SPS reacted to Ampurp85 in Anthem & Potential Coronavirus
I read on another board that Anthem seems to have sailed with about 3000 pax. If that is the case it is actually not a bad turnout. I even had people at work talking about this itinerary/sailing. Two coworkers finally took the plunge and booked because they thought the way RCC handled everything was quite amazing.

We decided to go to Spectra’s Cabaret tonite. We found our way to the upper deck of 270 and Dan sat down while I went to use restroom.  On my way back to our seats I just happened to spot Yen waiting by the theater door.  I said “hello” but kept on walking as I knew, from experience, that she was waiting for some Star Class pax to arrive.  She stopped me and asked if we were here for the show; I said “yes, we’re sitting upstairs”.  She asked me if we wanted to sit up front, downstairs, that she had some seats reserved that she was not going to use.  I was very surprised and touched that she would invite us to sit in her SC reserved seats.  I went up, got Dan and went back down to enjoy the show from the front row.  She even offered to get us drinks but we declined.  I would never, ever, ever ask her to do anything like that and was very flattered that she offered.  She is a sweetie.  We enjoyed the show very much, as we did twice last year.

Shoved off right on time at 3:00 on the dot. The Captain took us for a harbor tour around the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan.  The weather completely sucked but it was still a really nice trip.  I had heard that they did this from time-to-time, but had never been lucky enough to have it happen for us.

    Sorry....bad picture.  I’m no a Twangster.

SPS got a reaction from KristiZ in Offers Preloaded on Sea Pass Card?
On our January 25th sailing on Vision, this was changed entirely. The token machine near the cashier was gone. (Could see where it was once installed).
Instead, we were given $6 of free play loaded to each of our Sea Pass cards (Platinum level). The cashier gave us a small piece of paper with instructions on how to load and redeem our credit.
I was lucky enough to turn that $6 into $15 on a slot machine of my choice.
Also, the last night raffle was listed in the cruise compass. When we asked about it, the cashier let us know that each guest in automatically enrolled, provided they have inserted their sea pass into any of the gaming machines at any point during the cruise. The prize was $500 if you were present for the drawing, $400 if you were not.

Cancellations onboard do happen.  Just go the shore excursion desk right away before they get really busy.
Personally, I'd use trip advisor to search for a similar excursion from a 3rd party.  Many 3rd parties offer the same excursion to RC as well as the public and often for less than RC charges.

I'd like to add that another advantage of taxi service in San Juan is the flat rate price from zone to zone. (+bags).  I found this helpful for our last two cruises.

I prefer the tea lights as well. They don't take up outlet space, which is at a premium.

I’m on Enchantment of the Seas right now as well. I have a different perspective.
Tuesday afternoon a 600 foot tanker ran into an 80 foot fishing boat at the entrance to the Houston-Galveston Ship Channel. 1 person confirmed dead, 1 person in the hospital. The Coast Guard abandoned the search for two other missing crew members today and they are presumed dead. The crew of the Pappy’s Pride fishing boat and their families are having a horrible week, much worse than I ever hope you or I have. I’m happy to be enjoying time on a cruise ship with my family this week.
Due to this tragedy there has been NO ship traffic in or out of the ports of Houston, Galveston, or Texas City since Tuesday afternoon.  The economic impact of shutting down tanker and other ship traffic in this area is staggering.
After Enchantment waited offshore all day, the Coast Guard was gracious enough to allow her into port Wednesday afternoon as she passed within yards of the wreckage site at a very slow speed while the responders were still securing the wrecked vessel, controlling the environmental damage, and searching for two missing human beings.
After waiting all last night and all day today, Enchantment was escorted out of port this afternoon in heavy fog with two pilot boats off our bow to ensure we safely traversed the fog. I was deeply moved as we passed the crash site at a very slow speed so as not to disturb the small fleet of boats and the crane platform that were continuing the recovery operation in the channel.
Enchantment of the Seas was the ONLY ship allowed to come in or out of the area since Tuesday afternoon. Then Carnival Dream was finally allowed in this evening after she waited offshore all day. As of this moment the area remains closed to all other ship traffic. Only a few small service boats have been allowed in the area.
Royal Caribbean provided text and email updates about every two hours yesterday as we waited to learn when we could board. Enchantment’s captain provided several updates last night after we boarded, and several more updates throughout the day today. There was little information that they could provide because they had no control over the weather or the tragic situation in the Galveston Jetties, but they checked in with us regularly to let us know they were communicating with authorities and trying to get us underway. They also did not offer false hope or speculation  because they knew the situation was fluid and telling us one thing and then changing their story would have drawn much criticism.
We’re now underway to Cozumel and I’ve been having a great time, all things considered. I’ve used my cell phone as a tool to find out as much as I could about what was happening with our situation, much of which is spelled out above.
May God bless the crew of Pappy’s Pride and their families. May those who perished Rest In Peace.

@FionaMG is correct. I 'd like to add that you'll also need the luggage tags that are in the last pages of the eDoc. Just print out as many of that page as you'll need to attach one to each bag you will check with the porters at the port.

NOTHING you can pre-purchase will be cheaper on board.
Also, look at it this way: Having cruise planner items purchased beforehand keeps you from having to worry about how much your are spending during your vacation. Everything is already taken care of and lets you set your mind at ease, as it should be on a vacation.

Odyssey October 2021 Italy/Greece. 9 nights with overnight in Athens. Will spend a few days in Rome before cruise. So Excited! This itinerary has been on my radar for a few years. Each year we cruise to celebrate another year cancer free. This cruise will be the 5 year mark. I was given a 15% chance to make it 5 years. I have every intention of making this cruise. Stage 4B endometrial cancer. I also have Lynch Syndrome which is a hereditary cancer gene that puts me at risk for another 12 cancers. So looking forward to living life to the fullest!

SPS reacted to WAAAYTOOO in FCC and Price Drops
Here's a truly bizarre FCC rule that few know about.  You can actually apply an FCC to a paid-in-full cruise.  I thought maybe I was misunderstanding when my Michelle first told me this but she actually applied our (much maligned) Oasis FCC to a future cruise that had already been paid in full.  The full value of the FCC ended up being a credit on our credit card.  I was very surprised that they actually allowed this, but they did.  So while they say that the FCC has no cash value, it actually CAN be, in a way...it can go to your CC as a credit.  ALMOST the same as getting cash back.
  25. Thanks

Current 2020 on board CAS offers.  These are from Anthem but pretty standard across the fleet and if nothing else validation that not much has changed.
