em.down.the.rabbit.hole reacted to Traveler in Anthem Itineries CANCELLED
Its all because they did not like the RCB group cruise to happen ?

A bit more detail, including the statement they'll run with a fully vaccinated crew, love to know how they'll achieve that.

Thanks for posting this. I have one booked on 23rd September and wondered if it had been cancelled. Not just yet anyway!

They are also apparently offering 999 free staterooms on these sailings for workers in the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces.

Finally, at least we in the UK now have the full list of cruise lines to choose from.

Some posters over on CC with bookings on Anthem are reporting they have received cancellation emails as Royal has decided to "re-debut Anthem of the Seas in Southampton exclusively for UK residents, offering Ocean Getaways and British Isles itineraries".

I'm getting an ever-stronger feeling that my September cruise on Harmony is toast. ?
-
em.down.the.rabbit.hole reacted to Brogan in UK domestic cruises given green light
I am hearing a lot of talk that Harmony will be the ship Royal place in the UK offering cruises to nowhere most likely. If they did I would book in a heartbeat, that would be amazing.

em.down.the.rabbit.hole reacted to Reigert2008 in FCC Game of who's who
Here is a spreadsheet that I created to track our FCCs and credit card refunds for the one cruise we had that was paid in full before COVID canceled it. I figured I would share it in case it helps anyone else. It works for me, but your experience may vary. Feel free to use it how you wish.
The only frustration we had was that the credit card refunds didn't come in together and it took a bit to ge the full amounts. We'd get like 25% of the vacation plan one day, then get the other 75% on other days. Luckily our TA was able to keep it all straight and we did get all the correct amounts refunded.

Start a log or spreadsheet with all FCC details.
Cruises cancel and it can become confusing very quickly when FCC is partially used, shared with others, split across cruises, etc.
Keep very detailed notes. Ask for a copy of the booking invoice before any FCC is applied and ask for a new copy of the booking invoice with each application of an FCC. You'll thank me later.

A 3rd enhancement which is fantastic deals with residual FCC.
In the past if an FCC was larger than a future cruise the left over or residual FCC would become available once the first cruise where the FCC was applied was completed. You had to sail on the cruise then wait for the residual FCC to become available.
Now, supposedly once you apply an FCC any residual or surplus FCC will be issued in the form of a new FCC with a unique FCC number a month or so after applying the FCC to the first booking. You don't have to wait to sail any more.

I'm not sure about the answer to your question, but, I do know that they've gotten better at issuing FCCs. (Unfortunately, a year of cancellations has made them good at it ?)
From the time of cancellation (December 2) to the issuing our FCCs (January 8) was 37 days.

At the same time they also started allowing "stacking" of FCC.
in the past a booking could only have one FCC applied. Now you can apply multiple FCC to one booking in case one FCC isn't large enough to cover the future cruise.

em.down.the.rabbit.hole reacted to twangster in FCC Game of who's who
In the U.S. the answer is yes. As of sometime in late January or early February there were a number of FCC enhancements implemented and sharing was one of them.
In the interest of full disclosure I haven't tried to use solo FCC and share it with other guests booked with me on future cruises so there may be nuances beyond the reports of what is now supposed to be allowed. In theory it should work. The U.K. is also a variable that I can't account for.
From what I was told the system will apply as much FCC as it can for the named guest then any remaining FCC will then be applied to other guests. There are no granular controls such as only apply X amount to me or Y amount to that person. The system supposedly does the calculation and application.
Please report back if attempted with the outcome.

That's not the case, most of the cruise lines have said they'll have ports, just ports in the UK. MSC will let you get on at one of three ports on it's cruises. Ports listed so far include Belfast, Portland, Liverpool and Glasgow.

So many jokes about avoiding UK as Royals have a bad name right now due to Meghan lol
-
em.down.the.rabbit.hole reacted to Royale in UK domestic cruises given green light
I think Royal are desperately holding on to the hope they can do the European circuit because they know domestic cruising for the big ships will not be viable, and that UK customers will be likely to cancel. if noone else is allowed into the UK that shreds any hope of profit and they simply cant run a ship at a loss now.
honestly i dont know what i would do now if they turned around and said ok your june itinerary is changed to UK ok or ship only..its paid for and its a solid holiday without going outside the uk but still...would it be worth it.

False advertising yes, have to honour it no!
Uk Consumer laws are
Legally if an item is marked at wrong price until such time as goods have been paid for and are in the hands of purchaser any agreement to sell can be cancelled.
Its like the Scottish Bank note not being classed as legal tender in England even though it has Sterling on it.
Scottish money is NOT legal tender in England just as English money is NOT legal tender in Scotland!
Legal Tender is WHATEVER the seller decides he wants for an item. If a shopkeeper decides he wants 50 goldfish for 1Lb of steak then thats what you have to pay because thats the tender he wants, just as shops dont have to sell items mark wrongly, they can just remove from shelf however most will honour it.

Hoping to get two cruises in at double points to get me to D+. I need 47 seven points. One 7 night and 5 night cruise in a JS and BINGO. That's the plan if CDC, Corona and RCL will all cooperate.

If you can combine a few of these single sentences and elaborate a bit more, you’ll have 6 paragraphs! It could be a short story on how to best use your free drinks!
