whitsmom reacted to Doug in Oasis Western Caribbean 7 day Compass 2017
I've got PDF scans of the Cruise Compass. I haven't uploaded our western Oasis from January yet but I can try to do that today. Here's the Dropbox link.

whitsmom reacted to DocLC in Best value? Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Falmouth
We did a cooking class through Royal years ago at Playa Mia. It's a beach resort, but all of the cooking was done in the covered restaurant area and included preparing a three course meal and plate decorating. I really enjoyed it and drinks were included at the time.
The turtle farm was interesting as was the island tour in Grand Cayman.
I can't help with Jamaica as I haven't been there yet, despite all of my Caribbean cruises. First time will be next year.

whitsmom reacted to Matt in Change to Early Dinner Seating
That is what always happens to me. I've been waitlisted many times and they have always come through, except one time. In that one time, I went to speak to head waiter in MDR on embarkation day and he immediately had us changed to our preferred dining rotation without any hesitation.

whitsmom reacted to Sarah in Change to Early Dinner Seating
I was wait listed last year for early dinner seating and I got it. They hadn't notified me of the change but when I looked at the online check in screen my time had changed.
Good luck!

I concur with Doc. If you like your server the first night, just tell the Maître d on your way out that you want the same table and servers for the entire cruise and they will save the table for you. As I mentioned above, going first helps. That way you know for sure nobody is at your table.

I've found that the reading app on my iPad allows me to adjust text size. Sadly, I had to make the jump to a larger text last week...

whitsmom reacted to Matt in After purchasing excursions sold by ship
You will receive tickets that will be waiting in your stateroom. The tickets will indicate where and when to meet. In most cases, you disembark the ship and there will be an area near the gangway where tours are meeting. Look for a crew member holding a sign with the name of your excursion.

whitsmom reacted to Matt in Photo Packages
The key to the photo packages is that you stop and take enough photos to make it worth it. It's pricey, but if you take a lot of photos it can be a good idea, considering a single 8x10 photo onboard will cost about $20 each.

whitsmom reacted to pamw in Itinerary Changes mid-Cruise
I would rather the Captain change ports of calls rather than stay in an area where there is a Hurricane brewing.
Only happened once to us not on RCI but on a Princess Cruise ship.
We were in Alaska and had a really rough ride during the night, with things sliding off the dressing table.
I actually stepped inside the bathroom and found myself stood in front of the toilet without moving my feet -
When we woke up the following morning there was a letter pushed under our door advising that the Captain had needed to move swiftly out of the area - yes we missed our call but hey - better that than risk lives!

whitsmom reacted to Matt in Labadee Beach Bungalows
Ah, sorry.
You walk off the ship, and all the way to the end of the pier.
As you get enter the actual island, there will be some golf carts to the right side of the path. As a cabana guest, they will pick you up there and bring you to the beach to check-in for your cabana/bungalow.

whitsmom reacted to Wilson in Toro Verde zipline
Current sale reduced it to $156. I booked it, but after watching the various videos Mrs Wilson told me to do two things. 1=cancel her reservation and get her a massage 2=increase my life insurance before going. LoL

whitsmom reacted to Jeepgeek in Free trip from playing a Facebook game MyVegas
I have been "Playing" Daily for 4-5 years. I have never paid a dime. On weekdays, I spend 1 minute collecting from my strip in the morning and another minute in the evening. On Saturday, I start a 500 spin game before I run and shut it off when I return. The secret to my success has been consistency. That said, every year my wife and I have enjoyed free room in Las Vegas, and Biloxi, MS. I still had 1.7 Million Loyalty points before buying this cruise, I still have 922,000 points left. We will spend time in Las Vegas this year and enjoy rooms and shows for free.

whitsmom reacted to Jeepgeek in Free trip from playing a Facebook game MyVegas
Good Afternoon RCB folks,
I am writing at Matt's request to let you know about how my wife and I are going on a free(yes, you read that correctly, free) cruise this March 25th out of Ft. Lauderdale on the Independence of the Seas.
A little background here: I have been "playing" the MyVegas games on mobile and desktops for years. My wife and I usually use the rewards to add weekends to our annual trip to Las Vegas and a free weekend to Biloxi, MS yearly. But, last year RCCL became a sponsor and added discounts for cruises that were meh. This year they added free cabins on select sailings. My wife is a teacher so her vacation time is set in stone. Well as luck would have it, the stars aligned and we secured a reward for a free trip and $250 shipboard credit. The process as stated in the purchase seems straight forward, but, I will document the process for those that come after us.
Have a wonderful week

whitsmom got a reaction from RobWhatley in Trouble logging into RCCL - My Cruse, AND C&A
I too had this same issue. RCI could not get it resolved, so I had to set up a new email & password. However, I not cannot pay on my cruise on line as it was already "claimed" by my old login info! I can do extra stuff (excursions, internet and etc) but just not pay toward my cruise. I either have to call or do online bank check. I have been sending my online bank check and they send me an updated cruise balance in 2-3 days of receiving my payment. It totally sucks, but it is working out so I try not to stress about it. RCI tried and tried and they couldn't fix the issue for me.

whitsmom reacted to clmsnskr in Harmony online check-in question
I think only the Quantum Class Ships and Harmony of the Seas currently have this type of checkin process. The rest of the fleet use the traditional online checkin process.

whitsmom reacted to Matt in Labadee Beach Bungalows
Good news, your math is wrong. When you book a bungalow or cabana, you book it for one person and it's good for up to 6 or 8 guests (depends which one you're booking). So the cost is only $250 for the whole bungalow for your family, and yes, your family can come and go. It's pretty laissez faire.
