Interesting response from Marla on this subject.

"The Food & Beverage shoreside team is actively working on updates for those items that are/were upcharge onboard the Icon. We have addressed the concerns raised aiming to provide clarity before your upcoming cruise."

So, the suspense builds until we board I guess. 😉

Sounds like corporate speak.  Yes they know about the issue but no they are not doing anything.  Just note it on your survey and broadcast the absuritity of the situation which may eventually work.

  2. I go on Liberty April 15th with a friend. Looking forward to your thoughts. Just got off Indy last week so same set up and loved Sabor.  Glad to see access is allowed.  I have found on non O ships its pretty good access.  I am travelling with a Dplus so wont be inthe lounge but can enjoy it in the morning for a quick bite.

Would you by any chance happen to know that percentage? I’m curious as to at what point they decide that they can’t hide/not disclose this info.

No but I have seen about 5-10percent for noro. There was a website that used to report what went to the CDC but since covid it went away.  You could check the cdc website.

I’ve read a lot of posts saying that Genies preferred their tip being placed in their account.  Does the genie bring me the form?  Do I fill it out then give it back to him?  How far in advance do I need to take care of that?  Is it the same way with the room steward?  Thanks!

Berty told me that there is a GS officer whose job is to stay up late until all of the forms are processed on the last day.

Last time that I’m  playing with fire!
We have never purchased insurance for our cruises. We have tri care thru the military, so we are covered medically worldwide. I’m thinking we are not covered for medical evacuations.  My friend’s son and his new wife went to Jamaica for their Honeymoon (who does that?) and the their tour bus was hit by a car.  The wife took the brunt of the accident. Hubby was injured too. Now Jamaica is not equipped for serious stuff.  She ended up in their substandard hospital until arrangements could be made to medically evacuate her to the States. Parents scrambled to come up with almost 25,000 dollars. Then they had to pay cash to the hospital in Jamaica to let her go.  Parents and hubby didn’t realize wife had purchased insurance, which later paid.  Would the insurance company make a fast payment like they needed?

You would think that I would of purchased insurance after that!  Never thought much about it. Now I’m worried that one of us will need some serious medical care.
I’m too late for this cruise, but those that but cruise insurance, where do you purchase it. How much does it cost?

Its never too late unless the medical emergency is due to a pre existing condition that has not been stable or new medicine prescribed for a period of time.  Those normally need to be purchased when the cruise is booked to have all preexisting conditions covered.

@MLH I had no idea you would be ok this sailing!! We definitely need to try and meet up!

For sure I love following your blogs and feel I know you. lol  I didnt mention it anywhere because I wanted to surprise my friend, but then it  kind of came out.  i had an elaborate plan to try to get her genie to let us into her room or do a meet up when we boarded.  Ive been asking her questions like are you bringing a formal dress, and suit.  What are your shore excursion plans etc.  We are going on Utopia Inaugural  together in the Aquatheater so she thought I was talking about that.  lol
