I have my C card and hope to get my granddaughter certified before our March cruise (Allure). We're in Virginia so the OW dives are NOT going to happen before then (LOL). My wife got certified on a RCCL cruise years ago and except for the early morning pool dives, she loved it. Did her OW dives in Cozumel no less !!! I'm hoping (and I've emailed them) RCCL will have some sort of referral program where all the classwork and pool dives can be done locally ahead of the cruise and then do the OW dives while on the cruise.

Protocols will be relaxed soon hopefully. NFL and other venues are changing their protocols as we speak because the previous ones were too strict based on the data that this variant is not nearly as serious. It was costing them money (cancelled games etc.) over outdated data (and incorrect data ...... go figure). We have a March cruise booked and will be cancelling if things don't improve. People that are scared to death of this thing should just stay at home (locked up if they prefer). If I can't enjoy my vacation, I'll pick an area that will let me enjoy it normally. I understand RCCL has to cave and do not blame them. It's a business however, I hope they don't go under.

Good news from Shore Excursions -- the refresher session at my local dive shop will be enough!  I'll be booking it this week!

I agree with this. It’s not very funny how people on this board will passive aggressively laugh at a post as a sign of disagreement. It’s annoying already. 

PRE-SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT:  As part of the Healthy Return to Sailing Plan, everyone in the theater must wear ear coverings while waiting for the show.  You may remove them when you see the performers singing on stage.  Please put your ear coverings back on in between songs.

Theres probably people searching google right now trying to find out if this is correct and others who are already thinking there is no way they are wearing earmuffs on a cruise if RC implement such measures

I get it, Matt. But it's very disrespectful that I type a sincere response to a post and for multiple people to laugh at it due to idiotic political rhetoric. That's antagonistic. If you're trying to maintain the standards of this forum, you should start there.

calvink669 - Why the laugh? Are you calling me a liar? I've lived in the COVID world for the past two years just as you have. And I'm telling you, previously, I knew plenty of people who got exposed to someone with COVID and it was only on an off chance that they got it too. Right now, everyone in my community is getting it. It's gone crazy the past few days. The contagiousness is noticeably different. Maybe you'll need to see it get to wherever you live. I'm telling you, it's not as dangerous. This isn't some kind of scare tactic. But it's definitely spreading way easier. 

I just came off the Allure last week. I had a drink in my hand at all times and they told me to mask up the entire time while I was walking around. They said no walking around with a drink and not masked. You have to be sitting drinking. I was so mad! That was the first day on board too. 

What is the end date? I just came off the Allure last week and the masks were a bummer, the limited time we had to wear. It seemed like a lot more than not having them on. Drove me crazy, especially when you forget your mask in your room. I couldn't imagine now having to wear one while DANCING and playing in the casino. So if you don't drink and you want to smoke, you can't? 

This worked for me. Masked at most 5% of the cruise.
Save the lungs, punish the liver.

But at least they already put an end date to it.
