"Love at Sea" Complaint
craftycruiselady replied to Sea Squirrel's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I watched it on Tubi. I didn't realize they ever showed it in the cabins, though to be honest I almost never turn the tv on when I'm sailing. Have you seen Like Father on netflix? -

Chances of other dining packages being added?
craftycruiselady replied to Pooch's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
I was wondering the same thing. I noticed the 3 day is missing on all of my currently booked cruises. I hope this is not a new change to only do 5 days. It's way too much for us, especially on older ships with less options like you said. I keep holding out hope for my cruises next year it shows up. I am on Voyager next year 2x. -
I have noticed it with hotels sometimes too. I'm not sure if it's because the rooms are bigger, demand or to discourage people from booking them that don't need them but it chaps me a lot. My guess is with Royal it's because picking your own room is now a lot more than gty and you have to pick your room with accessible cabins.

What to do in Galveston/Houston?
craftycruiselady replied to Kraye's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
If you make it to Pleasure Pier, there is a restaurant Fish Tales on the corner, across from the Pier. It's good, it's a nice view and they have ice cream. -

Can you use coffee cards on 2 sailings
craftycruiselady replied to egd207's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
I did, twice on the same ship. I was even told I could by the cafe staff. I did cross out the old cabin # and put in the new one in pen so they would put the right one down to get their share of gratuities. -

Why is utopia not mentioned here?
craftycruiselady replied to ApexoftheSeas's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I think a lot of that is their entire childhood if they are 22 or younger was one disaster after another. They are very YOLO. They were born under 9/11, they graduated under Covid. They are like if I don't do this now I might be dead tomorrow so whatever. The economy crashed in their youth too and they may have been affected by a home loss or something in 2008. -

Royal won't enforce it because if they give the idea that you actually have to watch your children and not just run off into the nearest bar they will have less family bookings and less money. I agree they need to do more about that situation but they won't. My husband wants to try the mega ships and I don't for this reason. Before I get hate mail, I don't hate kids or expect a kid free experience. I expect parents to watch their kids and follow basic rules so we can all enjoy our trips, not just the parents of the kids not being watched.

Cape canaveral with symphony of the seas
craftycruiselady replied to Willem's topic in Shore Excursions
Traffic can be brutal, with what it costs to go to US for the day and how long lines are it's not worth it IMO. You could pay $100+ to ride one or two things and risk missing the ship. You are no less than 45 minutes to an hour away from the ship and that is if you don't hit traffic or any accident. -

St. Croix Excursions (Or Lack, Thereof?)
craftycruiselady replied to SPS's topic in Shore Excursions
We didn't book anything. You can see turtles right off the dock and snorkel right there. Louis and Nacho's bar is a great place for lunch if you like tacos. We didn't make it to the beach because it was pouring rain but it looked ok if we had. -

Grand Turk,Turks & Caicos

I will have to file that away for next time :). I was with elderly family who did not want to walk far so we stopped as soon as we hit the first patch of beach. Thanks! -
Grand Turk,Turks & Caicos
craftycruiselady replied to Canada Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I agree. DR is an excursion must (unless you only want to float in the lazy river) there is not beach right there or anything good. Grand Turk we had a great day for mostly free (we bought food at margaritaville). The beach is beautiful, it was a bit more rocks than I anticipated but it is so clear you can see them ok. There is a starbucks for free wifi , shops, the pool and beach. You cannot take shells or rocks home, they will confiscate them. I saw a table and people getting their bags pulled aside. There was another ship in port with us and we did not feel like anything was crowded. HTH We went on a a Sunday and the Flowrider was down. I'm not sure if that is norm for Sundays or that was a fluke for some reason. -
I bring them loose in a rolling carryon. Makes it easier to cart on my wine and waters. I mix it up, sometimes mostly water and a few sodas, sometimes all water. My mil brought only 4 loose drinks in her bag.

I can login to mine or dh's account after we changed passwords but my future cruises keep disappearing and I can't book anything. So it's still a bit goofy.

If I'm remembering right the 45 day or less mark is when all unsold blocks given to TAs have to be returned to Royal so they have a chance to sell them. Impossible to know if it will happen again because demand is kinda high right now.
