  1. I have been told by C&A reps that they are the ones that make the call and decisions on the upgrades......
  2. No problem! Navigator will be revitalized by then. But like I said, if you want something comparable to Symphony, it's Harmony. Indy is somewhere in between.
  3. If it is available, it will show up in your cruise planner. Usually under "Entertainment and Activities". It is not always available.
  4. Don't try Carnival. When are you looking at sailing? They are going to amp Navigator to be just like Mariner in 2019. Navigator is a sister ship to Mariner. If you want something bigger, Independence of the Seas received similar upgrades and will do 4/5 night sailings during the fall/winter season out of Fort Lauderdale. Harmony is most like Symphony if you want the Oasis class experience. Hope that helps.
  5. @lincoln81 also make sure you check out @Matt's posts on Anthem, especially if it's your first time: First time guide to Anthem: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2017/04/12/first-time-cruisers-guide-royal-caribbeans-anthem-of-the-seas Getting started for new cruisers: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/getting-started
  6. Tap water is perfectly fine to drink. Tea, regular coffee, lemonade, milk and iced tea is also complimentary. Look for a sale between now and January. It can go as low as $18US/day. And no, only one can purchase. It's the deluxe package that requires both adults in the cabin to purchase. As far as the rest of your questions, we did the same sailing with 2 kids in March 2018. Check out my live blog. We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Elizabeth, NJ and although we did not drive, they did have parking and would shuttle you to the port. Great hotel for families. We took the kids to the Kennedy Space Center in Port Canaveral, missed Coco Cay due to rough seas, and Hubby and one daughter did the Dolphin encounter in Nassau. I blogged about all of this. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/boards/index.php?/topic/5780-anthem-of-the-seas-march-9-17-2018/ And welcome to the message boards! Lots of great and knowledgeable people here!
  7. Nope. We booked her because we enjoyed Mariner in August and we wanted to sail out of FLL for New year's. I found out after that it might be Tim. That just raised my excitement for December.
  8. As long as it's not BB again, I'm good. I will be so excited if we get to sail with Tim again!
  9. July 27, 2019. I really hope I don't miss him!! Any word on how long Tim is on Indy for? He got on last Saturday and I'm sailing December 29th.
  10. If you take a look at this blog post by @Matt from a few months ago, it gives you a rough idea of what to expect for each class of ship. No real details, I've looked (all over the place) too since I'm sailing her after dry dock in March 2020. It doesn't look like she will get a Sky Pad as those seem to be reserved for Freedom and Voyager class ships. But again, nothing has been confirmed by Royal yet. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2018/04/30/royal-caribbean-releases-royal-amplified-fleet-upgrade-schedule
  11. I sure hope so, but look what happened with Mariner and Indy. Both ships went through revitalization and no real stateroom upgrades. Same! Too bad you and @Boston Babe and I all couldn't sail the same sailing!
  12. Hmm...that I don't know then. Pinging @Michael Vitale as he was on Liberty recently.
  13. Which ship and sailing is it? I heard over the summer that happened on some European sailings....
  14. @Baked Alaska late to the party on this thread but I never pay off in full until I need to either for several reasons... 1. I agree with what @melski94, I would rather hang onto my money as long as possible. 2. What @twangster said about re-pricing is also what I know as well. However, one reason you have to possibly put more down on it sooner is that if you are on an upgrade list, how much you have put down affects your order on the calling list should an upgrade become available. Meaning, they will call those who have paid more towards their sailing over those that just have a deposit down. I did not know this before. Several C&A reps told me this within the past month.
  15. Not sure I understand this question completely but some drinks have more than one type of liquor in it and would be more than 1 ounce. Is that what you were asking? Those drinks usually still fall within the drink package. If you order Tokyo Tea, a @CruiseLifeRick favourite, it has 4 ounces of something lol. I lost count after watching them pour the first two ounces. That is one strong drink! But really good!
  16. You read right. Oasis is getting amped in fall 2019 and Allure the following year. No word on vintages staying or going. I personally think Bamboo Room would look strange in CP though.
  17. Don't forget there's going to be Indy soon too (4/5 night sailings). I was just talking with my kids this afternoon and I have a feeling Indy will be even better than Mariner. Did you keep that booking?
  18. Yes!!! or in the words of @Matt...Woot! Finally! Now we just need @JLMoran to give it a try! Now, if you sailed two weeks later you could visit us and our Genie lol.
  19. Mine too! @twangster you can venture from RCCL but don't venture too far away from here. You are not replaceable!
  20. Depending on how many you have, a shuttle may be more than Uber/Lyft XL. When with our kids, we always have to get XL and the cost in August from Fort Lauderdale to Port of Miami was a little under $80.
  21. Yes, I've heard of this before and as @melski94 said, you will just have to spend a bit more time at the check in counter. Not a big deal.
  22. As far as I know, how far out in advance you book a cabin has no impact on whether or not you get an upgrade. However, a few C&A reps have told me that how much money you put down (meaning if you pay it off way before final payment) may have an impact on the order they call should an upgrade become available. Many other factors (waiting list, C&A level, type of cabin booked) also come into play when they decide who to call. I can also say that I have never once received a call either.
  23. IIRC, I did say that your blog would do the ship way better justice and I was right! That Solarium looks amazing in your pics ?
  24. Correction...just had the time to check the rest of my sailings and saved $75 overall!! Many thanks!
