Sorry if this has been asked before. First time on a RC cruise and sailing with my 79 year old mother. what is the best way to keep in contact during times we are on separate parts of the ship?

Does your mother use smartphones or tablets?  If she does, you can purchase a VOOM package for 2 devices and keep in touch via Messenger or text.

I've heard that the messaging feature on the Royal app is not very reliable and not user friendly.

I wouldn't go that far that it is not user friendly.

The issue is perhaps getting notifications when you aren't actively using your phone, but when we tested it out on a cruise earlier this season, it worked for me

1.99 per person per day.

you can do the old fashioned way. Leave a sticky note on the door.  The only issue might be if you decide to leave “trivia” and go to a different event without an update on the sticky note.

Plus the sticky note may disappear or be defaced.
