Anyone Else Make This Mistake???
Pattycruise replied to CJS2766's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Did the virtual balcony on Anthem, I thought it was great. -
Some of those banned drugs can be used to make illegal drugs (meth). That is why they are no longer fully over the counter, instead they are behind the counter and you need ID to buy it gets logged into a database so you can’t hit every store nearby to buy. This is NY, not sure about the rest of the country.

Yes, the availability of categories you can bid on may be tied to the current category you are assigned. I can say this from my experience on Freedom. I was with family. One had a JS, one had a OV Bal and one had an interior. The ability to bid on various categories varied based on the cabin they were assigned to.

The baggage handlers are not included in any gratuities, they are independent of the cruise line. IF you choose to add additional tips for the stateroom attendant or wait staff they would appreciate it. Your stateroom attendant will put tipping envelopes in your stateroom the last night for that purpose.

There was a woman on my last sailing who had some braids put in at the Bahamas. The woman quoted $5, she thought per braid, turns out it was PER INCH.Scammers everywhere. The question is, had the police been called to settle this dispute, how would it have ended. I suspect she would not have called the police to say she was being ripped off- and would have settled for $70 before it came that far. (if you were to say you would call them). A big problem would be for the youngins who think they have no say so to speak up for themselves when they are confronted with a scam artist like this.

Depending on the type of Dramamine (meclizine) it is the same ingredient as Bonine. Are you comparing the same ingredients? If you are I might switch! -
I understand what you are saying. I’m wondering what’s going on behind the scenes to cause this. I can’t imagine RC would want to change itineraries that many times. It would be helpful if they explained “the why”.

Believe it or not on my boarding for Anthem at the end of March they did not ask for my vax card, which I keep paper clipped in my passport. I was starting to flip to the card saying “here’s my vax card” and he said, “it’s all good I see it was uploaded and approved”. You and I both know the sailings out of Bayonne have always required showing the card. This was a surprise. I’ll be sailing again from there next week, God willing, and I’ll try to remember to post an update again.

Discounted drink plan pricing
Pattycruise replied to Brian Schultz's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Happened to me over a month ago. Very pleasantly surprised. Must be a glitch they aren’t aware of. -
I can’t imagine you would forget the test results. You can print them and out and put them with your travel documents. For most :passport or birth certificate with govt photo ID Vaccination card Set sail pass-printed or in the app Covid test results, printed, or screen shot or open on the webpage there are no phone calls I personally print all my documents, and check in takes under 3 minutes, unless there is an unforeseen issue.

I’m booked in Celebrity for July (joining family who organized the trip). Celebrity website talks all about cruising from the US. and the CDC and testing. I could not find links about cruising out of Europe. I was specifically looking for testing, figuring the EU had done away with test to enter perhaps the ships did there as well. Anyhow I finally called and was told it’s test up to 2days prior to sailing (fully vaxxed people as you defined it). I’ve now adjusted my flights so I can test before flying and I can use those results for ship entry. Im hoping the US drops test to enter the US, otherwise it will be a long wait to renter the US if we test positive at the end of the sailing, but I’m aware and have insurance for this, and the ability to “wait to test negative”. I notice the ship is not quite full as compared to US sailings. imagine there aren’t many US citizens willing to risk the extended stay. It is definitely hurting the industry. thank you for sharing the info that is difficult to find!

The 4/3 cruise was out of the ordinary . I’ve sailed out of Bayonne numerous times since September, each time they make people wait for their check in time, only when they “ran out of people” did they move to the next boarding time. They also checked boarding times on the app (or printout) before letting you in and if your pass was incorrect they had you step out of line to go and wait.
-
The app has a spot to upload the photo of the vax card. Try that, it streamlined the process. If it doesn’t work bring the original and the printout to pier check in.

If you are booking while onboard and that sailing was already connected with a TA you want to leave you tell next cruise to remove the agent from the new booking (there is a form you sign). You then have 30 days to get your new booking transferred to a new TA.

Sea sick onboard-Help

Attached are interactions between the patch and the 2 different ingredients used in Dramamine (Bonine). You can ask guest services what ingredient is in what they hand out and check for drug interactions on the web. Another option would be to see the ship doctor (it will cost $) and she what he/she has to say. I recommend you double check the info below prior to any decision to take additional medications -
Staying onboard at Coco Cay?
Pattycruise replied to SheSellsSeashells's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
You'll be in port with Enchantment of the Seas capacity: 2,252 guests (double occupancy) • 2,730 guests (total) They arrive first. I don't miss the opportunity to visit CoCoCay because it is a pretty beach. I do like to get in the ocean, typically if I am traveling with people I do that, otherwise I sit in a lounger in the shade and read a book and enjoy the view. I also tend to go to the Snack Shack and indulge in the chicken sandwich and the fried dough. Try the best of both worlds, go enjoy the ocean and then board early and enjoy the quiet ship. -
Pre-Cruising is So Stressful! (Final Days Advice)
Pattycruise replied to CruisingNewb's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Honestly, after my first cruise experience, where I walked around not knowing what I was doing/needed to be done, I would prefer to be highly organized than to "go with the flow" and later discover I missed out on things. It seems like you have thought of every scenario. The only thing I do (and I may have missed it) is I print the schedule of ports (time arriving/day of week/location/time departing) and what we are doing. I do it in columns, on color paper, so it can't get lost in the shuffle. I make a copy for everyone (my kids are separate cabins). It sure beat "what are we dong tomorrow? What time? This was only for planned excursions and of course the dinner time was noted as well as if it was formal night. As the planner I enjoy the planning however I hate being asked 10 different times daily "what's today/what's tomorrow". The app is for all the rest of the stuff.... As for paperwork. I paperclip their covid vaccine cards into the back of the passports and use an upside sticky note-sticking out and stuck into the info page of the passport-I write each family member name on the portion that sticks out and the sticky note makes it easy to open the page to the required info. I distribute the passports as needed and collect them all at once when they are reviewed. I also like to print out the set sail pass and the seapass and now the Covid test results as well-so we aren't fumbling for phones. I write each family member name in large print at the top of their papers, staple the individuals papers together those get passed out as well when we get to the appropriate line and collected once they pass through. My folder has the itinerary and calendar written on the outside along with confirmation #'s, contact numbers for airline, transportation etc (in case my phone craps out). All papers in my folder move from right to left. Airline papers start in the front, and move to the left when done-to become scrap paper and records in case it is needed. Next are the hotel reservations, then cruise papers, etc....Onboard they all get my predone schedule. By the end of the trip all papers should have shifted to the left. The folder fits in my large size pocketbook. The passports go into one of those smaller pouch type bags I can wear around my nect, or throw into my large pocketbook-it is an obnoxious color/decoration making it easy to find-my kids all recognize it for what it is should I ever lose site of it (has not happened in 15 years but you never know). When I don't travel with my family it goes to hell in a hand basket, but that's their problem. Typically things will go smoothly if I organize it. One of the few times it did not was a late night arrival (I had let the hotel know) and it turns out my credit card that I had to replace due to being compromised was no longer valid for my room, which they gave away-we were a party of 8. It was a HUGE hassle. So now I know to note the credit cards used for reservations and be sure if there was an issue after reservations were made to update the hotel. There is always something new to learn! -
Giovanni's Table on Adventure of The Seas Review
Pattycruise replied to Butch R's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
I’m drooling reading your review. Can’t wait for my Adventure sailing! -
You could also try facebook to see if there is a group for the sailing you are considering.

I had read on the facebook group for Royal Casino that the Wonder of the Seas would only be valid to book for complimentary cruises in March of 23. Apparently it needs to have been in service 1 year before you can book it for free. Not sure when you booked for. I would hope the casino booking staff could assist you to apply the booking to another free cruise or to apply the discount elsewhere.

First Time Cruiser to Bahamas

I like to bring my hammock style pool float for the beach at CoCoCay. Sounds like you might have things booked though. -
Prime: Family and Friends offer
Pattycruise replied to Ampurp85's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I had read somewhere and spoke with someone about that discount. It is 5%....assuming that is accurate. I would call the Casino # and press for a new booking and ask the question. 1888-561-2234 -
Disgraceful. Write a letter to customer service detailing your complaint and ask for compensation. It can’t hurt. A good company would offer something. And if you are still dissatisfied write again, address to the CEO so he knows what’s going on. reminds me of my honeymoon with Continental airline issue. We complained when we got to our destination and we’re told “something sweet will be waiting for you when you get home”. Well it was sweet, it was a lb of m&m’s in a gift box. We followed up with a letter and received vouchers towards a flight.

Cruise planner sale, I waited too long I guess
Pattycruise replied to TheRick's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Unfortunately Royal’s idea of a sale isn’t my idea of a sale! If you do purchase the deluxe package, or any cruise planner item you can cancel it and repurchase if it goes cheaper. as for the increase in price, weigh the cost of how much you think you’ll drink vs. current cost. Bottled water, specialty coffees, soda, cocktails. I know some heavy hitter drinkers that can easily hit $100 in drinks before 5pm. mixed drinks are $13 plus tax/gratuity.
