Drewmommy reacted to twangster in Navigator Pricing Error and Revenue Mgmt
Last week I received an email from revenue management letting me know that my March bookings involved a pricing error but they would honor the bookings.
I had two suite cabins booked, one for me and another for a family member.  To give you an idea of the error involved my suite would normally go for 234% more while the other suite would normally be 255% more each on a solo basis given our unique qualifiers (CAS status, age, state, etc).  Both suites have the capacity for 6 guests.  I had booked both suites with a single guest in each cabin.
I offered to let the bookings go.  An email exchange followed that turned into a game of phone tag as we both worked around busy schedules but we eventually talked on the phone.
Revenue management was very clear I could keep the bookings and they would honor the pricing.  They requested the phone call to make sure I understood they would honor them.  I told her to cancel them.
I didn't feel right taking advantage of what was clearly a pricing error.  I knew it was a error when I booked it and give Royal a lot of credit for offering to honor the bookings despite the thousands of dollars they would lose by doing so.
A family of four booked in one of these suites would have gone for 500% more than I was booked for.  Between the two suites it amounted to an error that would cost Royal over $10k in revenue if both suites were booked at capacity not to mention losses in gratuity and onboard spending.
Simply stated it didn't sit right with me to take advantage of the company especially during these dark times with so much lost due to the pandemic.
Call me a fool but I slept better knowing I did the right thing.
BTW - nice people in revenue management.

I actually asked my TA about this today. He said that names on a reservation can be changed up to the point that a manifest is sent to the ship, without it being an issue. That's apparently about 2 weeks before sail date.

Yes.  It should be.  If you already have 3 on the original, anyone you add at this point should be paying what #3 is paying, just like what @GregD said.  I did this recently too and the price held.

This is correct. I've added someone months after an initial booking, and they are paying the same rate as the original passengers.

Anthem is an odd beast. They started off with no regular dining, just what they called Dynamic Dining (basically, everyone did MyTime Dining). Part of that plan was that they had no main dining room; instead, there were four separate smaller dining rooms, each with a different theme and menu.
Last year, after a lot of negative feedback, they did away with Dynamic Dining and went back to the same dining plan used everywhere else. So now all four of the dining rooms serve the same menu; two of the dining rooms (All American Grill and Silk, on deck 4) are dedicated to MyTime Dining passengers, and the other two (Chic and Grande on deck 5) are dedicated to traditional dining passengers.

We have been to Bermuda only 1 time and found it really enjoyable and easy to get around.  We took the city bus and used it as a hop on/hop off bus.  Plus we found the people friendly and as a plus, they speak English.  :-)  I don't remember anything specific but you always have beach, snorkeling, fishing, shopping, and so on.  We are looking to book Bermuda again soon also.     The itinerary question is interesting.  We are D+ on Royal and Elite on Celebrity so ship and sometimes even cabin aren't a major concern.  The ship feeds us and gives us a place to sleep.  Example is we just booked a Montreal to Boston on Royal in 2019 because we have never been to Montreal and Quebec.  At this point we are thinking about canceling because airfare is more than we choose to pay.  Also flight scheduling and travel time is horrible.  10 hours travel time with 1 or 2 stops just to get to Canada?!?  We fly only AA for the points.

I bought the refreshment package, mainly for the unlimited soda. That was of course before I went to the Dr. and found out I have type 2 diabetes. So, I gave up soda cold turkey, 10 weeks ago.
I kept the package though, because
    1) I'm a big latte drinker so I can see myself drinking at least 3-4 a day. Just skim milk, now.
    2) I also enjoy a good spicy virgin Mary, before breakfast, and sometimes a virgin cocktail with dinner.
    3) I'm also drinking a lot of water all day now. Bottled water is included in the refreshment package.
When I  added all these together, did some math, and with the fact that I got the package on sale for only $18.50 a day, plus gratuities. It still made sense, at least for me,  to keep the package, even if some of the beverages offered, I'm no longer partaking in.

In the "old" days, it would be an issue because they'd have your preferred drink waiting for you when you sat down. However, this level of service is long gone.

Exactly my point .... who cares who sits at the eight tables ..... just sit, relax, and enjoy.

Honestly, I cannot see where they even need to be consulted about this.  Just do it.  What are they going to say ?  It's none of their business who sits where so long as you are sitting at tables that are assigned to you.  It's just like asking permission to sleep in your daughter's stateroom.  Nobody needs to know where you are sleeping as long as it's a room that you paid for and have "ownership" of.

Yes, of course.  They won't mind if you switch seats within your assigned tables.

The shower has a hand-held shower head, so you one parent could shower with them and let the kid(s) sit on the ground.  Or you could just leave them on the ground and pull the shower head down to apply water when washing them.
If a tub is a big deal, Junior Suites and above have them.

There are also blow up tubs you can look at, but we have always been able to use the handheld shower head.

We'll be cruising with friends who have toddlers.  How do you handle the bath situation since there is only a shower in regular cabins?

Not sure I remember the length correctly or not, but I am sure we met in the MDR around 9:30 or 10:30 and did not finish until lunchtime.

If your like me and want to know every detail about the ship you are on it is amazing.  I did the all access tour on the Allure two years ago. The only caution I would give is that you need to be a mobile person as the tour uses the crew stairwells and they are a lot steeper and smaller treads than the public stairwells. Our tour started in the MDR where we entered the galley and got a snack, then onto the food storage areas which is in the "I-95 corridor", then the laundry facility, next was the engine control room,  after that we went to crew bar and library area where we were served drinks, then onto the backstage view of the Amber theater, and the final stop was touring the bridge. As I said earlier mobility is key so this might not be one for small children or older adults.  Also if I remember correctly they did not allow any video recording, but they did  allow still photography.

Nearly everyone raves about the tour.  If you have never done a behind-the-scenes tour on a cruise ship before, I think you will enjoy it too.

I've heard good things about the tour, but haven't experienced it myself. I always thought it was closer to $150, so that seems like a good price in comparison.

I have not done the All Access Tour on Allure but have on other ships.  $119 is an excellent price.  I highly recommend it.  You get to see a lot of areas of the ship  that you will never, otherwise, see.
