That’s a great idea. Do you have any recommendations on what to do with luggage for that time? Our flight home isn’t until much later.

Check out https://usebounce.com/ for luggage storage in the area. There are several locations near Disney Springs. The biggest issue is that you're going to have to have transportation to the luggage storage place from the port and then back from Disney Springs which can really add up in addition to the charge to store the luggage.

It would be worth it to rent a car if possible. According to Uber estimate, the ride from the port to Disney Springs is a little more than $100. Parking at Disney Springs is free and there are multiple parking garages. I've parked in there with luggage in my car and didn't have an issue.
If you are going to DS, I highly recommend Art Smith's Homecomin' or Polite Pig BBQ.

The major car rental companies have locations nearby. I believe they offer shuttles from terminal, but you'd have to check with the location.

We are cruising Jan 31 - Feb 4th on Independence of the Seas.   Headed to CocoCay and the Nassau.   Will it be cold at night on the boat?    Trying to decide how to dress at night in the main dining room and curious how cold it will be.

Yes, it means only one device at a time can actively be using the login.  You can have a zillion devices, but only one can be logged in.

First, let me say I understand a lot of frustration in and with the cruise industry due to COVID. Its supposed to be a great vacation and customers pay a good price for the experience.  The media likes to dwell on cancelled ports and sick passengers and empty ships sitting at anchor. All the misery and misfortune in the headlines sells. No one wants to go on vacation and be limited to mask wearing, subjected to nasal swabs, flight disruption, port dismissal etc.
On the other hand, trying to take a purely scientific view point ...
Though ships have been called a Petri dish (generally with negative connotations), at the same time they are a somewhat unique controlled population sampling. Here you have literally thousands of people that are vaccinated and following masking protocols etc. Its not perfect but when you look at infection rates, those aboard ship are less than one percent compared to over 30% on land.
To me this is a perfect example of how an experiment works. You have two populations, one with generally well kept protocols and controls, and the other, not so much. The difference in infection rates is dramatic. It just shows vaccines, masking and isolation of known cases works.
Ships have other issues such as limited space for isolation and medical facilities. Their systems are not perfect but the numbers show they do work.

I prefer the holder in my stateroom (aka garbage can).  Ok, so that's not helpful, but I really hate them, lol.

If you call you can order a mixture of packages. You have to do this if you're trying to purchase a drink package + VOOM internet and a non-internet one.  But if you only need one alcoholic package (Deluxe) you can order the other 21+ parties in your cabin the Refreshment Package. It just requires a phone call since the system isn't set up to allow it.

Remember…sometimes when check in opens, there is only a 3pm slot available. This seems to be just a temporary placeholder. You can add, and save, all your check in information without picking a time. Or even if you do, you can go back and edit check in. Just keep checking as earlier times will open up as the cruise date gets closer. Enjoy your cruise!

If cruises can operate with minimum impact just think how we could scale that experience to open America.  Or we could just open America and not give a hoot.

Unless you live in the right place most people won't be cruising anyways. Fix the actual issue and eradicate the virus. Only then will cruising resume to normal.

Just got tip: RCG will be making an announcement real soon as to those cruises that are longer than 7 nites, and from what I've been told, one avenue that is definately being spoken about is taking a longer cruise (i.e.: 9 nite) and splitting it into two cruises, a 4 nite and a 5 nite. I like it!!! B2B2B2B2B HERE I COME!!

@RBRSKI, would you be willing to amend the date on this? I have an Oasis cruise on 12/6 that I would really like to sail! ?

I agree. As much as we'd love to see the testing schedule and know every little detail, those may not be released. All we're likely to see is which cruises they plan to sail, at least in early December. They seem to be trying to cancel cruises about a month out, so I'm guessing the next week will let us know which ships they are likely to start with.
I do however, think that they *could* be ready for paying customers on December 1st (staying optimistic). They have a lot of these requirements laid out already with the Healthy Sail Panel, and I assume that they are ready to go at implementing these. Due to having multiple ships, they could do something like:
First week of November: Gather crew, prepare plans, do testing and quarantining that hasn't already been completed as well as training.
Second week of November: Run "test cruises" that don't leave the port with crew members as staff and as guests. This could be a 3/4 night in Miami and a 7 night in FLL.
Third week of November: Have same two ships do another test cruise, but leave the dock, visit Cococay and follow all requirements.
Fourth week of November: Repeat of third week, ensure all protocols are working, tweak plans if necessary, cancel more cruises or add more cruises depending on demand and CDC.
First week of December: Cruises start.

Obviously just an idea. But I could see it working.

Where do I sign up to be a test cruiser?  I can be at Port Everglades in 20 minutes
