  1. That is cabin 7708, port side aft on Freedom class ships(Independence, Freedom, Liberty)). Same as 7688 and 7388 on Voyager class ships(Navigator, Voyager, Explorer, Adventure). Below is a pic from 7388, starboard/aft on Navigator.
  2. On Freedom and Voyager class ships, you are a bit removed from the ships wake on the aft balconies. However, I would book one anytime. This pic is from deck 7 corner aft looking down. You can see that we do have some view of the balconies on deck 6, but not a lot.
  3. Agree with this. On Voyager and Freedom class ships, the corner aft on deck 7 are the most desirable for view and size. On Radiance and Vision class ships, all the aft balconies have the view and that sound. Its like the sound of being on a balcony at the beach with the churning water. These balconies are larger(deeper) than a side balcony. People sometimes say they don't want an aft balcony because of the long walk to the elevators or anywhere for that matter. While this is true, we don't mind a bit. This is a deck 9 aft on the Brilliance(9658). Second pic is Serenade(7176)
  4. Amen, have to call this morning. JS we just upgraded to yesterday has dropped $150 overnight. Now the JS is only $140 more than the balcony we had booked originally.(9 night Canada/New England)
  5. My Jan.12 sailing on the Vision had CC replaced by Miami ! I will trade you Miami for Grand Bahama.
  6. Yes, you will retain the OBC from onboard booking even if there is a price drop.
  7. I believe this is current info except for the $600 cap. This was copied a couple years ago. And as stated above, it's the same price as when you book at home. You only get the OBC as listed below. It's not much for shorter cruises, but when we do 15/16 day T/As in a balcony we have gotten that $250 a few times. We do all our research on the future sailing before boarding our current cruise and make a quick stop once onboard and book the cruise. They charge me $250 ......I now have a cruise booked for $250 downpayment that comes with $250 OBC. The last one we booked like this was about 10 months ago. And YES, when you book, it gets credited to your TA of record. If you don't have a TA on record with RCI, you have 60 days to SELL your booking to a TA of your choice. Now you get the TA perks as well as the OBC from RCI. It's a way of getting all the possible benefits out of a booking. Booking a specific cruise ------------------------- •5-7 night cruises ◦Interior/Oceanview: $50 ◦Balcony/Junior Suite: $100 ◦Grand Suite and above: $200 •8-10 night cruises ◦Interior/Oceanview: $100 ◦Balcony/Junior Suite: $150 ◦Grand Suite and above: $300 •11-14 night cruises ◦Interior/Oceanview: $150 ◦Balcony/Junior Suite: $200 ◦Grand Suite and above: $400 •15 nights or longer cruises ◦Interior/Oceanview: $200 ◦Balcony/Junior Suite: $250 ◦Grand Suite and above: $500
  8. Get an internet package onboard and enable wifi calling on your phone(do this BEFORE the trip). Has become the new norm and make calls from any place we have been. You can also just purchase a 24 hour(one day) Voom pass if you have to check in only on specific occasions.
  9. Wallyworld.......about $20. Used it a couple times now.
  10. Haven't found one yet that we didn't like. We book these on most sailings. Some are better than others though. Have heard people complain about the aft balconies on Radiance class deck 7 as they were on top of the aft lounge on deck 6. We tried one once and although we could hear some music, it wasn't enough to keep me from sleeping. We would book a deck 7 aft again. Same could be said for the Vision class ships. For size alone, the Voyager class 7388, 7688, are very large. As are the Freedom class 7708, and 7408. On these , the hammock is a must.
  11. You make your own passwords when you sign up for the first time.
  12. The basic Surf package will handle wifi calling and texting. We make several calls home every trip.
  13. Crown and Anchor points are awarded by days at sea. One point per day per person for Interior, OV, and balcony. Two points per day per person for suite bookings. You are speaking in terms of number of sailings. If these sailings you refer to are 14 or 21 days, you would move up rather quickly. I think this is still current info. Looks like the largest jump is between Platinum and Emerald.
  14. Try https://www.cruiseplum.com/last-minute-deals. Buttons at top for "hot deals" and "last minute deals". One of the ones I like to browse regularly.
  15. That and the prices. I almost fell out of my chair looking at a couple European River Cruises.
  16. No, you won't get any OBC or a refund after final payment date. The only thing you can do is upgrade. If you book an inside cabin and after final payment date, the price drops below what you paid, you can(and should) price an oceanview or balcony. If the oceanview is the same or less, you can upgrade for free(still no refund). Sometimes the balcony cabin drops down to be only a couple hundred more than you paid for your interior. You can pay the difference to upgrade. RCI is always willing to accept more money. None of the above has anything to do with paying off your cruise before final payment date. Before final payment date you can (and should) reprice and get your money back if you pay off before final payment date. If you haven't paid off early, you will just owe less. Probably 60% of the time, we change cabins between booking and sailing. Better location, up to a higher class, price reduction on a certain class of cabin, etc., etc....................
  17. Have tried both several times. Surf and Stream is faster, but it is still not much. Sometimes when we get to a port like Key West or other where my AT&T LTE will be free, It's great to turn on the iPhone hot spot and watch how fast the MacBook is compared to Surf and Stream.
  18. Our first T/A was on the Allure, had only one stop in Malaga before arriving in Barcelona. We enjoyed it, but for following T/A's decided to go more for itinerary. For us, going across on a floating amusement park was OK, but the places you see have more impact. The Radiance and Vision class ships turned out to be very enjoyable. Some sailings have only a stop or two. On the Serenade this April, FLL to Azores> Cork, Ireland> LeHavre,France> Bruges,Belgium> Amsterdam,Holland> Copenhagen,Denmark. When we did the Jewel sailing mentioned above FLL> 3 stops Canary Islands> Gibraltar,GB> Alicante,Spain> Rome,Italy. I guess my point is, if you are going to do either the T/A or Euro/Med, compare a T/A that actually goes places you want to see and have a combo T/A and Med sailing. Just some thoughts to consider.
  19. Really not sure what the question is, but try this ................ I think you can just login on the RCI website, your upcoming cruises should come up. Just click on Update check in/ SetSail Pass. On the following page, there is a button under "Step 4" saying "print"....click on it. On the next page there is a button saying "Print set sail pass", click on it. The following page will show your set sail pass with a PRINT button at the top. If you are 41 days out you should also be able to print your luggage tags out.
  20. Yes you can. Go talk to the host when you board(at the entrance to the dining room on the deck with MTD). Tell them your preference and dining time. It is easier if you dine early(before 6) or at the first turn around time(7:30 ish).
  21. Tour of Harrisons Cave was different, we liked it.
  22. Been bringing one of these for the last 3 years and dozen cruises. Get it at Wally World for $14, use it and give it to your cabin attendant when done. Always in the carry on bag.
  23. Swap back and forth as needed. We do IPhone for wifi calling, log off, then log on with laptop, etc., etc. It is for 1 device at a time. Any device...........
