    Hello,

This is our first cruise.  We have booked a Grand Suite on Navigator of the Seas in April 2020.  We have also purchased the Unlimited Dining Package (UDP).

Apparently, we can't reserve our dining time for the specialty restaurants until we board the ship according to the UDP verbiage.

I'm curious, will our Suite concierge be able to help us with specialty dining reservations when we board the ship or will we need to go to each restaurant?

Is there any initial contact by our concierge prior to us boarding, where we could get them to go ahead and reserve our dining times for the specialty restaurants?

Any other things the concierge will be able to help us with?  Or any other suggestions on how to take advantage of the concierge service is much appreciated.

Do you tip the concierge daily or at the end?

    Thanks!

When the concierge emails you let them know you have the Unlimited dining package and tell them what times and days you want which restaurant and they will make all the reservations for you ahead of time.. I did it back in Jan and it worked great..

The Coco Beach Club day pass is now listed at $199.00. Glad I purchased it for $50.00. Maybe this is another intern typo.?

Nope it literally is $199 for many Oasis class sailings.. However for my 3 and 4 night sailings its listed at $79-$99

right now the refreshment package is priced at $22 a day. I’ll keep watching the cruise planner to see if the price drops. It’s a 7 night cruise so $22 plus gratuity/ day can add up for someone who mostly drinks water and has an occasional glass of wine.

thank you for your post ?

If you are on an Oasis class ship refreshment package is not going lower than $22.. Last year lowest was $19 but this year I have tracked it and $22 has been the lowest I have seen..

I'm going on a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale to Cozumel Mexico March 12-16 and I was curious if I chose to bid in the RoyalUp program if there is a way I can guarantee a handicap stateroom? I'm in a wheelchair but I would not mind taking advantage of possible cancellations due to the coronavirus scare. However I obviously don't want to spend my money and then get a room I can't even access. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I also need handicap staterooms and as someone said they will not guarantee they upgrade you to an accessible room. I would NOT chance this at all.. The only way you can upgrade would be doing an actual straight upgrade where you call Royal and pay the difference.. Sorry about that.

  5. Hello, I am just curious if anyone else ever had this happen to them.. I am going on Symphony March 21 and I am Diamond Plus and booked in an Oceanview Balcony. When I went to check in I noticed on My boarding pass not only did it say Diamond Plus but it also said Sea Class next to it.. This was odd to me as I am not in a Junior Suite.. I was just curious if this has happened to anyone else? Also just curious if anyone knows why it would say that? Thanks - Stephanie

Thanks all, sounds like the Oasis/Quantum class perks is the items i was vaguely recalling but that didnt roll down to Freedom level.

Still may do it just for larger cabin but its just a 4 nighter to the bahamas so the shows/concierge stuff doesnt have a lot of value since i will just plan on "floating" anyway ?

Also you mentioned you thought the prices were really good.. There is a reason for that. They don't come with as many perks as Oasis or Quantum class so they price these suites less.

there is a lot of talk about "to go" or "not to go". my question is more about the environment on cruises right now and if things aren't normal will it put a damper on the trip (like everyone on the pool deck wearing masks).

Everything is normal on the cruises. No masks its not half empty its fine.. I have a cruise in 23 days on Symphony and I cant wait to go.. Also my cruise is almost fully sold out.. I wish people would cancel so I could get an upgrade lol..

After reading further, I understand there is a specific menu for guests with a dining package to choose from with no extra charge. This menu is supposed to be worth more than the price paid for the package. Because if I add $35x3=$105, it is less expensive than the $115  RCCL asks for their 3 night package… Do I understand right?

I also suppose that the $35 credit may be used if you choose a "à la carte" dish, ie if you do not like the said specific DP menu?

Are the DP menus satisfactory? How many options can you choose from? Are they true to the restaurant theme? Are they as good as "à la carte" dishes?

    Thanks for sharing your experience.

I think you are confused a bit about specialty dining.. There is no dining package menu.. The menu for Chops is the menu from chops and you can order anything on it except the seafood towers and no extra charge.. Chops grill runs about $50 a person.. Most specialty dining is about $50 a person.. So basically if you bought each meal It would cost $150.. So if the package is $115 your saving about $35... The only restaurant like I said that's ala carte is Izumi.. That is the only place you have a $35 limit... Everywhere else you can order multiple apps, 1 entree, multiple side dishes and multiple deserts. I hope this helps..

    Hi,

I'm considering a 3 night dining package. As I understood, I'm allowed a credit for food in any restaurant up to $35. If I want to try any of my favourite food (seafood, upscale restaurant), I will be charged for the difference.

So be it. My question is the following: I'm not a strong eater, I'm happier with a meal with one delicious main dish rather than a starter, a main course and a dessert, which might be too much for me. Does the dining package allow me such flexibility (ie ordering a $35 main course instead of a 3 course menu)? Thanks for your help.

The $35 is only for Ala carte restaurants like Izumi... Chops, Jamie's, 150 Central Park all those places are included in the dining package and you can have as many apps, sides and deserts as you want but only one entree.. So the $35 really only applies to Izumi sushi or play makers

  10. Mine is my old AOL screename and email address since I was 13.. It stands for the name of everyone in my family.. A-Abby (my mom) G-Gary (my dad) S-Stephanie (which is myself) L-Laura ( my little sister) C- Chester (the name of our dog at the time who has since passed) and 5 is my favorite number but also was all of the initials listed.. For years my friends have made fun of me because they said no one has AOL email address anymore.. Well I still do but I have also recently made a gmail account but all my screenames for many websites since I was 13 have always been AGSLC5 so out of habit I keep it.

Hey Chris! I watch your videos on YouTube and I think you do a wonderful job!! I have a casino question for you!

I have earned free drinks while in the casino for my next cruise but I’m wondering if I’m able to pay for some kind of upgrade to Include the rest of the ship? I know I can get a deluxe beverage package but if I’m already getting free drinks in the casino is there a way to extend that to the whole ship for a lower price?

The answer to that is No.. I also am.a prime member and have been since the program came out.. The only option you have is to buy the package or pay as you go.. Or keep running back to the Casino Bar when its open and only get your drinks there..

    Hello,

So me and my wife are going on our first cruise in June 2020
It's a sailing on Harmony of the Seas for 7 nights to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Roatan and Coco Cay.

I'm kind of wondering if we really need all of the extras we've booked.

We have the Unlimited dining package, deluxe beverage package
Coco Beach Club day pass, not to mention shore excursions for every port.

My goal is to not receive an extraordinary bill at the end of our sailing but I recognize we probably don't need all of these extras.  Do you think we have too much booked?
What extras do you normally book for a seven night cruise?

I personally book all the extras you have booked.. I don't like the food in the dining room so I always get an Unlimited dining package.. The drink package is worth it if you drink 4 drinks a day and you probably will. Also Coco Beach Club pass looks amazing I am excited to do it myself.. So I personally think you booked the right things but its really up to you.

I reserved My Time Dining 2 months ago and I dont see the times I requested on my cruise planner. All it says is "At your leisure"  Does this mean I am unable to make reservations for the times I want?  I'm a planner so this is giving me a bit of anxiety as we leave in 2 weeks?

I have seen this before.. Its just an annoying glitch in the system.. Don't worry your reservations will show up onboard

Greetings, I just got my confirmation from my travel agent that I am booked on Anthem for March 2021.
I cannot see the beverage package options, nor can I see the wifi package rates!  I can see the excursions and other things is this normal that I can't yet see pricing on beverages and wifi?

I booked 4 cabins and am in charge of my group of teens/adults, I want to ensure I get them the idea on cost per package etc. so they can figure out what they need to save/jobs they need to get etc.

Also when I searched drink packages I see at some point in the recent past people got the drink package at $18 a day!  Awesomeness for you!  If something like that happens again do you all post messages about it here?  I'd LOVE to get in on that!

So just so you don't bank on this.. the $18 package happened as a complete accident/Glitch.. Royal then felt obligated to honor that price but it was Never intended to go out at that price and let me tell you they are never going to let a glitch like that happen again so I strongly wouldn't bank on that lol.. But if by some miracle it does happen everyone on here will post about it but I cant see it happening.. The deluxe package has just only been going up and up.. Anywhere from $51-$69 per day per person plus 18% service charge.. The refreshment anywhere from $18-$28 plus 18%..

They make money with Chops.  With an endless supply of guests booking it they've cut corners and reduced costs yet guests keep booking it.

Plus it's not the same company.  It's not the same ship painted dark blue.  That's like saying Princess, HAL, Carnival - all the same.

Ok I know its not the exact same company but let me tell you all of their new specialty restaurants on Edge all basically have the same menu as restaurants on Royal.. Except the food on Edge in my opinion tasted better.. I don't know if it was the chefs or the food quality but it was just better.. Also when I say same company I mean the parent company is the same I do realize they are run as separate businesses.

I agree that the sides are pretty pathetic but the main courses have usually been reliably good - not great.

Here is what bothers me about Chops.. I recently went on Celebrity Edge.. Their new steakhouse has basically an identical menu to chops.. The price is about the same.. $55 a person if you don't have a package.. The food from Celebrity's steakhouse tastes so much better.. The sides were delicious the meat was so flavorful. What I don't get is its the same company and your paying the same uncharge so why does Chops have to have inferior food? If its a price issue I am willing to pay a little bit more for better food. I am already paying what's another $10-$15.. If the unlimited package went from $179 to $199 but the food quality dramatically improved sign me up I would pay the extra cost.. I just think if Celebrity can do it why cant Royal lol.. Ok rant over.
