  1. A couple of photos of where it is on my planner. https://goo.gl/photos/SJUzWuKUpR4FkBvW8
  2. I received a cruise certificate from the casino host on Allure a few weeks ago, but on the back, conditions #1 and #14 say that it can only be used for new bookings? Is it your experience that I might be able to use it for payment on one of the cruises I already have booked?
  3. No rewards card for the casino, but they will ask for your sea pass at each table you play. If you play A LOT the casino host may reach out to you with invitation to their royal casino program. (I have no idea how much you have to spend and you may need to play A LOT on more than one cruise.) I actually did receive $100 cruise certificate from the host at the end of our last cruise. It was useless to me becausee of the specific conditions, but it was a nice gesture. I always play craps, put $400 in play on 10 seperate occasions, and was close to even at the end of the cruise. I would love to know how much you have to play (and on how many cruises) to get in their invitation only program? I believe there is a thread here with some additional info.
  4. Just out of curiousity, which ship and sailing was she pushing this for?
  5. Crown & Anchor members do get "Priority boarding" in or order of your tier level and after suite class guests. as I recall you Wil have a designated seating area as gold members and you when with the rest of the gold members prior to non members. it is a quick process, particularly if you arrive early. we recently arrived at port everglades at 10:40am and we were on the ship (Allure) by 11:30.
  6. I would tend to agree with you, but Matt seemed to indicate otherwise in his periscope yesterday. so I thought I would pose the question. I will call our TA on Saturday. This group is often more informed than he is though :P
  7. So, as i understand the upcoming sale, i can book a 7 nt sailing in a suite and would be eligible for $300 OBC in addition to $100 for the current November promotion. My question is; can i book any sailing and then change to a different sailing and retain all the OBC? Specifically could it be moved to a cruise that has not even been released yet (i.e. a fall 2018 or spring 2019 cruise). Obviously i would habe to initially book a cruise in late 2017, then once the new itineraries are released then change the booking? Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Blessed
  8. My wife and I did the 4x4 monster jeep & Virgin beach excursion in Cozumel and it was fantastic. Rarely does a description live up to its billing. You drive your own jeep, and it was legitimate off road experience. The trailing guide vehicle actually got stuck and our jeep had to pull them out. At the half way point you see a small mayan ruin then off to the "Virgin" beach. Again, color me surprised! There was a small branch and thatch lean to on a beach with no one else in sight where we ate lunch and swam for about an hour. Probably the best ship excursion we have done in a long time. Here are a few photos https://goo.gl/photos/hSFMPcFACtYu3o7a9
  9. Welcome! Although I have never been on on Harmony, we just got off of Allure a couple of weeks ago and we love cruising so much that my wife and I got married at sea last year. the one piece of advice I have for your first cruise is to NOT over research and to NOT over plan everything. I would suggest traditional MDR dining and only eating in one specialty restaurant during the week. It is a little harder not to plan on harmony since you should book your entertainment in advance, but the magic of our first cruise was the wonderment of the unknown. We still enjoy eating dinner at a large table of strangers that, in most cases, are fast friends by the end of the cruise. For our first cruise, the only thing we had researched was which excursions we would be doing while in ports. Having no expectations going in, we had an absolutely magical experience. Our first cruise was in 2009 and looking back, as I often do, I wouldn't change a thing.
  10. If the last few years is any indication, RCCL seems to push back their deployment release several times, by several weeks each. So if they say January I think we will be lucky to see them by March :)
  11. Just checked my history while on Allure Oct 30, 2016; 10000ms/3.49 down/3.08 up, and I never had any issues with video calls or periscopes
  12. Enjoy Adventure! That's not awful, I'm not positive but I think I remember that on Allure two weeks ago I was at 3.5down and 3.2 up
  13. These were delivered to our cabin, just as you see them, each with its own luggage tag. Last week on Allure. THE worst that can happen, is that they don't show, but I'm 3 for 3. :)
  14. Not knowing how much OBC credit you recieved, this may be moot. However, remember that gratuities for a 7 nite cruise are in the $190 range. With this in mind I always prefer to book our excursions before the cruise just to insure we don't get closed out of the more popular ones. if you have considerably more OBC, then you have a wonderful dilemma :)
  15. We are on Allure right now, and I just did a speed check Ping=10000ms 3.44mb down 3.20mb up
  16. Certainly verify this for yourself, but the the end price should be identical. As I understand it your TA lists your cruise price as the part of the fare which is commissionable (new word) all the rest as taxes and fees. I wish all the cruise lines were more upfront about what we are actually paying for, i.e. frontier, spirit, allegiant air. but in the end, not to worry, the final price should be the same. They just do the math differently.
  17. We have sailed Adventure twice from San Juan which had completEly different southern itineraries. I would blissfully repeat either if the cruises over and over!
  18. I'm booked on Freedom 2nd week of November 2017 out of Port Everglades. I really hope the ship will be there! ;)
  19. Not new. Although, you get virtually none of the other suite perks, you have always received double points for staying in a junior suite. I have not heard any specific rumors, but I would expect that to change sometime in future. I heard they had 2000+ diamond members on an upcoming harmony sailing.
  20. I agree with Matt. $400 to $500 pp is reasonable for us on Oasis class. Of course you have to consider the hidden cost. The JS is the gateway drug to suite life and you will pay dearly down the road when you "just once" have to stay in a grand suite, then an owners suite... of a sudden you have a royal genie at your barefoot beach cabana on labadee while the consierge is coordinating a predinner party in your aqua theater suite. Seriously though, we really enjoy the extra space! I'm a bit of a neatnik and it seems easier to keep up a larger area. The JS is just large enough to enjoy room service inside the cabin and the sitting area is nearest to the balcony which is important to me.
  21. Does anyone know what bottled sparkling water options are available with the refreshment package?
  22. The automatic gratuities are paid in USD. Your CC on file would presumably convert to the appropriate exchange rate?
  23. USD or credit card everywhere. Do carry small bills. I once stopped for a water at a LOCAL shop while on a run and only had a $20US. I got $19.50 back in converted pesos. That was 4 years ago and the pesos are still in my change jar on the laundry machine.
  24. You know that you are addicted to cruising if you visit this website more than once a day😀
  25. This is what I generally spend in cash once we leave our pre-cruise hotel. I welcome comments; cheapskate, reasonable or overboard? Porters at the pier $2.50/bag ×4 bags twice = $20 Excursion guide $5.00/person × 3excursions = $30 Excursion bus driver $2.50/person × 3excursions = $15 Cab driver to and from pier $2.50/bag ×4 bags twice = $10 Cab driver at port of call $5.00 × ? To and from = $10 Room service $5.00 twice per cruise = $10 Extra for room attendant assuming fabulous friendly service $20 Total $115 Casino $yikes
