  1. Right on.. Q4 is another write-off, they wouldn't sufficiently move the needle in Dec, might as well use the time to prepare for a safe, but limited restart.
  2. This was an incredibly vibrant (and I think interesting) industry - I'm incredulous on how its being gutted.
  3. What has 8 legs, 8 arms and 8 eyes? 8 pirates.
  4. With the depression in fuel cost due to lockdowns, there's some opportunity to pick up some margin in fuel cost if they can only get back to cruising.
  5. Like your train of thought. Just to swerve into your second paragraph - I was in a conversation with a Celebrity Beverage director and asked if RCL and Celebrity had a common supply chain for provisioning. I was very surprised when he said no -they had their own logistic supply chains. I find that hard to believe from a cost savings (efficiency) perspective. Do you have any insight into supply chain commonality between the family members?
  6. Q: What did the ocean say to the pirate? A: Nothing—it just waved!
  7. Personal opinion - I think an Oasis class ship has more to do than the port. I have family members that like making the trip to Atlantis.
  8. Nice - Whenever someone posts the drops I check ours - but no luck yet.
  9. Wondered about the B2B model. Have one in June and have concerns as it's out of Italy.
  10. Thanks - checking Oasis.. Be nice if you could set an automatic buy price like buying stock
  11. I didn't see nationality highlighted in the updated order that pertained to sailing. But if there is a mutual restriction on border crossing for leisure travel that would impede things. (I had not been closely following details of that restriction)
  12. How much does it cost for a pirate to pierce his ears? A Buccaneer! ?
  13. I'm more inclined to be excited about the new itineraries based upon the expiration (although still highly controlled) lifting of the no-sail order. I really want to see how the early ones go (even the "simulated" cruises) before starting to fill that '22 dance card.
  14. Maybe soon we'll have fond memories of facial sunburn around our masks...?
  15. Does the "simulated cruise" mean crew only sailings or land based mock-up sailing (computer simulation) of going through procedures? I'm guessing it means crew only sailing to practice procedures based upon comments Mr. Fain made yesterday.
  16. I was reading Mr. Fain's comments regarding the very controlled restart in early '21 which I interpret that if given the CDC green light, we'll see mainly "shorty" and limited excursion cruises for about a quarter. He's messaging what what's necessary, but if we're still in a "test and see" mode for an entire 1st quarter, I'm wondering how industry enthusiasm will be sustained for continued financial viability. More contraction on the way?
  17. Here's a link describing the legacy US legislation guiding or limiting cruise operations. Interesting commentary. https://cruiseradio.net/the-jones-act-passsenger-vessel-services-act-1886-maritime-law/
  18. If 2021 is a bust - maybe no cruising until 3rd or 4th quarter of '21, the 2x points really isn't going to be realized by many people. I get that sinking feeling just another promotion to keep those deposits coming in.
  19. I certainly have seen the "your booking might be locked" note. Probably under maintenance.
  20. It's a bummer when we're all forced to be re-live old memories instead of being able to make new ones. You have an adventure to share that shows some level normalcy still exists.
  21. I stole this from a social media site. But its a goodie.
