Not a problem just remember when the owner of the 4 device plan creates the username and PIN that will have to be shared by everyone so don't pick a PIN like your ATM card that you don't want everyone knowing.   Something like the last four digits of your phone number or any easy to share username and PIN will work.

    1-2-3-4?

That's the combination to my luggage!

Rhapsody. WAY smaller amount of upgrade availability....so just the fact that its been pending for a couple weeks is doing nothing but setting me up for disappointment. lol  My only sliver of hope, really, is that the hysteria and fear of, as @Ampurp85 calls it "beer virus", causes so many people to cancel cruises that I get that royal up! Fingers crossed.....

On our cruise there are available rooms now, all the way from interior guarantee to one of the Star Loft suites, where everything was showing as "sold out" for months, so part of me really thinks it might be possible to get a positive response on Royal Up. The families we're traveling with don't even have official room assignments yet (one with interior guarantee, one with balcony guarantee), so maybe whoever is doing the math on our cruise is on vacation.

I just won a bid for a grand suite on Oasis today. I bumped the suggested offer up about $250/pp and received the congrats email a few hours ago. I was more conservative on the loft & aqua theatre (like $150.00/pp more) and was passed up on all of them. All in for a family of four it’s a worthy upgrade from a JS to GS.

Congratulations on the upgrade. When is your sailing?

  4. I've never been, but here in Virginia there are a couple of breweries that have walls of machines that scan a card (on the ship, I'd imagine you use a Seapass card) and dispense beer. Kind of interesting and a way to try different beers before committing. The breweries charge based on how much you dispense rather than a normal soda machine that charges you $X for a cup which you fill. That seems to be roughly the same on Anthem - 2 oz (taster) and 5 oz ("glass") pours.

No idea how that will intersect with beverage plans. There are reports that it is not covered at all, then reports that it is covered (up to the normal limit). It would definitely tell you how much it costs before dispensing, though.

Report back and let us know. ?

Today has been a sea day and it’s been pretty lazy so far. We learned a valuable lesson about communication. We emailed our breakfast order to Smitha last night, ordering 6 scrambled eggs and 6 fried eggs to split among 4 of us. This morning, 12 plates of food arrived... we had 6 full orders of scrambled eggs with bacon, sausage, and hash browns. Plus 6 of the same with fried eggs. Whoops.

Haha, I wonder what she was thinking she she saw that order. Maybe that you had a sleepover? Or you guys are just really, really big fans of breakfast.

We were really confused by the towel animals left for us. Pretty sure one is a rabbit and have no idea about the other.

    Snake, maybe? Or a flowerpot....

    Hmm....

  6. Try the app, it should have the showtimes for the entire week and your current dining selection (whether that is early, late, or my time). If you don't have access to that, you could try to find a roll call for your cruise or there are sometimes Facebook groups for specific cruises.

You mentioned that you are free for dinner three days out of the seven. Check the planner, there is sometimes a three night dining package. That would fit nicely, but you will need to make those reservations onboard to make sure they fit with your group schedule.

    Enjoy the cruise!

Next up was the laundry area. We couldn't see all of it for some reason, I couldn't hear what he said very well. I did catch that their main washers have a 9 ton capacity. I should get one of those for my house, that will make laundry much easier.

Oh, hey, I would only have to do laundry twice a week. Not counting towels. ?

I asked our travel agent but she was unable to see any rooms for upgrade as they were all taken down or made unavailable at this time due to the RoyalUp process? She didn’t have access to anything to be able to give us any direct upgrade. Maybe I’ll call RC directly and see if they can do anything of the sort. It’s harmony of the Seas cruise that sails next month. And thank you!

I think Royal won't be able to help, as you booked through a TA. Just keep making her check, on our sailing (April) cabins have recently opened up, for whatever reason.

We bid the max bid on a junior suite and 1 bedroom grande suite about a month ago and have been frequently checking status (which said pending all this time). We log in today and are unable to and are bids are GONE and status has changed to “not eligible for upgrade”. Has this happened to anyone? We spent about an hour on the phone with Royal Caribbean trying to figure out why, what happened, some sort of explanation but were very unsuccessful. They know absolutely nothing. This is our wedding/honeymoon cruise. All of our guests bookings were eligible as well and their status of their bids all still say pending ? its just ours that has disappeared and we can’t get it back. Help!!

Royal Up is managed by a separate company, so calling Royal Caribbean probably won't generate an answer (at least, not a correct one). Did you ask if there were rooms available to upgrade to, and what the price would be? Directly, not through Royal Up. There have been other reports of being able to upgrade as inventory is made available for less than the price of bidding. When is your cruise?

PS: Congratulations on the pending wedding and honeymoon!

If you go to the CDC site and do the search, that's where you will find it as CDC will give you statistics. Correct on the 2020 part of the 2019-2020 season which totaled the 2,100 death so far for 2020 year.

Again, the CDC site does not agree with you, as the link above from KristiZ and brianmorris shows. If you provide the link to the article where you pulled that quote from it should clarify things.

Per the CDC: According to CDC, 4.6 million flu cases have been diagnosed so far this year (2020)—up from 2.6 million in early December...These flu cases have resulted in roughly 39,000 hospitalizations and 2,100 deaths from flu, according to CDC.

And the link? Because when I Google that phrase, I get an article from December 27, 2019. The CDC chart in the links above indicated that the uptick didn't start until January. Meaning the bulk of hospitalizations and deaths occurred in the 2020 part of the 2019-2020 flu season.

Note that I stated "2020" - Both of these numbers are from January 1, 2020 and fwd and does not take into consideration of those deaths from COVID-19 that are not being accounted for those disposed bodies that are and have not been reported by China.

UPDATE: COVID-19 death just changed to 2,162 reported deaths as two passengers aboard the Diamond Princess died which was just announced.

What is the source of 2020 flu deaths you're using? And is it worldwide?

I get that China is under-reporting - they under-report everything. But if you are saying that there have been only 2k "normal" flu deaths including China -  the number of normal flu deaths is also under-reported (China likes to report deaths using any underlying chronic condition instead of the acute disease that exacerbated it).

I don't know where you get your information from, but as of today:

    - 2020 Flu deaths total is 2,100

    - 2020 Coronavirus death total is 2,160

    ... surpassing flu deaths.

    1 minute ago, KristiZ said:

Actually, the CDC preliminary estimate of flu death in the 2019-2020 season 14,000 at the low end of the scale. Where did you see 2100?
    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm

And that's 14k in the US and 2160 COVID-19 worldwide.

  14. Not having to cook and then clean up the dishes is one of my favorite parts of vacation! That's not sad at all - for me vacations are about getting away from the normal routines and letting someone else do the stuff I don't like to do. Heck, just the fact that I don't have to figure out what to make that the whole family will eat is a bonus - everyone gets to order their own food! You want steak? Cool, get steak. You want chicken nuggets (again)? Go for it. But seriously, stop eating chicken nuggets for every meal. ?

That being said, sometimes the first homemade meal you make when you get home tastes the best. Right up there with sleeping in your own bed again. Enjoy the vacation!

  15. If the 3rd and 4th guests don't show up (which, they won't), their prepurchased onboard stuff should be refunded automatically. Not an ideal case, as you're fronting them the money for a month. As for how this happened, I would guess that instead of being creative, they copied the ages of the four people between the two rooms (if they had put in adults aged 18 you wouldn't be having this issue). If you TA can't change them to kids, they might change their birthdates to being under 21 for the cruise. That might also solve the problem. Good luck, and enjoy the cruise!

As far as I know there is no way to get a Bloody Mary delivered to your room unless you are Star Class.

That's interesting, as Bloody Mary's (I refuse to use the initials ?) and mimosas are on the room service menu - it just says that they are priced at "current bar prices + 18% gratuity". So it seems like you could get them delivered, they just wouldn't be included in the drink package.
