  1. You can order drinks at the restaurant and they will be covered by the package subject to the regular package limits.
  2. Are there children ? What are the ages ?
  3. I am not a pool person but I seem to recall that there are 4 main pools on the pool deck and a large hot tub in the Solarium. I know that the Harmony does not have a pool in the Solarium as it was a point of hot contention when the ship first came out.
  4. We just get sushi, sashimi and nigiri so I don't probably wouldn't have noticed that those weren't on the menu. Sorry
  5. We were just on Grandeur over the 4th of July and the menu at the Izumi on Grandeur is the same as it has always been. I cannot recall whether there is a difference between the Izumi menu on Grandeur and the Izumi menu on the O class ships but I don't really think there is any difference. I could be wrong. I don't pay that close of attention to such things.
  6. Yikes ! Hoping you did not get sick. Nothing worse. Well, yes, there is something worse - being sick and NOT being on a cruise is worse.
  7. White cards indicate that they are Pinnacle Crown & Anchor members. They have special access to such things.
  8. I agree with you that this nonsense with the website has gone on WAAAYTOOO long. I hate that I cannot see the reservation confirmation any longer (although, most of my bookings are with a TA and I could never see them for the TA bookings anyway) and I hate that I can no longer go directly to the AirtoSea site to check international flights. I hate that I cannot get from the logged-in My Cruises to the check-in section (you now must go through Already Booked without being logged in, which is utterly RIDICULOUS). The new website is WAAAY worse than the old one and still contains so many glitches that it is utterly frustrating. This level of inefficiency does not give one a sense of confidence in the company, overall. In this day and age there is just no excuse.
  9. They certainly have liquor vendors in the compound at COZ but I'm doubtful that these would have the best prices. My favorite part of COZ is to go downtown and walk around anyway; my guess is that there are plenty of places to find some good tequila at the city square, downtown. I know that there is a tequila factory somewhere (we keep threatening to do that tour but have not done it yet. Maybe in Sept. when we are on Liberty !). I'll bet it's not hard to find....
  10. I understand your concern. There ARE a lot of scary stories out there about "excursions gone wrong" and sketchy parts of town, etc. ...but I will say, that excursions booked through the cruiseline have extremely good reputations. If the excursion company did not offer their customers a safe and enjoyable experience, Royal Caribbean (and all of the other cruiselines) would not use them and the companies would go broke without their business. As far as Jamaica goes, just stick with a ship's excursion and don't be wandering around out in Falmouth by yourselves. Everything will be fine. You and your children will be safe and have a great time !! For COZ, you have nothing at all to worry about. That is a very safe port.
  11. I have a little piece of possible evidence for this thread. Ever since I booked my Grandeur Canada & New England trip for Sept. 2019, this cruise (C & NE) was always listed second in the list of cruises for September 2019 with the Bermuda & Bahamas cruise always first....meaning that the Bermuda & Bahamas cruise was slightly less expensive than the Canada & NE cruise. Now, they have renamed the Bermuda & Bahamas cruise to Bermuda & Perfect Day cruise and it is now second on the list, meaning that it is now more expensive than the Canada & NE cruise. Granted, it's only a $5 difference, but they have reversed positions after being the other way for a long time. This would tend to indicate that the price on the Perfect Day cruise has increased. I cannot verify this as I never tracked the prices on this cruise. I am booked on the Canada & NE cruise but I CAN verify that the price on the Canada & NE cruise has not changed since I booked it so logic would indicate that the price has to have changed on the other (Perfect Day) cruise.
  12. I remember now....thanks. I was getting on as you were getting off.
  13. What date was your Grandeur Bermuda cruise, Sweety ?
  14. You will receive double points for your first cruise. They will appear on your C&A account about 1 week after you complete the cruise. I’m not sure, however, that the enrollment takes place automatically. I believe you still have to manually open the C&A accounts. This can be done prior to your cruise at which time your status would be “pre gold”. Maybe they have changed things and enrollment is automatic these day. You used to have to open the accounts yourself. In the “old days” you could not even open a C&A account until you had completed at least 1 cruise but I know that has changed so maybe they automatically open an account for you these days.
  15. Everyone pays the gratuities. You can either prepay them or they will be charged on a daily basis to your account and they will appear on your final onboard bill. In the past, those who opted for My Time Dining were required to prepay their grats but that rule changed a couple of years ago. Now, everyone has the option of either prepaying their grats or paying them onboard....but everyone pays the grats unless you specifically challenge the gratuity and opt out of paying.
  16. What a great family ! You all look so happy to be there ! Thanks so much for sharing.
  17. Unfortunately, you cannot place yourself on the upgrade list. Either the cruise line will call you and offer the potential for an upgrade or they won’t. It’s a crap shoot.
  18. On our recent Grandeur sailing there was a Top Tier event one evening. To my knowledge that is the only loyalty event that we had. Typically we don’t attend these events but we went to this one. I don’t believe they even have the Welcome Back parties anymore, do they ?
  19. Wow ! I didn't even know we had a hurricane out there ! Good luck and be careful.
  20. I did this MANY years ago and we enjoyed it. I have no idea what the cost is these days. I wouldn't pay for it again but I think it was fun to do it once.
  21. For our Grandeur cruise that ended yesterday, we ate breakfast as soon as they opened the MDR (6:45 AM), went back to our room and gathered our things and walked off the ship at around 7:30. We walked directly up to Customs and were off the ship in 5 minutes. They do expect you to be out of your room by 8AM as Twanbot noted. If I recall seeing the schedule correctly, I think they were allowing walk-offs until around 8:30 at which time they would start calling luggage tag numbers. Yesterday's was one of the easiest disembarks we have ever had. Only the Genie made it more enjoyable !
  22. To add to fonemanbob's comment above, if you go to Next Cruise while you're on a cruise that was booked through a travel agency, your next cruise booking will automatically be given to the same agency that you booked your current cruise with. So, if you are inclined to change your TA for the next trip, make SURE that you tell the Next Cruise agent that you do NOT want your Next cruise booked through the current agency. It is very difficult to have the booking switched over to a different agency. In fact, some agencies will not do it at all and then there are hard feelings. If you are happy with your TA then there's no problem but if you want to make a change, do not forget to tell them NOT to give the new booking to the old TA.
  23. I've only had 1 experience with this. One of our group paid for their cruise in full at the time that they booked it (rookey mistake !) and tried to have it moved over to our MEI agent. Since the cruise had been paid in full (even though it was well within the 60 days AND well before final payment date) they were not allowed to move it since it had been paid in full. Maybe they sometimes make exceptions to this rule but I don't personally know of any.
