  1. From a traveler's perspective, it seems natural to put an Icon-class ship in Galveston with all the competition: MSC Seascape - new ship Carnival Jubilee - new ship Norwegian Viva - new ship plus attractive itinerary And there's always Princess and Disney. Maybe that "wonder" remark was not all hot air. But, like Twangster said, it's all about how RCL can maximize their revenue.
  2. I think you should go to Celebrity or Princess for fewer people and better service.
  3. Thanks for posting! Mrs. Cake and I are also celebrating 35 this year.
  4. It looks to me like all ships are accounted for in February and March of '26 except four: Mariner, Ovation, Radiance, and Serenade. Mariner has a few posted in January, and the other three ships have nothing posted after September or so of '25. Although I'd love to see a Quantum-class ship in Galveston, I would guess that Radiance and/or Mariner will go back to Galveston and do the short cruises. Maybe Serenade will do another world cruise. Maybe they are holding back some cruises based on recent events in Haiti and Israel.
  5. 18, 15 on Royal. 14 out of the 15 out of Galveston.
  6. Hopefully I'll still be alive at age 79 for this one. My house was in the path of totality for 4/8/24, but it was completely overcast.
  7. Your 1.75 number corresponds to a payout of about 88.6%. If the programmed payout is 85%, you're doing well!
  8. I looked at a list of trademarks here. Intrigue of the Seas: Will Royal Caribbean’s Next Ship Name Come From This List? | Cruzely.com My favorite for Oasis-class is Haven of the Seas.
  9. Royal Caribbean Group Reports Strong 2023 Results and Forecasts Record Earnings for 2024 (yahoo.com) They need to pay off some more debt first. In the meantime, you can get onboard credit every time you cruise if you own 100 or more shares. That's sort of like a dividend.
  10. The timeline fits, anyway. 2024 Utopia 2025 Star 2026 Icon 3 2027 Oasis 7 2028 Discovery 1
  11. Interesting email, thanks for posting. I've never sailed on Celebrity, but I would be more likely to if it would earn Crown and Anchor points on Royal. The status match between Royal and X is nice, but it would be nicer to earn points that counted on both. I would be all over a 2% cash back Visa card with extra benefits, otherwise pass.
  12. My date was just a guess based on how long it took to build Icon. It'll be done "when it's done".
  13. Me too, since Icon 3 probably won't be ready until that summer or fall. They would need a stopgap ship (Allure).
