  1. I will have to file that away for next time :). I was with elderly family who did not want to walk far so we stopped as soon as we hit the first patch of beach. Thanks!
  2. I agree. DR is an excursion must (unless you only want to float in the lazy river) there is not beach right there or anything good. Grand Turk we had a great day for mostly free (we bought food at margaritaville). The beach is beautiful, it was a bit more rocks than I anticipated but it is so clear you can see them ok. There is a starbucks for free wifi , shops, the pool and beach. You cannot take shells or rocks home, they will confiscate them. I saw a table and people getting their bags pulled aside. There was another ship in port with us and we did not feel like anything was crowded. HTH We went on a a Sunday and the Flowrider was down. I'm not sure if that is norm for Sundays or that was a fluke for some reason.
  3. I bring them loose in a rolling carryon. Makes it easier to cart on my wine and waters. I mix it up, sometimes mostly water and a few sodas, sometimes all water. My mil brought only 4 loose drinks in her bag.
  4. I can login to mine or dh's account after we changed passwords but my future cruises keep disappearing and I can't book anything. So it's still a bit goofy.
  5. If I'm remembering right the 45 day or less mark is when all unsold blocks given to TAs have to be returned to Royal so they have a chance to sell them. Impossible to know if it will happen again because demand is kinda high right now.
  6. On Adventure, no it would not dispense water. I'm not sure on other ships because I never checked on other ships.
  7. Vacations to go got me a better deal and obc for a cruise later this year. They also have 90 day last minute deals.
  8. Honestly, I hope nothing for a year or two. Let the debt come down a bit so they can stop asking us for more than the cost to rent a small island for an interior room. If anything they need something to start to replace Grandeur and other tiny ships to still get the smaller ports. I get the point of them pushing the mega ship to go almost no where to keep a captive audience but some of us still cruise to actually cruise and get off in port and they lose the tiny ports with those mega ships. I can go to a water park and a pool at home for a tenth of the money.
  9. We just did this for Utopia. It saved us a lot and we got obc twice. I also already have my room assignment locked in vs gty.
  10. The nightmare is true since the construction started on the new garages a few days ago. But it also matters how many ships are in port. If you are on a 6 ship day, it will be ten times worse than a 3 ship day. I personally would be a little ticked to pay full garage price and be stuck out in a surface lot. I would get there early enough to grab a spot s someone is leaving but not so early that not enough people have left yet and you should be fine. Have you considered another option, uber to a hotel very close to the port with a shuttle? Will probably be cheaper but yes, you do lose a little control because you are waiting for shuttles and it is most likely cheaper? Unless you were staying really cheap or free on your two days and then maybe not.
  11. I preferred Freedom to Adventure but I would take a kayak to Bermuda LOL. I loved it, it was beautiful and I would go back. Adventure has sandwiches and pizza in the promenade and the windjammer, you can always find food. It is a bit inconvenient to not have food on the pool deck if you are wet and messy and want to get something though. There were kids on Adventure and there is the mini golf and splash pad etc, I have never taken my kids on a cruise though so I have no true idea what there is for them. I will say most of them must have been bored a little because they were running through the stairs and halls and other nonsense. I have not done Oasis yet and I'm of the I would rather take a crappy ship than no ship but with kids and the expectation of Oasis or better, then you may not like Adventure. My husband said it was his least favorite of the ships we have gone on, that said we are going again because the ports and price are more important to us. Entertainment was lacking IMO for adults but that could be the cruise director which is changing again soon so maybe that will get better.
  12. I saw it at dinner a few times on Mariner but not anywhere else. Someone was scooping it out.
  13. We have a reservation for lunch on our next cruise for 5 people at Chops. (Family Cruise) One person might not want to go now for lunch that day, can I cancel that one person and not lose the entire reservation? I don't want to lose the price I paid by canceling all of us and rebooking. I tried searching but it is too broad I guess. I don't want to try it and goof up or I would just test it in my planner. Thanks!
  14. A gift card from a 3rd party like AARP at a discount, no that will not work, they do not work on board. They only work for new bookings, not with a travel agent etc. they are a pain. There is a new change to gift cards purchased directly from Royal Caribbean. Those can be used towards the onboard account but not towards a preplanned reservation in the planner. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2023/10/20/royal-caribbean-has-quietly-upgraded-its-gift-cards-be-much-more-useful here is all the info.
