  1. Assuming we are fully checked in on the app, I expect that there will be a luggage drop off area, followed by a scan of your check in on your phone, a quick temp check, and then you will get on the ship. I assume your key cards will be in the room, or issued at some point during boarding.
  2. This is what bureaucrats do. Its why the government never does anything well. They are not comfortable making decisions, they like to enforce things.
  3. Even with the notation, you will want to let the onboard staff know that you are celebrating - It is hit or miss as to whether the reservation notation makes its way to the appropriate people. One suggestion is to participate in the "love and marriage" game.
  4. This would make sense with what my 14 year old's high school has observed. He has been attending since Sept and although there have been some cases, it has not been a whole lot - very few symptoms in those who did get it. The reality is that this is not really a group we need to worry about based on the actual case data. I know we need studies to confirm, but I believe at the end of the day it will be shown that non symptomatic cases generally do not transmit to others because they are not carrying enough viral load. With all things medical, there will always be exceptions.

  6. I think you are misunderstanding how the 90% numbers are derived and how herd immunity works. It means that if you are 100% exposed to the virus, you have less than a 10% chance of contracting it. It makes the virus very unlikely to spread among vaccinated people - especially if they have been tested before getting on the ship. Even if you did get it, it would not be a serious virus.
  7. I did also, but I'm in Texas so they are pretty much already on board.
  8. OK, I would think that RCI would have already stated the testing requirement since they did for under 18.
  9. You bring up a really good point. I booked A2S but am coming in the day before. I am wondering in RCI will help with arranging the tests. Do you know whether RCI or Bahamas government will accept the rapid test?
  10. I am at 22 points currently but will be Diamond within the next 2 years. 6/12/21 AOS 7 day - JS - 28 points 11/21/21 Oasis 7 day- GS - 28 points 3/13/22 Liberty 7 day - Balcony - 14 points 6/2/22 Allure 7 day - Balcony - 14 points 1/15/23 Allure 7 day - Balcony - 7 points currently If I am calculating correctly, I should be at 113 points with my current bookings.
  11. Thanks to all, good info. I think I'll stick to the Voom package and add the international day plan for pre cruise in Bahamas.
  12. I was looking at what it would cost to add international to my plan when I came across ATT's Cruise Package. Has anyone ever used this vs the ships Wifi? The price ends up similar to Voom, but it covers ports also. I would appreciate any input from someone who has used it. AT&T Cruise Packages – Cruise Ship Talk, Text & Data Plans
  13. The excursions that are in there are pretty bad. Half day only. I'm hoping they either add more choices or allow us to go on our own.
  14. My question was really more along the lines of what the requirements should be given that vaccines are required. Since both passengers and crew will be vaccinated, it seems like the requirements would be different than say the cruises in Singapore. My understanding is that the cruises out of Israel are requiring are using protocols similar to Singapore. Since all passengers are vaccinated, this seems excessive. I get the standards are not yet written, I am just wondering what people opinions/expectations are.
  15. I'm also hoping that we won't be wearing masks at Coco Cay.
  16. The cruises out of Israel still have pretty much full covid restrictions despite all passengers being vaccinated. Any thoughts on some of these being lifted by June? Since the CDC itself says that vaccinated people can gather in small groups(without masks), it seems that the full court press should give a little. I am booked on June 12 and will go either way Some I'd like lifted at a minimum. Masks outside - to me they should be restricted to inside places where social distancing cannot be maintained, or eliminated completely(I know this won't happen) Extreme social distancing, especially outside - I'm hoping that we won't be fighting over time at the pool.
  17. I'm booked on a 12/28 cruise. I'm hoping to go, but expecting it to be cancelled. I wish it would get resolved one way or the other at this point because I will make some other plan for the week if it doesn't go.
  18. Just checked in for my 12/28 cruise on Adventure of the seas. It felt good to check in! I put the chances at 25% at best, but I'm an optimist.
  19. Jr suites are considered Sea Class so you may have been upgraded. Did you get a room number?
  20. I'm picturing a mall food court type of set up.
  21. Any guesses on when RC will cancel cruises on Allure out of Galveston. I'm guessing it will move to Miami or Ft Lauderdale. If we have a booked room, do you think we would have the option of keeping the booking with the new port/itinerary?
  22. https://www.galvnews.com/news/free/article_3110ec89-1a5f-5cc1-a4f6-2d81dad146af.html Not good if you are booked on Allure out of Galveston (I am for March 2022)
  23. Besides checking for price breaks, does MEI offer any perks not available on RC website or the big travel websites? I have been mostly a book it yourself person but have been looking into having a travel agent.
