FloatMe reacted to Matt in Allure, lunch, sabor reservations?
You cannot make lunch reservations and frankly, it wont be necessary.  There is a lot of seating and there is so much going on at any given time on Allure, I think you will be fine rolling in for a table at your leisure.

If you are really concerned about it, show up right when they open for lunch.

I'm on the fence! We have oasis booked for November and I would have no problem forgoing that one for the group cruise if it weren't considerably more expensive. I know it's to be expected on the new ship, maybe I'll flip a coin on Tuesday when the new promotion flips around the way they take the same amount of money.

I am a little nervous about our flight out of FLL in November. 11:00am, we will self disembark as soon as we are permitted but I hadn't accounted for the staffing issues the TSA has come out and admitted they are going to have

I'm also TSA precheck and that helps a lot.  While I haven't experienced the delays mentioned above, I have seen serious security crowds at Miami after cruises and the worst in Seattle, where it took us nearly two hours just to check into our flight on a Saturday morning and another hour to get through security.  Fortunately, we had a late afternoon flight, so we didn't have any time pressures.

Keep in mind that most of these issues have been related to system glitches, so this isn't the norm.  In addition, you can go to the TSA's website and see estimated wait times so that you can plan ahead.  Some airports also post real time wait times.

Also notice just his first name on the card?  Tying to imply maybe that we treat our suite guests like family?  Great if you are a suite guest but can make the common normal guest feel unwanted or welcome.  Like the third class Titanic passengers held back out of the first class section as the ship sank.

Welcome to life dealing with travel and TSA. It is only going to get worst, do not see them making improvements. But still much better than many other parts of the world.

If are definitely not getting an Internet package, your best bet is to explore what options your Canadian service provider offers. This options comes with some potential peril! Most international plans include the cellular service provided by the ship. This cell service is good for calls and text only and will still probably cost you a couple of dollars per minute. Just be very aware of what ports and islands your plan covers. Also understand that as soon as the ship enters the port, the ship is required to turn it's cell service off and your phone will connect to the local service if you have not turned it to airplane mode.

Question isn't whether they are tech savvy, are you? Also do you intend on getting an Internet package?what mobile service do you have and which phone/device?

For example I have a galaxy s6 which has wifi calling capabilities without third party apps, so as long as I have wifi I can make calls at no charge to any phone anywhere.

In the past I have also purchased Verizon's international plan for about $50, which gave me the ability to call from the ship (WHILE NOT IN PORT) for a rate of about $2.50/min which is less than the $8 per minute the ship would charge you to use their phone which is always an option.

I have never sailed on Disney, no casino, no fun for me. My TA keeps trying to get me to do a 3 or 4 day cruise but way to expensive. I can get the same thing on RCCL or Princess and have my casino.

What got me hooked on cruising was the idea of visiting different ports during the cruise (and not packing/unpacking for each).  The destinations were (and still are) a big reason why I cruise.

Always loved the water and had boats, when very young it was rowboats and small runabouts at our summer lake house. Then moved on the the ocean and having boats in and around Boston Harbor. So cruising was a natural extension to my activities on the water. But then I saw the great value and that everything was available to guest made it a winner. Now with much bigger ships, more ports and upgraded cruises it has become even better.

Not sure if it's happened before but on Wednesday, November 16th something very cool will take place in St. Maarten: 3 Royal Caribbean ships will be docked there and 3 different classes.

The new Harmony of the Seas, joined by: Anthem of the Seas and Freedom of the Seas. I think it'll be very cool to see Oasis class, Quantum class, and Freedom class all at the same port on the same day! And who knows, maybe I will be reporting "live" from one of them ;) :)

I agree $2 per bag and round up to the nearest denomination in $5 increments. Also, In regards to an unrelated post about bringing soda and water on board, it never hurts to tip the porters a little more if you have affixed a luggage tag to a case of water or diet pepsi.

Candie, have you been on any of the Oasis class ships before ?

The Oasis and Allure are pretty much identical with a couple of very small differences (Solarium Bistro vs Samba Grill) so if you're raving about the Oasis you're probably raving about Allure too.

These ships have some very unique "neighborhoods" like the Boardwalk, which is exactly what it sounds like....a small beach boardwalk area - open to the sky above.  Really unique.  Then there is the Central Park area that is an onboard garden.  Lovely and peaceful.  There are 2 Flowriders if that is of any interest to you and a zip line.  Fun for the kids...not necessarily for me !  There is the ice skating theater which is fun and the shows are top notch.

The ships are massive. That can be a good thing or a bad thing.  Some people don't like the really big ships.  I love them.  So much to do !

Of course, for ME the best part is that these ships have the largest casinos in the fleet.  They are very nice.

FloatMe got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Caribbean 2017-2018 Sailings opening tomorrow for C&A
So, I went from Extremely excited to nervous and expecting to be disappointed. This morning I booked (with our TA at 10:30am) Navigator April 13, 2018 9nt out of miami. The price was rediculously low. We usually book Junior suites, but I got  a grand suite $3600 + tax (9 night, wow). I went back to look at it when I got home from work and that sailing is no longer listed. Just emailed my TA but I'm guessing I will have to wait until tomorrow for an answer??

I noticed a post on CC from a passenger who is currently on Navigator and he was told by the RCCL representative at the next cruise desk that they will be releasing the new caribbean deployments on Thursday the 14th.
