  1. UGH ! Oh well, hopefully eventually we'll get it back. What a complete disaster this has all been !!
  2. So glad to hear that things are ok in the end but BOY what a scare ! My best to you both and have a great time in Alaska. Take it EASY though !
  3. I'm no help here, Joe. I haven't sailed on Anthem yet. My first trip will be Feb. 2019 and then again Feb. 2020. I am also interested to find out the answer though....
  4. Coneyraven said it perfectly. While the merchandise at the Dockyard is pricey, it is also quality for the most part. This is NOT like a bunch of Caribbean shopping huts. These are true artisan shops so I would think that, as long as you're prepared for the prices, you will be fine. I purchased a lovely linen wrap a number of years ago b/c I had forgotten to bring one from home (and it is COLD in the ship casinos !!) and to this day it is my favorite even though I have dozens of wraps.
  5. It is my understanding that you have 60 days to transfer a booking to a TA BUT I have had them (Royal) make exceptions. The rule, however, is 60 days. Once a booking is paid in full it cannot be transferred.
  6. I didn't even know you could buy a fountain soda directly. LOL. I guess I'm such a Coke snob that I never even asked. It's a can or nuttin' for me !
  7. Wow. I'd love to know where you found a can of Coke for $1.95. The total tab for any can of coke I've purchased recently was north of $4.
  8. Not sure which offer Twangbot was using, but for us, the D+ laundry special is per person. So on any cruise, 5 days or longer, both Dan and I can get a bag of laundry done.
  9. Matt's exactly right. Sometimes the pre-cruise price, even if it does not include the 10% C&A discount, will prove to be less than the onboard price minus the 10% C&A discount. It's all a matter of experience and finding out which price is truly the best offer. Personally, I find the onboard port day special(s) to generally be the best deal. Since this price is already reduced, you cannot combine any other discounts with it but overall it is still the best option (or has been for me, in the past). I am D+ and I have never used a C&A discount b/c the onboard port day specials are always a better deal. Live and learn !
  10. I just booked our free cruises. B2B (8 days each) on Anthem in Feb 2019 in inside virtual balconies. My compromise is settling for inside rooms. Dans compromise is going out of Bayonne in Feb. We did a virtual balcony on NAV when they first came out. Not bad, really. Not sure how much I will like doing 2 weeks in an inside but I guess we’ll find out ! All we paid was taxes and port fees ($588 total) and $264 ($66 per person per cruise) to upgrade from a U2 to a U4. I didn’t want to be way up at the front of the ship. We are right near the aft elevators. I hope it’s not too noisy. First B2B and first Q class ship. Our next cruise on Anthem will be in Star Class in Feb 2020. Hope we like Anthem !
  11. Just go up to the Coastal Kitchen and make them directly. I have heard mixed results from JS guests being able to make dinner reservations for future nights. Apparently some ships only allow “day of” reservations. My guess is it has to do with how many Pinnacle members they have aboard on a given sailing. Worst case scenario, you would have to make reservations each day for that evening.
  12. I imagine they will make an exception for these few minutes. I once had an 11:55 AM flight out of FLL and they did it. Good luck !
  13. Just make sure that we get a photograph of you coming down the slide from upstairs. That will be a hoot !
  14. I have heard, recently, that the market in China had not been performing to the level that they had hoped. I imagine, however, that this new ship for China had been LONG on the drawing board and that, at this point, there was no reversing it. I guess we'll see if more ships are designated specifically for China, as we move forward.
  15. I'll be on her 9 days later on June 30
  16. The Radiance class ships still have a small theater, I believe. I don't know if they are systematically removing these or not. I hope they don't. I always enjoyed going there to see a movie.
  17. Hmmm... I'm still not convinced. Does it explicitly say that there is NOT a suites-only area ?
  18. You're more than welcome. There's nothing I enjoy chatting about more than the wonderful Star Class program. There are many nuances to this program and even after doing it 4 times I still find new things to consider. The popcorn at the theaters is included. Unfortunately, I have almost ALWAYS JUST finished eating whenever we go to any theater so I've never had the room to enjoy it ! I've heard of people having food delivered to them at the Suites sundeck cabanas (never thought of this one myself. Not even sure I would want to eat up there it can get SO hot !). I read that one guy had a private party in Vintages with food delivered from one of the specialty restaurants. This is something I NEVER would have thought of doing since Vintages is a completely separate venue, but apparently it wasn't that big a deal. It looked like they had a great time ! Enjoy the upcharge items b/c it's the only time you will ever have them included at no additional cost. AND you can also have any of the upcharge items delivered to your suite for dining in, too. On our last Harmony cruise I had the MDR surf and turf delivered on the night that Dan had his lamb shank. The lamb shank is the only MDR meal that Dan loves so we make sure we don't miss it. We almost always have it delivered to our suite so that we can ensure that we have at least one evening meal room service. After much experimenting, I have decided that the BEST meal to have delivered is breakfast. Since we stay out late (usually shutting down the casino) we sleep in and have a bad habit of missing breakfast. But with having a standing breakfast delivery order we don't have to worry about oversleeping breakfast. If you are an egg-eater just be SURE that you mention that you do NOT want MDR eggs or they will bring you the powedered crap that you get in the MDR or WJ. If you are on deck 17 the food always comes from the CK though and they only use real eggs there (or so I was told) so it isn't as big an issue. The one time I got powdered eggs was when we were in the 2 BR ATS so just be sure and tell them you want REAL eggs.
  19. On our last cruise on Allure, we had submitted the pix ahead of time but they re-took them anyway. I guess they didn't like the ones we submitted even though we had used these same pix before. Whatever. It doesn't take much time to have your picture taken. Don't mess with it if you don't want to.
