What cruise are you going on in April? We are on Symphony April 2 and have not seen any changes in cruise planner or received any emails. I'm under the assumption we will at some point though.

Oasis 4 day. April 3-7. We are star class loft suite. I was excited about our star class following us off the ship in labadee. We are now slated for Costa Maya. The itinerary shows Costa Maya now but the cruise planner still shows labadee excursions. We couldn’t save money on the black friday deals boo. Not the end of the world. I need to keep reminding myself that we are crushing again. I’ll take a crappy black friday to get back to cruising. I’ll have the genie works some magic once i figure out what type of excursions there are that would be family friendly.

I have the same issue for a 4-night Mariner sailing in April. Originally scheduled for Cozumel, but a few weeks ago got changed to Nassau and Grand Bahama Island. Cruise planner shows the Bahamas itinerary, but all of the excursions are still for Cozumel, so I have no idea what any of the sales might be, but I really don't want to spend my day on the phone with Royal.

So I called Royal today and was sent to a “supervisor” I let them know that I have a Star Class booking and additionally 5 more rooms for 12 guests that I have paid for. I would really like to save some money on the excursions for the cruise and was prepared to purchase. He then tried to sell me a Labadee excursion. 😂🤣I told him the excursion he was trying to sell me was not for the port my cruise is going to. He blamed it on the “technology” and “new system” they have and reassured me that the excursions would show up in about a week or two. You know once all the sales are over it will show up. I’m hoping to find a cabana somewhere and find something fun for the kids (8,10,17, and 18)to do. 🙏🏻 Please tell me costa Costa Maya is a fun port.

  3. We have a family cruise coming up in April. 12 of us total. A Couple of my family members don’t have a passport yet and i’m trying to get them to get it done. This is a four-day cruise and the only stop is it in Costa Maya. Worst case scenario if they don’t get their passports in time.  Will they be able to get off the ship at port in Costa Maya? They would both be fully vaxed adults.

Does anyone know if Labadee has been cancelled until further notice due to recent events in Haiti?  It is still showing on our itinerary for February but I was curious if anyone had insight on this?

    Thank you!

I would check your emails. They changed it from my April cruise. My itinerary and cruise planner both have labadee still listed and the excursions still show labadee excursions. If I hadn’t have seen the email alerting me of the itinerary change to Costa Maya I would still think we were going to Labadee as nothing has changed and would have bought the Labadee excursions today that are on sale for black friday in my cruise planner.

  5. Our 4 day Oasis cruise Itinerary for April changed from sailing to Labadee to now Costa Maya. Obvious reasons for the change. What is frustrating is my cruise planner still shows Labadee excursions. Is there a way for me to see the Costa Maya excursions? I would love to be able to take advantage of the black friday sales for some Costa Maya excursions and plan for our upcoming cruise in April.

I'm looking at the Labadee excursions. I see two options for the Dragon's Tail Coaster. There is a single ride ticket for Dragon's Tail Coaster: Single Ride  $18.99 and Dragon's Tail Coaster - All Day Access $25.99. When I look at the description and important notes section I see this:

"Purchase a ticket and take a person along in your cart for free! Consider physical fitness and medical history when selecting tour. "

"Children between the ages of 5 and 11 may ride with their parent/guardian. "

So am I reading this right, If I have a ticket I can have my kid ride with me free?

I am hearing rumors that labadee is canceled for the unforeseen future because of civil unrest. They are substituting cozumel for labadee. I would think CC the other private island would be an appropriate substitute. The whole reason I had booked Labadee was because my daughter could get off without booking an experience and our drink pckage would be useful on the island. Cozumel is completely opposite to that. 😕 I surely hope that is not where they move us. Our cruise is not till April so we shall see. 🙏🏻

Absolutely the Genie will help you.  They may have to break your large party into 2 tables of 6 but chances are they will be able to accommodate everyone at one table with the Genies help.

Also keep in mind that even though you envision everyone together at one (or 2) table at the same time, the chances are pretty good that someone (or 2 or 5) will have other plans. Trust me on this one.  I have been “in charge” of waaaytooo many group cruises and there will always be someone who has something else to do.  The term “herding cats” comes to mind.

Personally, I would probably not purchase UDP for the entire group unless you are just feeling particularly generous.  While you would love to have dinners together with everyone, you should (MO) give everyone the freedom to choose what they want to do and for some, that means grabbing something from the WJ or Sorrentos and moving on.  Some may not be into the long, protracted meals that are inevitable with big group specialty dining (or even MDR dining, for that matter).  I would really hated for you to “waste” your money on specialty dining that is skipped.

Anyway….the Genie will help you coordinate whatever you want to do.  This will prove extremely helpful.  Trust me….and enjoy !

Thank you soo much for the insight. I’m holding off on buying specialty dining packages. I def don’t want the teenagers bored out of their minds at giovanies etc etc. The teenagers are picky and limited menu spells someone not getting what they want. @WAAAYTOOO you are such a blessing to the message boards. 🙏🏻

  8. My family and I booked Star class for Oasis in April. This will be our first time cruising with Royal as well as Star Class. I recently surprised my brother in law and his family, my mother in law, as well as Hubby’s best friend. I paid everyone’s cruise fair. They all have balcony rooms and will love it! We have a total of 10 (possibly 12 head nurse won’t know if she can get time off till January)

Here is my question.  I know Star class is unlimited specialty dining. Booking balcony I know my inlaws and family friends will not have it. I am currently looking at the dining packages for everyone. Will the specialty dining rooms have room to accommodate a party of 12? I would love to keep us all together for dinners.

If we do end up in the MDR will our genie help put us all together?

Before she sent this, I told her my older kids liked Dr Pepper and she said she would try but those are the options. I feel like she’s being strict but we’ll see

I believe  they can’t not get off the ship as they used to. pre covid it seems Genies would snag your stuff prior to embarkation or mid cruise at a port to grant wishes that they needed to personally grab. They are stuck on the ship and can only work with what they have.

We had Allan F. (2br ATS). He was amazing!! Good to know the others are wonderful as well. Our second STAR experience (UPS) was just ok- had a new genie.

just another reason why we moved out of UPS.  Last night I told hubby my guess is UPS is the “ genie in training or NEWB” location. I just don’t see how you can get good service being that far from midship and that far from deck 17. No seasoned genie is going to risk that. Just my honest opinion that had been in the back of my head. One major reason I am extremely thankful for the input from this blog. I now very confident and glad that we moved to a suite on deck 17 shwww.  I am soo sorry your second SC experience was not great. I hope you cruise again soon and it’s better!! 🙏🏻

Nobody in the terminal seemed to know what Star Class or a genie was.  We also did not get any Star Class boarding perks and went through the same lines as everyone else (other than the initial suite door to the terminal), but that may be due to the fact that we have children that required testing.

We have a SC cruise in April with an 8 year old. This is disturbing to read. I sure hope they figure out the boarding/testing thing for SC families. It’s RC so i’m guessing trial and error will have it figured out by then. 🙏🏻

  12. Yay!!! Room switched team floor 17 baby! 1720 was the only one available. I took it! The first lady i spoke with couldn’t hold it and made me close my web pages. I logged back in and could not find it. She told me it was gone and I had a mini stroke. Called and spoke to someone different and she was able to locate it and help me out. I am sooo happy. Thank you everyone for your input. I absolutely love this blog!!

I am going to assume you mean 1720.  The star lofts are amazing!  Although I prefer the one next door (1718), I would still take 1720 in a heartbeat compared to the UPS.  Yes, it faces the mini golf and not as much privacy as the one next door, but the balcony and room are huge!  And yes, there is no tub, but have you seen the videos of the walk in shower in the loft?  It looks amazing!

I would take the loft, if available, over the UPS.

  14. OK so we are actually thinking of changing our current room reservation. Our current booking is in the new ultimate panoramic suite. Everything looks wonderful except that there is no flipping table in the room to eat an actual dinner with a family or (gasp) to host a party. Do you think if we asked the geni to bring a functional table into the room that they would? There is no way we can’t sit as a family at that narrow “table” it legit looks 2 feet wide. it’s like a narrow counter they are trying to call a table. looking at booking the star loft suite instead.

Cons:   it’s 1730 and overlooks the put put and doesn’t seem to really have a water view. No tub. I love bubble baths. Mught be too noisy… anyone have trouble with the noise?

Pros It’s royal deck 17. More mid ship then the UPS. close to everything. HAS A TABLE. Has a balcony.

Oh boy decision time. if we decide to change our room will they let us? final payment is not due till jan.
