I received a phone call from Marsha this morning from Royal.  I almost didn't answer the phone.  Anyway, she informed me of my two options, 1-move to a later cruise in the summer to accommodate the time frame for the vaccine 2-Total refund including any airfare booked thru Air2Sea.  I chose Number 2.

And let's be very clear(and for those of you who honestly not know) that you do not need the vaccine for travel or entrance to the Bahamas!
Royal has made it a requirement for Nassau sailings and now other cruises.
 

We were using FCC that will be re deposited.  She also said we will receive 100% of the air fare booked thru air2sea program refunded to our CC.  And I also asked about our Thanksgiving and Christmas cruise and she said as of know those of the rules, she did say they could change.

Yes Royal always had it as a requirement.

The Alaska cruises you can't book yet but I am sure that notification will appear.

As of now, it’s not saying this for ANY of the 3 cruises we have booked when I do mock bookings. See photos below.  My spouse and I were ok with us being guinea pigs and being vaccinated, but there’s no way I’ll let my son who turns 10 in November get this vaccine until it’s had years of study.  Plus he’s already had Covid just like we did.   If by our cruises the FDA allows children below 12 to receive the vaccine and RCL makes it a requirement for them as well, then I’d expect a 100% cash refund because that rule wasn’t there when I booked and I never would have booked under those circumstances.
 

I am really disappointed that Royal hasn't reached out to all those that have cruises booked out of Nassau.

I'm in that predicament. My son turns 12 in the second week of July. We have a cruise August 2nd, 2021. Even if he got the vaccine, he would receive the second dose days before the cruise. However it's not totally effective for a few weeks after. If he can't go, I want a total refund and not another round of fcc.

This is not the place to talk about if you should or should not get the vaccine. Please respect the rules. I should not have to repeat this warning multiple times a day.

I think your analysis is right, Neesa. And I suspect they'll default to the CWC option if you want to back out. I think it's a little ridiculous to mandate vaccines for low risk children.

This would be disappointing more and more studies are coming out showing covid is a below average impact to kids (and a below average impact to adults around infected kids).
 
 

I wouldn't put it past some of these people!  And I will leave it at that!

If Royal were to adopt some of the new protocols that were just announced for Celebrity, what happens to families that have a 16 y/o that didn't have to be vaccinated but now do, there is no vaccine that will give them the two weeks after the second dose for cruises that leave in June.

One thing this blog is usefully for is getting me pumped up before I go workout!  Reading some of these opinions and the lack of common sense sometimes is better than PreWorkout stuff!  lol

I don't recall that. Just any CDC/WHO authorized vaccine. 

Royal should work out the logistics and MOVE ALL ships for the fall from US ports to the Caribbean ports they are using for the summer season.  They also need to hold firm with the decision and make the changes NOW.

The biggest problem with the internet and social media comes not from the the words that written but how they are interpreted by readers.
I suspect we could have a thoroughly enjoyable intelligent friendly discussion at a Schooner Bar on any ship and walk away closer as friends then we would be separated by our misjudgements.  

If only we knew of an ambulance chasing lawyer in Florida who could take a case involving many of us.  Hmmm. 
We are all being presumed to present a risk to each other and being denied an opportunity to travel by ship on the presumption that we will infect each other.  
I think the CDC should be required to demonstrate that I present a risk to society before they should be allowed to lock me down and prevent me from boarding a cruise ship.
