  1. Fortunately (knock on wood), we have never experienced that feeling. A coworker of mine sailed on Oasis about two years ago. She had the time of her life, but when she got off the ship she somehow developed vertigo and had dizzy spells for some time afterward (on and off for over a month). She won't step foot on another ship for fear of triggering the vertigo at this point (she's really bummed out). I was so surprised she had that experience on an Oasis class ship! I can only assume that in most cases, your body will naturally adjust to the normal, subtle movement of the ship. Maybe when you are back on solid ground, your body is still trying to anticipate and adjust to that subtle, usually imperceptible movement... I sometimes get that feeling for a few moments after riding simulator rides or roller coasters.
  2. Thanks for the beautiful pics @twangster! Amazing as always! My wife will love seeing these!
  3. Great... seems like the consensus so far. I believe Matt thought it was also disjointed and labeled it a "skip" on his Oasis review. I was not a fan of Blue Planet on Allure (also very disjointed in my opinion), so I'm not expecting much with this show. Not a knock on the talent of the performers, just the way they produced the show. I can't wait to see Flight on Symphony and Columbus eventually on Harmony!
  4. +1 on the 6-port version (with power cord). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P936188/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I like the 6-port version above because it has a power cord. Just from the pics of the 4-port model, it looks like it has to plug directly into an outlet which may pose a problem on the ship if there is little clearance between the outlets and top of desk, etc. The power cord allows you to use any standard outlet regardless of clearance.
  5. Here are a few articles on Mario... https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/01/opinion/cruise-caribbean-retirement.html https://cruisefever.net/royal-caribbean-1-cruise-passenger-super-mario-records-8000th-cruise-point/ https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2017/10/23/life-sea-interview-royal-caribbeans-top-cruiser-super-mario https://www.cntraveler.com/stories/2016-05-06/this-man-has-been-living-on-cruise-ships-for-twenty-years
  6. I hate those paper straws too... Maybe you can put the silicone straws in a ziplock bag so they stay clean while stored in your bag or pack? Ask for water (bottled water is included in DBP, or just get a glass of water) whenever you have drinks and sip through the straw to clean it out before putting them back in the ziplock... maybe rinse them more thoroughly back in your cabin or in a restroom? We may have to pick some up... not sure I want the stainless straws! We'll see... we still have a few months to decide!
  7. Have an amazing time! We'll be following for sure! 511 days until my wife and I sail on Symphony for the first time!
  8. It looks like it will be 81 tomorrow in Miami. Good luck and safe travels!!!
  9. Wow, iron stomach! ? Did you have the saffron risotto and lobster tails too? LOL!
  10. @Tanner... you are very welcome! Let me know if you have any other questions about these cabanas that maybe I can answer for you!
  11. We had an over the water cabana at Nellie’s Beach back in May... we got it for $521 (originally $579) on sale... Here’s the map... Here’s a pic of the first cabana in Nellie’s Beach on the right side as you enter the beach area (entrance is actually to the left of this pic)... We choose in the end (first come, first assigned the morning of arrival to Labadee) cabana “NW4” which was the farthest from the beach and most secluded on that same side (right side). Through the trees to our right was Barefoot Beach... you can see a service gate at the top of the hill to the right of our cabana... we climbed the hill to take a peek at the cabanas on Barefoot Beach. Nice view of the ship (second and third pic)... Some pics of our cabana... Our friend on the right in front of our cabana... REALLY nice... no neighbors to our right and the other cabanas to our left are lower in elevation... Be aware, some cabanas have ladder access to water which is a little steep and possibly dangerous for folks with limited mobility or for young children. You would want one closer to the beach or enter the water from the beach if the ladder is an issue... Some shots of the water in front of the cabana. The ship is just out of frame behind the brush to the right and can be completely seen when in the water. The other pics are of the cabanas across the beach from us... those cabanas would be on the left side of the beach as you face the water...
  12. ... very good point! That's why we haven't been able to justify it ourselves... we like the MDR for at least a few nights right now.
  13. Our planner also lists it @ $73.99 as @mworkman posted above. Amazing deal!
  14. Maybe RC should consider (across the fleet) changing the Key lunch from an embarkation day lunch to just a complimentary lunch similar to what they used to offer with the CP balcony staterooms (choice of Chops or Giovanni's/Jamie's and make the lunch reservation for any available day once onboard). Spread out the complimentary lunch since they're pushing the limits with the Key which forced them into the MDR. Something is going to give and hopefully they work it out by the end of next May before we go on Oasis... LOL!
  15. Hello! We personally haven't purchased it yet, but that looks very good... the cheapest I've seen it in our Cruise Planner (Oasis) to date was $175 ($25/day). The "Black Friday" sale on my CP is now higher at $199 ($28.43/day)... some sale! ?
  16. I guess it's like Mediterranean cruises. We were just checking them out for the fun of it as our cruise buddies just booked Allure for next year out of Barcelona. The cruise fare tends to be reasonable and comparable to Caribbean itineraries, but the airfare, hotel, etc., to get to/from the ship is about the same cost as the whole cruise! So envious... one day! That's why we "had" to jump on Oasis out of NY/NJ! Just gas and parking and less than a 90 minutes drive! Wow, we need to move closer to FL! Thank you so much for the awesome preview!
  17. I believe they have always been there... I walked out on them on Allure a couple of times last May, but it looks like they did a nice job sprucing the balcony up! On Allure, there is no table, chairs or plants (until next year I guess!). As @twangster mentioned, they were times that the door was hidden behind fire doors and you would never know the balconies were there when you passed by. I found that they were nice spots to take photos of CP!
  18. A slight tangent, but still related to Royal Up! Am I correct in understanding that if you win a bid to upgrade to a suite, you still will only receive 1 point per evening? That makes sense because, as you mentioned, folks that paid the full price for a suite would be more than a little annoyed!
  19. Royal eliminated the Boardwalk and Central Park balcony perks this year (you must know if you still had them!)... I take it you selected to keep the Dine, Drink, Discover over the $50 OBC when we were given the choice. If you failed to make a choice, it defaulted to the $50 OBC option. We decided to keep the Central Park balcony perks too for our 2021 cruise... I found this flyer online which outlines the old CP balcony perks.
