  1. OA for sure! Especially Harmony or Symphony because of the slides. However, if cost is a factor then Mariner and Independence (with their new revitalization) has big ship amenities for a lower cost. Teens likely won't be bored on those two ships either.
  2. Wow! That was easy and new itineraries haven't even come out yet! @Matt and @AnnetteJackson pick any week in July 2020 and 5 of us here can go already! Add that to the group of Insiders who I know want a Canada/NE sailing and I would say you have many interested already ?
  3. I've never done a holiday sailing either. That is why we are partially curious. I will tell you though that the disadvantage of waiting till now is that it is slim pickings for cabin choices. Book early if you are considering a holiday sailing. And welcome to our community! ?
  4. I would prefer to think of it as an extra $70 or so per night. And looking at it that way...YES! Bigger washroom, walk in closet, double points. For sure!
  5. I agree on this one. I have not yet stayed in one of these but I have read that if you pick the ones on the ends, you don't have full privacy. Meaning, people will still see you on your balcony. Not sure if that matters to you at all. The ones in the middle give you the most privacy. That being said, I would stay in any CLS! ?
  6. For 5 people, that is not a bad deal at all! Think of it as just over $500pp for 7 nights with a balcony on Oasis class! That's actually pretty great! Did you verify that the room has a pullman though so it can sleep 5??
  7. I would think the space difference on those are minimal. Likely the 2 in the middle of the block (1746, 1748, 1710, 1712) might have a tad bit more space but I doubt that it makes a difference. @tonyfsu21 has been in these a few times.
  8. That did cross my mind but it is bit outside what I am comfortable with for now....
  9. This was a spur of the moment sort of discussion that came up lol. Funny part, Hubby brought it up first this time, not me!
  10. This is your discount from KSF. I don't know why it shows up like this on the invoice but it does. All the reservations I have with KSF, the charges show, and then are taken off at the end like how it is here. I cannot explain the math to you as it is wonky RCL logic. I am not sure how they go about calculating it. You pay the port taxes for your kids. This is all assuming you are not within the blackout dates as @Matt pointed out.
  11. Pinging @Traveler. He just got off Rhapsody. Also, check out his live blog. There's lots of info in it: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/9042-rhapsody-of-the-seas-greek-islands-25-aug-1-sep-semi-live-blog/
  12. Lol! I knew you would say that. Truth is (and I know you will understand this one), the main thing holding me back is the slim pickings on staterooms. Suites are sold out and so are connecting staterooms of any kind. That would mean all 4 of us in one balcony or panoramic room...very tight squeeze!
  13. My husband (he's the one that rides the zip line, I don't) has only ever worn actual running shoes to participate so I'm not sure about any other footwear. But I would think that if they didn't let @J_Keeble on with his water shoes, then they must be pretty strict about it. The last thing they need is for clothing or footwear to come off while someone is on it and it falls on someone below. The zip line runs over the pool decks and Central park so I would think they have to be very vigilant about that.
  14. Depends...which ship? We have had success steaming movies etc. from Allure, Harmony, and Anthem. On Mariner, we did not try to stream movies but we were able to watch YouTube etc. without issue.
  15. Has anyone ever taken a cruise over New Years? Is it very different compared to a regular sailing? Crazier? Same? Are there special events (other than a New Year's Eve celebration)? Would you recommend it? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Just asking for research ?
  16. The menu in CK is comparable to the specialty restaurants on board. The quality and presentation of the food is far greater than MDR and because they have their own kitchen and cook by order, your food is more fresh. Like @JLMoran stated already, the menu is better as well as far as food choices go. For an idea of what you can expect, check out blogs by myself or @bellemiche. We have menus posted from CK and food pics. The menu is pretty standard across the fleet now. The other benefits of CK, especially on ships Iike Symphony, is the spectacular view. You cannot beat the view while dining up on Deck 17. Simply beautiful. And also because CK is a smaller venue, the service is also better, from what I have experienced. If you have access to it, take advantage of it. Don't let the opportunity go to waste. Here are links to live blogs with CK menus and food pics: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/8867-oasis-of-the-seas-july-29-august-5/ https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/5780-anthem-of-the-seas-march-9-17-2018/
  17. I have never had a problem on beds on board. I feel that they are very comfortable. Or maybe I just sleep well on vacation because I know that I have no chores to do ?
  18. I'm a creature of habit...status quo...pretty easy ?
  19. But for the Genie I would say that walk is worth it! ?
  20. That's the worst! Rain and disembarkation day! However, it does seem like you have had an awesome week. I really enjoyed this blog and all the pictures you shared. Thank you ? Safe travels home!
