  1. In addition to the conferences mentioned above, they have other uses as well. 3 years ago, we received an invitation by RC to participate in a survey session on Freedom early on embarkation day. A representative asked us and another couple about our thoughts and impressions on several current and potential cruising aspects in one of the conference rooms and we were compensated with a AmEx gift card. Snacks and refreshments were also served. The whole thing was about 15-20 minutes of our time. They had arranged for several small groups to participate throughout the day until time of sailing.
  2. No. They do need to remain in their individually sealed blue boxes. You may want to take a photo of the QR code on the brown box as some have mentioned the QR code is not on the newer blue boxes. (Can anyone confirm this?)
  3. Sorry, @SimonLynn couldn't resist!
  4. The EARLIEST check-in times might not be available when check-in opens. So, you may want to check back periodically. When check-in opened for our upcoming Odyssey sailing, Noon-12:30 was the earliest time available, which I chose. One week later, 11:00-11:30 became available, so I updated our check-in to the earlier time.
  5. FYI: If you just want to, you can just log in to grab a desired Check-In Time and return later to fill in the rest of the information when you are more Alert and/or Caffeinated. Also, you may want to use the app to take pictures of your vax cards for upload unless you have them scanned to your computer.
  6. That's odd. I just checked my inbox and I received the Royal Up email at 53 days to go.
  7. Ugh! That is ridiculous. Do you still have the ones that expire the week after Odyssey?
  8. We went from Interior to Balcony. We generally cheap out and get an interior room so we can put more money toward excursions, dining, drinks, etc. We have a real "just get us on the ship!" mentality. Like I said, though, our fare ended up being so low that bidding extra to get a balcony was still more than reasonable. PS: Don't tell my wife we got a balcony, it's a surprise!
  9. My Royal Up bid was just accepted this morning a full two weeks ahead of the sail date. My bid was right in the middle of the "Fair" category. I'm thinking that I probably could have gotten it a lower price, but I got our original fare so low with a re-price that our total price after the upgrade is still more than worth it! BTW, does anyone know when our eDocs with the new luggage tags might be updated? Our Set Sail passes are updated on the app and on the website, but the eDoc PDF still have our previous deck and room number listed. ***UPDATE*** I asked Royal Caribbean through a DM on Twitter about new eDocs. In UNDER 2 MINUTES, I received a response that I should expect new eDocs within 48 hours of my bid being accepted. ***UPDATE 2*** Exactly 7 hours after received my Royal Up upgrade email, I received an email containing my new eDocs.
  10. Why not? After all, the new CEO, Jason Liberty, has a ship named after him!
  11. Does ONE bottle count as only ONE drink?
  12. I think @Natalfaz is asking about onboard quarantines.
  13. If they didn't want you to have alcohol at breakfast time, they wouldn't make alcoholic drinks with breakfast beverages! (Orange juice, tomato juice, coffee, etc.)
  14. I know that the current Low/High temperatures for the ports is listed, but, I think a more complete weather forecast would be helpful. (At least for the current and next day) (Does James Van Fleet read this forum? )
  15. In that case, Cafe Promenade, perhaps?
  16. My opinion for several years now: FedEx is THE WORST delivery company out there!
  17. On January 9th, Chris posted on Twitter that he has two more weeks left on Odyssey. The next day he posted that after 7 months onboard, he NEVER got Covid.
  18. As primarily winter time cruisers living in Michigan, I agree with @rjac. Simply because we can't predict what the weather will be like, we always book flights to arrive the day before and have a bit of a buffer in case of delays/cancellations.
  19. This screenshot from the top of the sample menu made me hopeful, but yeah, the app show similar hours. They vary a bit based on being a sea day or port day.
  20. Does El Loco Fresh no longer serve breakfast (or just not during the current protocols)? Sample menus on the Royal Caribbean website indicate a breakfast selection from 8:00-11:00, but the RC App indicates that it is only open in the afternoon to early evenings on our upcoming Odyssey sailing. I was really looking forward to having a Mexican style breakfast every morning.
  21. For anyone else that comes across this topic, I was fortunate enough for my wife to give me tickets to Dream Theater for Christmas! February 22 at the Fillmore in Detroit!
  22. Well, at least you still get to go then!
  23. On our last cruise on Vision in January 2020 (Two years ago? sigh.) We observed a mock water rescue being performed by the lifeguard staff one morning. I can't remember all the details, but, it was very impressive to watch. I would assume that these drills are performed regularly for the staff to stay sharp.
  24. This is for an excursion, not the port stop. They've even advised you to look at other options in the cruise planner later in the message. FYI: "for operational reasons" can mean a host of things from business closures to staffing issues to no longer having a service contract with Royal Caribbean. I also agree with @AspiringCruisePlanner, you may want to update the topic title to address that it is for an excursion, not the port stop.
