SPS got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Giovanni's Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar - Odyssey of the Seas
@MelKapsThanks for posting this. We are sailing on Odyssey in January of '22 and I was hoping to see the wine list ahead of time.
I know my wife will want to stop by there some tastings.

They should have waited until I won this week's PowerBall. I would have bid $225M. 🙂

BTW, welcome to the message boards, @Laurasea! You'll find a lot of good RC Cruising information here.

FYI: It is not the only ship not listed, but, it is expected that all the ships will be added to the app as Royal plans to have guests utilize the app more in the near future.
i.e. Muster Drills, Check-In, Cruise Compass, etc.

SPS got a reaction from Bazza in How do I pre-pay gratuities?
@BazzaThe pre-paid gratuities are a daily gratuity for your stateroom attendant, head waiter, server, and assistant server.
The bartenders are not part of the daily/pre-paid gratuities and are tipped by each individual charge. That is why an additional 18% is added to the drink package price.

Does anyone think that $201M for three cruise ships and all the branding sounds rather cheap?
I know they are smaller/older ships, but still.

The figure I saw for Pursuit was 150M GBP, which would have made them closer to $600M. And you thought the depreciation on cars was bad!

SPS reacted to HighlandBoy in Is OBC from cancelled cruises supposed to be carried over?
I had a cruise cancelled last year which had been booked using a NextCruise certificate. I called to re-book a new cruise and the OBC was transferred to the new booking not sure if it would have been without calling in.

1. Sail out of Baltimore in January. Rough seas in the western Atlantic that time of year and too cool for the first two days. (Unfortunately, It only got up to 70 & cloudy in Nassau)
2. If Possible, not go to Nassau again. (just stay on board if we do end up there)
3. Dragon's Breath Flight Line in Ladadee. Too much money for a SHORT experience.
4. Never done this, but, be a volunteer for The Quest. 😆

I can’t find a single redeeming thing about Nassau. I find it to be a garbage dump personally w/ pushy locals and not much to see or do (safely). For us, Nassau, Falmouth & Honduras are days to enjoy an empty ship.

YIPPEE !!! We are booked. Feb 20 14 nights. 2 BR Grand Suite on the aft. While we were booking our room the other 2 BR GS got snatched up, too. They are going fast. Super great price, IMO. They gave us a casino discount, resident discount, and balcony discount. There was a military discount too but it was the same as the resident discount so we just took the resident so we don't have to worry about bringing a DD214 to the port.
Really excited about this one !!

My wife and I were team leaders for one of our first cruises. We still attend and participate, but not doing the team leader thing again. LOL

Hmm... think I'll sit this one out!
Not to mention they were charging $1859 for the 14 night itinerary on the AUS site. Which even after currency conversion is still almost double.

I just selected some random dates...nothing in particular.
It appears that there is 1 non-stop flight from CLT - GBI
There is 1 non-stop flight from MIA for the same dates.
Everything for AA seems to go through either MIA or CLT.

I guess the idea of Barbados as an embarkation port shouldn’t come as such a surprise. During the worst of the COVID travel restrictions, Barbados was one of the only countries that allowed crew to fly in and out from. I think it would be great if Royal rewarded Barbados by making it an embarkation port.
There are those posters who have advocated, for some time, that Royal should have a Caribbean embarkation port. Perhaps this will be it !

14 days in the Southern Caribbean for $749PP?!?!?!?!? Man that sounds nice. I'm gonna save up my PTO! (Easy to do right now with nowhere to go!)
Relocate to Barbados? DO IT! This past year has proved we can work from anywhere!

SPS reacted to coneyraven in Grandeur Home Ported in Barbados
The way I found it was going in through "Ships" --- then selecting Grandeur, and lo and behold, sailings pop up ---- what really made it so wonky is that all the descriptions of the ship still referenced Baltimore, Bermuda and Canada sailings and such. Also, the sailing having times on certain days without a port or mentioning a Sea Day tells me things are still being put together. I think we unintentionally just got a sneak peak at things to come. New and creative itineraries, which seems to be the trend. For examples, sailings from Florida going to Bermuda --- that's new stuff right there.
