  1. @Matt I hope everyone is healthy and safe during this trying time.   I have a an FCC issue and wonder if escalation is my only recourse.  I had a family vacation that I paid for in full on one credit card for 7 people.  My 72 year old mom and 80 year old aunt were in one cabin that we had to cancel under the Cruise with Confidence plan because their doctors advised them to forget about cruising.   I am now fighting with RCCL as they do not want to offer the FCC to me although they are fully aware that I paid for all of the bookings and that I not only intend to cruise again, but already have another cruise scheduled for 08/22/2020.   Does anyone have any suggestions, work arounds or insights that could help?   I really appreciate the help this blog offers.  Thanks in advance.

With the way things in the news cycle are going today...........don't be surprised if you don't go anyway.

Yes I haven't paid for anything else yet as I am waiting on the news from the Presidents news conference.   Just holding everything in the cruise planner until tonight.

OMG that is horrible. I would be in a puddle of tears in the living room floor.  So, out of 30 people, only 2 are left ?

no only two cancelled,  because of their health and ages.  The rest of us  (28) are all planning to travel, so our group leader and I have been on the phone for hours getting things reinstated.  And the rep. lied and said they were going to comp our gratuities and then a supervisor said no.   I am trying to get over anger now because I want to give the crew the benefit of the doubt as I know this has to be a stressful situation for them as well.  But it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth right now. Thanks @Matt for having someplace where I can still see the good side of things.

  4. My entire group was still planning to travel 03/15/2020 on Anthem of the Seas and they cancelled all 30 of us because I had to cancel  my mother and aunt who are elderly!  They did not even call anyone  in the group to confirm this.  Just received a random email in the middle of the night showing all of our excursions, shows, dining plans cancelled.   After 5 hours of my life they have now at least restored my cabin reservations but i have had to rebook everything else and it cost an extra 15.00 per person now for the water park!   I am so angry right now I could scream.   How can you be so reckless to people who are still trying to  be  loyal?

    Hi there,

I need some assistance, we're booked to sail in Nov. on LOS.  We have an aft balcony booked on deck 10 and an interior on deck 6.  There are 2 adults and 2 kids - 12 y/o.  Can the girls stay in the interior cabin and the adults in the balcony?  I know we cant change the booking, but will the ship care?

Why would you allow your children to be that far away from you?   It's a ship, do you realize how many strangers will be between you, and your children?   Oh, and to answer your question, no the ship won't care until after the lawsuits begin. ?

When we had our abbreviated Anthem cruise in Feb (what started this whole mess !!), we were at 65% capacity and there was absolutely NO “ghost town” feeling at all.  It was a GREAT cruise.

That's because you two were on the cruise!  I follow your post on this site and I will testify that you all are my "ideal" of how to travel.   "if it comes let it, if it goes let it, enjoy the ride!"

I’m wondering if anyone else is unable to reach customer service ? I’ve called everything and get busy tones or so. I was trying to get in contact with them about a refund.

they are certainly working, you have to sit still and continue to hit redial!  also try calling one minute before they open.  Best of luck.  I was on hold today for  75 minutes today but I did get through.

I would like to request help from anyone departing any rcc cruises in the Caribbean in the next 3 weeks to report back to this site and inform others how it went and if you had any issues of passenger illnesses and if any port of calls refused ship passenger disembarkation. This would be so helpful to myself and many others.  Thank you in advance.  I have a cruise coming up in April,  and I intend on doing this for others.  Thank you.

Yep. Last month for my sons 18th. Princess cruises. They were brilliant. It was just the three of us. My nubby ave I took him as his gift.
This big cruise with RC is my parents last hoorah as they are both very sick. We’ve saved like crazy for it. Have been told by the travel agent since my post that we will not be refunded if we cancel.

They will offer future cruise credits though, I just had to do so for my elderly mom and aunt as this was the same situation and they cannot get doctors clearance.  Since I purchased the fares the rep advised the credit would be in my name.

We leave next weekend on Anthem.  No plans of cancelling and just pray none of us wakes up with a fever that day and no concerns while sailing where there is a quarantine.  But one thing got me thinking....should we cancel our excursion to Kennedy Space Center?   We are one of 2 ships in port (Norweigan Bliss) plus anyone else visiting Orlando.  I hear the place is usually quite busy.

What are others doing?  Going on as normal (with extra wipes and sanitizer) or are you considering cancelling excursions where there can be lots of people that might not have gone through such procedures as Royal?  Any any thoughts specifically to KSC?  I think some of it might be hands on so maybe we avoid those parts?  We have 2 kids so that is that part that would probably interest them.

P.S. - Up to when can you cancel an excursion?

You may cancel up to 48 hours prior

We are senior citizens who love to cruise however my wife is really upset about this virus scare and will not enjoy the 12 day cruise we have scheduled for this weekend.  Probably our 10th cruise we have taken on Royal Carribbean.  They aren't offering a  refund or credit for those uncomfortable. We would gladly accept a credit for another RCCL cruise in the future once this virus scare is over.  And I am sure many other seasoned cruisers feel the same way.  However if Royal Carribbean remains inflexible and forces us to go on a cruise in which she'll she'll never be comfortable -- with out regard to our health concerns and without the flexibility to reschedule with a credit, we will never go on any cruise by  Royal Caribbean.  So really they need to make a decision, offer me a credit for another cruise in the future or be inflexible and never sail with them again, ever.

Call them about the NEW 48 CANCELLATION RULE

So I see it says "A convenience fee of $7.95 applies to all items listed in the all-day menu and the American section of the breakfast menu." Would this be $7.95 for each item or $7.95 per order? Just curious incase I want to order while on the ship next month.

    Per order
