  1. Sadly, complimentary VOOM for GS+ is only available for Oasis and Quantum class ships.
  2. +1 for WhatsApp. That's what we use since I have an iphone and Hubby uses an Android. We also use this to message and chat with our family back at home when on board.
  3. Kid-less cruises are the best! Thank goodness for awesome parents.
  4. Well...I am turning into the "Girl who cried wolf"...we just turned our 169 day dry dock into a 98 day dry dock. Just booked Indy for NYE 2018!!!! We've done some pretty "not so wise" things in the past but this booking has got to be "our best" example of "YOLO Book It" to date. Suites and connecting rooms are completely sold out. All 4 of us are cramming into an Ocean View Panoramic cabin (1L). Going to be a very tight squeeze! Not even close to good value as the cost of the 1L can get me a JS on Indy next NYE (but I am not good at waiting). Airfare is double what we normally pay to fly from DTW to FLL. Definitely a YOLO moment! The surprise this booking was that airfare was cheaper to book through Air2Sea rather than direct with Delta. Not a huge savings, but $164 cheaper, same flight times, same airline. I always thought Air2Sea would be more for domestic. Worthwhile to check.
  5. Welcome Chris! Looking forward to meeting you next July! I have a 12 year old who needs a friend in the Living Room ?
  6. @CruisingKat(Kathy) shared on FB in August a really great idea for a Nassau excursion. Here is the link. It looks really interesting and is a great alternative to the norm of beaches etc. https://jetlinesimulationbahamas.com/
  7. Welcome @canada55; from a fellow Canadian ??
  8. Definitely reasonable. Grab it now, re-price later. It is $17.99/day for a holiday sailing I have my eye on....I would grab it for sure at $12.79.
  9. Just make sure you put your phone into airplane mode. Otherwise you might end up with a whole load of extra charges.
  10. IMO, the VP suites are the same as JS without the balcony. The perks are comparable. It cannot be compared to a GS or above. However, @JLMoran, if you really want to book one, book early. There are usually only two of these per ship and they go fast. Never mind, just read the post again. The perks are comparable....but again, only two of them so book early. And I am going to guess that they will also raise prices.
  11. This must be so painful for you! #poorpoorMatt Following along @CruiseHabit Ric! You're sailing with @twangster ?
  12. Loft suite without a doubt! I use to think that the L2s would be too busy for me but after reading this blog by @bellemiche, it doesn't look that bad at all. I guess for me it would depend on the price difference. I would prefer the ocean view but if the price difference is $1000 (which it is for my Harmony March 2019 cruise), I would take the sports court view. The balcony is definitely wider with the GS, and you have loungers and a dining table/chairs. With the loft suites, there is less furniture. But I would personally say that less furniture and smaller balcony is a good trade off for the WOW factor of the loft and being on Deck 17.
  13. Pinging @CGTLH as he has been on a few Halloween cruises. But this post confuses me as I thought Splendour was no longer in service?
  14. Like @JLMoran said, the chances of the upgrade fairy calling are unlikely. Not impossible but just unlikely. If you really want a GS, either book it as soon as possible or if you upgrade after final payment, you just cover the difference. Pay attention to the 45-60 day mark. Sometimes prices will drop at that point.
  15. You will get a small coffee machine (nothing special like @KathyC already said) and a kettle.
  16. You are super lucky! I seem to keep missing him and Marc Walker.
  17. That sums up OA class right there! Glad to hear that you are having a great time. Breakfast stroll makes me smile...brings me back to the good old early days of cruising when the metabolism was a bit quicker. ?
  18. That use to worry me too. But then I got the same message from Royal, to just reserve for adults. Each time I have done so, I went straight to the restaurant upon boarding to let them know. It has not been a problem for me to get them on then.
  19. TA CD is Bobby Brown. Abe takes over on November 9th. He posted it on FB a while back.
  20. I wonder if the delay has to do with the turnover with the Cruise Director. Abe is taking over November 9th right around that time of the GC. I was under the impression that it's the CD who determines the release of that stuff.
  21. Agree with @Traveler. OA class is the best! Enjoy your cruise. Following along ?
  22. No. Book for the adults, then once on board, let the restaurant know that you are bringing children. Kids 6-12 are $10.
