  1. I just bout the all digital + prints package for my upcoming oasis cruise. I think we'll take plenty of pics.
  2. Were all 6 of you allowed in Barefoot Beach? If so, Would I have to get a Cabana in Barefoot Beach in order to get the guests in my party that are staying in a D3 into Barefoot beach with me?
  3. Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly happy with an Owner's Suite. But should I be offered the upgrade, I don't think I could turn it down.
  4. Think the upgrade fairy will call me and offer to upgrade me from a Owner's Suite to a Star class?
  5. I'll keep my $0 reservation and we'll just see what it is when I get on board and go to my dinner. I'm good either way, but of course free, due to a technical issue, would be awesome :-)
  6. I guess I should have disclosed that if I now attempt to make another reservation for Sabor during the same sailing it's wanting to charge me the $15.00 per head. I'm confused. haha Are they going to have 2 types of menus for my sailing. One for the people that booked it a la carte and another for the people that paid $15 when they booked it?
  7. Does this mean that Sabor on Oasis is now a cover charge restaurant. When I booked Sabor on Oasis for my cruise in a couple weeks I wasn't charged anything to make a reservation. Will this mean that I lucked out and will get to eat here for free on for the dinner I already booked coming up on my cruise in a couple weeks?
  8. Unlike Carnival, with Royal Caribbean only the people that actually want the package need to buy the package. Not everyone in the stateroom is required to buy the package.
  9. My set sail pass for my upcoming Oasis cruise does not have the muster station identified. I suspect they put this on the QC and HoS set sail passes so that people are not "required" to go to their room before the muster drill.
  10. I think only the Quantum Class Ships and Harmony of the Seas currently have this type of checkin process. The rest of the fleet use the traditional online checkin process.
  11. It's typically more savings to order things via the cruise planner before you get on board. Also, spa treatments are typically cheaper on port days (even when booked via cruise planner).
  12. My wife and I were upgraded from a Balcony Room to a Junior Suite on Oasis last year for $300 total additional cost. They called me a few weeks before sail date to offer this upgrade. Keep in mind, that should you accept an upgrade offer, you will still only accrue C&A points at the rate you originally booked. (ie: being upgraded from a D1 to a JS will not make you earn 2 points per night for that sailing. You still only earn 1 point per night.)
  13. In my professional experience, 95% - 99% of people only take the time to write a review ( for any service/hospitality based industry ) if they have a complaint. The people that write positive reviews about anything are in the other 1% - 5%, or they are incentivized in someway to write a positive review. Basically, if someone has a bad experience, they want the world to know. If someone has the experience they expected, then they just feel they got the value they paid for and they move on about their life. I don't really put much stock in review sites. Just think of it this way....Estimate the number of people that have actually been on the ship since it started sailing, then compare that to the number of reviews you see. You will likely see that the number of bad reviews (even if it's 100% bad reviews on a specific site) is marginal when compared to the number of people that have actually sailed on the ship thus far.
  14. I may have some good photos of my hump Junior Suite (6242) from my last cruise. It indeed did have a full lounger, a chase lounger, and a 2 person dining table with 2 chairs. I will search from some pics. We really enjoyed the extra depth of the balcony.
  15. On my last cruise, I got the All inclusive digital package. I can't remember the exact price, but it was well worth it since we had over 100 pictures taken of my wife and I. The pictures on the disk are full resolution when printed out at up to 8" x 10" in size. I would highly recommend this package, especially if you are wanting a lot of pictures taken. You will be able to print as many copies of any picture on the cd as you want. Also, you have the option of adding the RCCL prints to your all-inclusive digital package for $100 more (for an unlimited number of photos). The package is done by stateroom, however if you have children under a certain age staying in another stateroom, you can have the Photo people merge your children onto your package once you get on board. Also any photo taken that contains at least one person that's listed on the package will make the photo included in the package. I know of someone who had 6 people in their stateroom and had over 1100 photos take of their group while on their cruise. They bought the all-inclusive digital package with the prints. I would say they got a great deal! Any photo taken by the RCCL photographers on the ship, or in ports, that includes at least one person from the package will be included in the package, however photos booked and taken in the "Picture This" Portrait Studio (which is on some ships) will not be included in the package. "Picture This" sessions is a separate service. It's also pretty common with RCCL that the more you pre-pay for and the more you book/reserve before embarkation day, the better deal you get relative to waiting to book, reserver, or buy a la carte once on board. RCCL uses facial recognition software to "know" who is in the picture. However, this is 100% accurate. You may end up with pictures that aren't you in your folio as well as some pictures that are you may not be in your folio. The photographers in the gallery can easily remove unwanted pictures from your folio. Also, they will put on display (think the old way), the photos they aren't able to match to a face. If you see one of you, then you can grab it off the self and take it to one of the photographers in the gallery for them to scan and add to your folio.
  16. as long as Labadoozies continue to be included in the package with no additional charge, I think I'll be just fine.
  17. I would expect pretty much any service-based retail business to try to up-sell something. The margins on retail products are usually much higher than the margins on the services themselves.
  18. Both Facetime and Wifi Calling with my iPhone worked wonderfully the last time I was on Oasis of the Seas. Different ships may have different VOOM results though.
  19. I always just stay on board until they practically literally throw me off. I'm never in a hurry to leave.
  20. I know it's probably wishful thinking, and that OS is going to be a great room. However I certainly wouldn't turn down a Star Class upgrade.
  21. wondering if I can snag a free or reduced upgrade from an OS to an A1, A2, RL, or SL by the time my departure date rolls around?
  22. Sharing your drink package is prohibited, if you get caught doing that you could have your drink package revoked without refund. A lot of sailings do offer a 10 drink card once you are on board. This may or may not be offered and it may or may not be offered on the first day or 2, but it's something to be on the look out for. However when it is offered, it does allow you to pre-pay for 10 drinks at a significant discount. A benefit of this card, is that you can share it with anyone that you want to. The card may be a good option for your husband. I'm not sure about the sodas at dinner, I've never ordered soda even when I had the drink package. I know you would have to pay for them if you didn't have the drink package. I would assume it's included in the package a dinners if you have it. I always stick to water and wine at dinners. I got a weird look from a server one time because I ordered a glass of wine in the theater with my package and when she brought it to me, I handed it right to my wife who was sitting beside me. She had this weird look on her face then she said, "oh yea, she has the drink package too. I remember you guys from earlier." So I guess my point is, they seem to be at least minimally trained to be on the lookout for stuff like that (or at least she was doing her due diligence)
  23. oh, I guess I could be mistaken then. I guess I've just never been on a voyage that had that happen. I guess it's best to check with guest relations after you get on board.
  24. The ship will remain in the timezone of it's original departure port. All times announced by the itinerary, cruise compass, and the crew will be based on ship's time. If leaving out of Port Everglades, you (the ship) will be on Eastern Time for the entire voyage.
  25. as long as I don't have to shell out extra for 99% of the drinks I get, I'm ok with this. However, I would not be opposed to taking the built in service charge off the drink packages and just being charged the "would be 18%" on each drink you get if you have the package. This will keep the servers getting their proper gratuities, especially from those heavy drinkers (like me) that they have to tend to more. I do typically pick my favorite server or 2 each day and earmark a little more than the built in gratuity for them, though. It would also be kind of cool to have each server's name attached to the folio record of your order on your seapass card, then additionally have the ability to add extra gratuity for whoever you want to right from your stateroom tv screen.
