine with s custom omelet plus Fresh squeeze oj Plus one drink (bloody Mary or mimosa) Well worth it Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted July 30, 2015 Report Posted July 30, 2015 That's interesting. On most of the ships Chops is the b'fast location for Gold card holders. If Chops is open to everyone on sea days I wonder where the Gold card holders eat b'fast on LoS. Quote
intheknow Posted July 31, 2015 Report Posted July 31, 2015 Not sure This was my first cruise on RC Quote
