  1. After reading the last page of posts, I guess I should be grateful that my FCC is only short $352 lol...? This whole thing is getting crazy....
  2. We are booked on Odyssey's inaugural and after the news this week, I have a bad feeling as well. That led me to do some looking (as I really do want to sail Odyssey sooner rather than later), and I ended up booking the 8 night on Odyssey 03/12/2021. Now, I did say to a friend yesterday that might be cancelled too depending on how long Odyssey gets delayed for but that is way too far off to predict right now. Fortunately for us, we are able to put down the deposit and hold it for now and as @Neesa said, let it play out. So at the moment, I am holding two bookings for that week in March. Allure (which I was originally booked for that week but now disappointed that she won't be amped) and Odyssey (in case that inaugural doesn't go through as planned). I am hoping that by December (final payment time) we will have a more clear picture of what this will look like. At the same time, I also grabbed the 8 night on Brilliance that you are talking about, but for July. I too have been wanting to head back the the Southern Caribbean and the July itinerary on Brilliance has St. Lucia as a port of call. This is also my Plan B in case I decide not to go the Norway GC. I have always been a book cruises way in advance person, but this is getting crazy. I am starting to lose track of all the Plan A, B, C, Ds that I am juggling at the moment lol.
  3. We cancelled 3/10 for our 3/15 sailing. We just got our excursion money back this past week. I think it was Thursday. So 5/7. ?
  4. @Ampurp85 I learned something new this week from a fellow blog insider. I have always thought that the policy was that the FCC would be issued in the name of the passenger, however, a fellow blog insider this week had some luck otherwise. One of her sailings got cancelled (she paid for everything) and they had their son's friend on the booking with them. She was concerned that the friend's portion of the FCC would be useless to them as they would not be bringing this friend on future cruises. Anyway, to make a long story short, she called and pleaded her case and Royal issued the FCC back to them, not the friend. So you might want to call and try your luck...worth a shot.
  5. I just took another look at that one and I am so sad, it's not going to work for me either. I would miss my daughter's birthday so that's not going to go well. FCC it is...I might take it and book the 8 night Brilliance S.Caribbean sailing instead. That's in July as well.
  6. If you can, let me know, because I also have a 9 night on Adventure this July that I might need to "lift and shift" if that is even possible...There is nothing next summer like it that I can see.
  7. When there is only one suite left in any given category, you will get that message. It means it's there, but you won't be able to access it online. In the case of the Villa, or Royal Loft Suite, or anything where there is only one left (or one on the ship) you will get that message.
  8. I am almost positive our July 15th sailing on Adventure isn't happening. Mentally preparing for the loss already. This sailing is a tough one to swallow for me personally. Booked it almost two years ago, scored an unbeatable deal on a category VP (a room category that I have been so looking forward to trying out), great port intensive itinerary with ports I have never visited, $18 DX, great drops on all excursion, Phantom on Broadway tickets pre-cruise, and most importantly, 9 nights kid free with Hubby. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper yesterday after Carnival's announcement. That to me is pretty much the nail in the coffin. And there is not Plan B for this one in 2021. So at the earliest it will be 2022 before I can replace it. And then who knows what pricing will be like. I am so sad...
  9. I keep wondering if they will move it to Florida...for July or August...
  10. lol...I like to think of cruising out of Cape Liberty as easy. Short flight for us, embarkation at that Terminal is a breeze (well it was pre-covid). Lovely it is not. First time we did just went to the outlet mall and had dinner. Last year, we made plans to head into NYC. That is supposed to be the plan for this summer too but who knows now...
  11. You are very welcome, from one cruise snob to another. Always happy to help lol.
  12. The port area around Cape Liberty is all industrial. Zero to do in that area. ? There is an outlet mall within walking distance of Embassy Suites that’s about it.
  13. Embassy Suites in Elizabeth, NJ is a great airport hotel if you are flying into EWR. I would say no, they are not created equally. Some hotels in that area aren't in great shape. But full disclaimer, I am a suite snob lol. Embassy has great pricing, free airport shuttle to and from the hotel, modern and clean, and most importantly, complimentary happy hour. ?
  14. This is the 2 bedroom panoramic suite. Category VT.
  15. That is not released yet. Oh, I see what happened...Raye meant August 2021. That is the sailing that we both got price drops on.
  16. Thank you @Traveler! I asked because your comment earlier reminded me of a thread a few day ago by @jaullram asking if ships might move ports (in your case they did). I was just curious what compensation they offered in that case. This gives a good idea. Thanks.
  17. Just curious, what did Royal offer when the changed it? And did they just change itinerary or port of embarkation too?
  18. +1 on that. $3281 off on my RLS for that sailing. Same thing, second reduction in a matter of weeks.
  19. Same. All the Odyssey cruise planner items that I re-priced on 04/20 came back today. I thought I would be waiting forever for that. Still nothing back yet though from my cancelled 03/15 sailing.
  20. @WannaCruise I can let you know as soon as I get back my March FCC. I had used FCC (due to expire July 2020) to pay for that cancelled sailing so let's see what happens now when they re-issue me my new one. I think what I had heard is that it would be rolled into a new one.
  21. Because I would have to fly regardless, it makes zero difference to me. I prefer flying to Florida rather than NJ anyway. If they change ports, would I go? I have already given it some thought as I think this would not be a far off possibility. The answer is maybe. Things are still too fluid right now with COVID 19. I plan to pay my final payment in a few weeks and maybe I will go, and maybe I won't. However, if I don't, I have an even better RLS waiting and with @WAAAYTOOO for company! So win-win. We'll see.
  22. I'm going to do something I've never done and actually guess against what @Matt said earlier. I agree that it would not be so far fetched to move it. It goes back to that question in the other post, would they rather have some cancellations and sail somewhat empty or cancel everyone and not sail at all? Like everything else in this mess, who knows, but it would not surprise me if they moved Oasis.
  23. I'm a teacher so not an option for me lol. But I fully agree! ?
  24. Darn. No wonder. I stopped searching in August because school starts back up in September. ?
