Onboard Credit - transfer / refund‽
Aulayan replied to em.down.the.rabbit.hole's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Casino would be best since at this point its "Free money". Or massive shopping trip in the Centrum? -
Sometimes ships go up the bay for a better look at the city and the Statue before going under the Verrazano bridge. I'm seriously hoping they do it when it's my cruise.

Alaska pre-planning question...
Aulayan replied to Lovetocruise2002's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
An Alaska Cruise is my hope in the sometime future so I've done a little research. And while I can't speak to the direct experience on what has been addressed, I would like to say what I've heard others speak of regarding balconies. If either of you (Possibly your hubby since he's a mountains/streams guy already) like wildlife, get a balcony that faces towards Canada and Alaska. I've heard on a RT or NB trip, take a starboard. Southbound a Port side. Let him sit out there with binoculars while you stay inside where it's warm! -
CDC Warning for High Risk Passengers
Aulayan replied to PG Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Dangit CDC. It's hard enough to lose this weight, now you're saying I can't go on a cruise! I dub thee 'Can't Do Cruises' -
Cruise with Confidence is, I believe, baked in. Not anything you had to pay for. It will convert your cruise to FCC which right now has to be spent by April 30 2022 for a cruise before September 30th 2022.

What I did just a couple of hours ago is I finally caved and bought Travel Insurance. Between Covid, a Same Day Flight, and the smaller risk of Hurricanes, I decided that I needed to this just to be on the safe side.

There's lots of this story that feels very odd. "Several of us called and Royal would not answer the phones!" Um... No. It may be a long wait time (Though not recently in my experience) but they don't refuse to answer the phones. (The it's been 4 days and they haven't heard anything does seem to gel with the Royal Customer Service I've heard about though, sadly). The "Large group comes back from a place that does testing and not allowed on board" Also feels very odd. And the "You can't have your luggage back" seems uh...lawsuit worthy? Something is off here.

I know. I know. I already tried to change it a month ago but changing it will also cancel my departure flight and that's full up as well (Or at least that's what Air2Sea told me). So I'm stuck with this 7 am flight day of, arriving in Newark at 9 am. But the question I have, is I also took the Royal Transfer option. If I'm taken right to the port I'm going to be 2-3 hours early for check in. (I have the earliest check in option at noon, but it's still noon). My main concern is the luggage. Is there any ability to drop off the luggage to porters that early and then go and do something else (Probably via Uber), or will we be stuck with our luggage until check in time?

This morning the Oasis of the Seas made it to it's New Jersey port and cleared the Verrazano Bridge. Crew were on the deck and filmed it: And here is the view from a webcam showing just how little clearance there is:- 9 replies

Oh no I can only imagine how he answered because I can imagine some of MY answers and worry how they'd extrapolate them. Thank you for showing this questionnaire. I've never seen one (And probably never will get it myself) and I was curious what it was like!

After it lasted into last night I was starting to think it was cached in my system and I'd never end up seeing it again. Obviously this means Matt can no longer cruise.

Update return to service dates
Aulayan replied to smokeybandit's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
As someone who is exhaling a sigh of relief at Oasis' time, I think the fact people are finding out probable cancellations from this list instead of from Royal first to be pretty bad customer service. You two should've been contacted by now. -
I'm no lawyer but I don't see how this is around Florida Law. Florida Law states that cruise lines can't ask for vaccine status. St. Thomas states you can't come here if anyone over 12 is not vaccinated. While I see Royal Caribbean trying to use this as a way around Florida Law, some Floridian (or their governor) is going to end up suing Royal Caribbean over this and I don't think this shields them at all. Legally it sounds more like if you sail from Florida, to follow both laws you would not be able to include the US Virgin Islands as a destination for the time being.

Future cruise credit sail by and expiration dates
Aulayan replied to Cameron's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I'm hoping they extend this just a bit. I have $235 left in an FCC I'd like to use for next October's cruise but, alas, it's just outside the date. (I'm in a landlocked mid-country state and airfare be expensive. Cruising's a rare treat). -
Cabanas prices have dropped - Adventure OTS 8/7/21
Aulayan replied to josepena12's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Honestly, if you can find people to go in it with you. 8 people for $1699.00, including a full day pass to the Beach Club? Not terrible. -
Someone in my facebook group for my October 10th Cruise said they just got a Casino Deals from RC in the mail offering 4 different rooms on Oasis in October. So if they're sending out mailings like that, that gives me hope.

Thank you both so much. This eases my fears.

RCL App Updates - Cruise Planner not working?
Aulayan replied to IRMO12HD's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I've found if on my PC I can refresh and access. On my phone I just have to hit "Plan my cruise" repeatedly until it works. -
On this, my first cruise with Royal, I did flights through A2S. I know folks here prefer travel advisors and that's who I'm using on my booked second trip (Though even she said she likes A2S). Anyway, everything communication I get from A2S is perfect. However when I recently went to United Airline's website and put in our information, it combined everyone's first and middle names together. Example: Instead of Smith, John Quinten, on UA's website it would read Smith, Johnquinten. Is this the kind of thing I need to contact A2S over because it will cause a huge issue on the morning of our flight?
