Carnival has a great chart on their website that lists different ports and their vaccine or testing requirements. I wish RC would just rip the band-aid off and let unvaxxed be responsible for what ports require what when disembarking. Or just let me stay on the ship… I’m ok with that too. 

And 1 of the several reasons we cancelled our 9/30 Disney Wish sailing.  Quite frankly, at some point people will vote with their feet

Hopefully they make some decisions this week, that would be great.

Royal was first to make an announcement... that led to confusion and more questions than answers.  We've seen that play out here on the boards.  
Some of the other cruises lines haven't been completely transparent in their announcements while once again the usual suspect blew it wide open.  
In time Royal may prove to be have the best approach but as the CDC has all but given up and universally removed protocols that has left Royal as the only cruise line in the industry still keeping its protocols.  Speaking as an investor as well as a cruiser it does make me wonder what Royal is doing while the rest of industry and the CDC have moved forward.  

I said I'd never do a carnival cruise again after going on one but at this point I'd be ok with it and just not tell anyone 😆

I would even go on Carnival 🙂

Just got off Independence and sitting in the Delta Sky Lounge waiting for our delayed flight....of course.  Bottom line, it was a blast.  I     don't have much "official" stuff, but I    can sure share some tea!

I just want to go on a cruise out of florida 😭 (because I love florida). Hopeful it can happen soon.

We've had no restrictions for a couple of months now and life is just a new normal. 
Some people still wear masks! 
If you feel ill then its up to you if test and again its your choice if you isolate if you test positive ( companies may enforce isolation but pay you for being off ) 
Most people are respectful and give others space and are a bit more tolerant of others.( unless your stuck in an Airport)
Of course there are those who have never cared since day 1.
 

It seems the latest CDC declaration that the whole thing is over hasn't been embraced by other countries yet.  Until it does we are stuck with what each destination thinks is important.  Hopefully the CDC throwing in the towel will be embraced across the world.  Time to end the public health emergency.  Maybe then other countries will wake up.  

It won't be until the Bahamas drops its mandate. But the Bahamas had been following CDC guidance, so it's not inconceivable to see the Bahamas changes things soon since the CDC did.

Just let everyone cruise. I really do not care if COVID positive peeps are on the ship or not - hint hint they are already on every cruise. As long as the bars are open...  
People with colds and other communicable diseases have always been allowed to cruise. A woman ,in the casino, was coughing up a lung for hours the other day. Didn't slow me down at all.

Testing isn't the answer and testing doesn't stop covid because in incubation period for covid according to the CDC is now up to 14 days. During that incubation period an individual can still test negative.  I don't know how long your vacation was in South Carolina but it is entirely possible that you had covid prior to the start of your vacation but were in the incubation period and developed symptoms as your vacation was winding down. This can and is happening on cruises there is no such thing as keeping covid off cruise ships the Delta variant was proof of that and vaccines were fresh when Delta swept through,.  Then came Omicron which left a slew of infected individuals and now we have the BA5 variant. What do all of these variants have in common they all found their way onto cruise ships despite cruise lines requiring all passengers over the age of 2 to present a negative Covid test and requiring adults over the age of 12 be fully vaccinated.
The idea that testing and vaccines will keep Covid off cruise ships has already been dispelled, and Royal will do away with the vaccine requirement just as soon as more destinations drop their vaccine mandates.

Treat it like they are treating unvaxxed, if you don't test, you can't get off the ship. I'm good with that.

That's enough right there for RC to dump all testing. Yes I know there are rules of other countries, but with many island nations following the CDC's lead, their rules may change soon too

I read that earlier, and thought, "Hey, I hope this is enough incentive for the cruise lines to discontinue the mandate of  COVID-19 testing."  I'm not against it inherently, BUT it's so darn expensive if you have to pay for it, and fewer and fewer places are offering it for free.

Maybe "promising" was not the proper word to use when I first brought it up. He's not making a promise, he is making a statement. A statement that should have some weight considering he is the CEO, and a statement that was unfortunately worded to give more hope than it should have to some cruisers.

This is clearly gotten very confusing for Royal employees as well. I spoke to 2 different employees on 8/4 and both told me for cruises after 8/8 there would be no vaccine requirement. I added a guest that is unvaccinated to a booking that had previously been for a solo cruiser and they purchased airline tickets based on that info. Shame on me for not having something in writing first.
I called in again this morning and was first told again that as long as the sailings didn't go to Canada or Bermuda a vaccine would not be required. When I asked them where I could find this information online I was put on hold for about 20 minutes then they came back and said that it didn't apply to cruises out of Florida, which mine is. 
I guess I will just have to keep my fingers crossed that Royal Caribbean includes Florida in the changes that were announced last night before we sail on 9/25.

Your interpretation is different than mine. He states "effective August 8th" in his original post about testing and then continues on to say they will also welcome unvaxxed under the same thought. When people asked him to clarify, he confirmed that after August 8th unvaxxed could sail. He even confirmed it for this blog as you can see in the screenshot above (and yes, all screenshots are directly from Michael Bayley's Facebook page on this exact post I referenced above or are from this blog directly).
I am not here to debate you, I am sharing my interpretation which also happens to be an interpretation many others had as well.
