  1. Twangbot is right. No photography of any kind for the shows here on Lib. They do state that in the pre show announcements
  2. I will hijack my own thread and turn this into a kind of mini review of this week’s Liberty cruise. This is the first cruise EVER where the ships water was skunky. It just has a weird taste. Thankfully we both have the drink pkg so we have been drinking bottled water. We have an absolutely gorgeous Owners Suite which we got at a steal. It was originally a comped balcony from the casino which I was able to upgrade through the casino folks to a JR suite and then finally to the OS. I have no idea how I got so lucky but it was just $498 total AND they did not charge us the increased suites daily gratuity (we had already prepaid the normal daily grat) so I’m just marking this one up to being in the right place at the right time and lucking out with the right Club Royale agent on the other end of the line. The room is perfect. Great location, great size and configuration and of course, all of the wonderful suites amenities. The only negative thing about the room is that the mattress is as hard as a rock. The room attendant has put mattress pads and duvets on it but it’s just....hard. Dan says that this is his favorite room of all time which includes the 2 BR Aqua Theater Suites and the Star Loft. We’ve decided that a bidet is a must-add at home. Lol I have pix but no way to post them until I get home Saturday Night Fever was ok. We both thought it was a little bit long. It was nice to have a new show to see. The ice show (Encore) was good...typical of the ice shows on other ships. Haven’t gone to any other shows. We went to Johnny Rockets for lunch today. The cover charge was $11.74 per person which was $9.95 ea plus grats. Since we both have the DBP we got the milk shakes for nothing. Score !! We asked the question of whether, if we had the Unlimited Dining Pkg (which we don’t) if JR would be included and she told us “yes” so JR is included in the UDP. The shakes are only included if you have the DBP. The internet has been horrible. It drops every couple of minutes and I have lost a number of posts to this site as a result. I purchased it in combination with the drinks pkg but will likely not do so again based on my experience this time. We we have a 5 night dining pkg and have gone to Giovanni’s twice, Chops once, Sabor once and will go to Sabor again tomorrow night. We had 1 dinner in our suite from the MDR (lamb shank) and we’re going to lobster night tonite in the MDR so we will be eating in the MDR just once on this cruise. The suites breakfasts are in Giovanni’s on Liberty and there is a suite lunch in Giovanni’s on sea days although we have not made it there yet. Maybe tomorrow. We never got off the ship since it sailed but the ports were Coz, Grand Cayman and Falmouth. We had originally planned to go to Rose Hall Plantation in Falmouth but decided to just stay on the ship and it was probably a good decision since the weather turned against us in the afternoon. Those that we chatted with in the evening said that they weren’t allowed to go in the water due to lightning and then the trip back to the shop was a wet one so we’re glad we decided to stay put. Other than the day in Jamaica, our weather has been beautiful. The seas are like glass today.
  3. Ok. I’ll do it. For us Amerkans, what is a “chav” ?
  4. We had to do that on our Grandeur cruise in July as we could not get to the cruise docs to get to the real tags. They worked fine !
  5. I saw the lion guy (whatever his name is) on the Promenade this morning on Liberty
  6. ...and all others who love Red Velvet Cake. We went to dinner last night at Chops (we are on Liberty) and when it was time for dessert, I was anticipating the Red Velvet Cake. Much to my disappointment, I was informed that the RVC has been removed from the menu ! I don’t know if this is just for Liberty or if it is fleet-wide. I settled for the apple pie ala mode, completely forgetting that their apple pie contains raisins <shudder> so I had the 1-2 punch of the extreme disappointments of no RVC and having to dig those noxious nodules from my second choice dessert.
  7. Not when you’re in an aft cabin on an O class ship ! If you get on the wrong side on an O class you have TRIPLE that looooong walk to get to your room !
  8. Nonsense ! We do land cruises all the time ! ??
  9. We cruise nearly very Christmas and when possible, include NY as well. We love cruising during the Holidays. It is expensive, there are lots of children and they do sell out quickly but we love it. We are on Grandeur this Christmas and NY (just made final payment!) and there are no dining packages offered at any price on this cruise (I know you don’t usually book specialty restaurants anyway). I think this is the norm these days. They jack the prices up on specialty dining and add some small amenity to justify the cost. They have a few “exclusive” events on Christmas and NYE which are generally reserved seating with some small amenities (sparkling wine, etc) which are very expensive. Even with all the special pricing, we still enjoy Holiday savings. I do, however, recommend that you book your Holidays sailings EARLY. You will find the prices just go up and up. We book as soon as they open up. We will be on MSC Seaside for Christmas 2019.
  10. We are on Liberty this week in an Owners Suite and the bed is VERY hard. I am going to ask my attendant to place some duvets on top of the mattress and hopefully it wii help.
  11. It’s a long walk lol the way aft on an O class ship even if you DO have a Genie !
  12. We are on Liberty now (in Coz) and I will say that the internet service has been disappointing. It drops continuously and I feel certain that streaming would be impossible.
  13. The Krazy Lobster is in Mahaual which is the very small town just outside the port. You can catch the shuttle over but must take a taxi back. I have no idea why the shuttle only runs one direction. The KL has chairs, loungers and hammocks right on the beach, has great food and has Coronas for $1. There are massage stations right on the beach that offer a 1 hour massage for $20. If you want to do a massage do NOT allow anyone to arrange that massage for you. They will double the price. The only downside of going to the beach at Mahaual is that there are many wandering peddlers selling their trinkets. They are easy to dismiss by respectfully saying “no thank you” but it does get annoying when they continue to wander around all day long.
  14. Just in case your wife IS reading this, may I recommend Dynasty Dazzlers. They are both in town and in Havensight.
  15. Liberty, Sept. 2. YIPPEE !!! Owner's Suite for $498 (casino comp upgrade) !
  16. Sometimes, if an excursions is very popular and they (the tour operator) have the ability to, they will add an additional excursion of the same type. I've only heard of this happening on very rare occasions but I have heard of it happening.
  17. Unfortunately, you cannot do this. I wish you could. Since all of these packages require a night 1 or 2 reservation and in some cases (BOGO) both night 1 AND night 2 reservations, you cannot combine them this way.
  18. While I understand this to be the reality, I think it is a bit deceptive for RC to advertise the CK as a JS perk when it apparently isn't. If it's based on the leftovers after the suites have gotten all they want, then they need to advertise it that way. It's kinda like flying standby. If there's a seat for you....great ! If not, you go somewhere else.
  19. Wow...what a coincidence. I know 2 people JUST like this !
  20. I completely agree with KLA. Sabor on the O class ships is a far cry from the full service Sabor on the Freedom class ships, IMO and good for a snack and a margarita but in no way a celebration destination. Samba Grill is one of the big disappointments of my recent cruise history. We were on Allure for her second sailing ever (2009) and went to Samba Grill. It was a wonderful experience. The place was beautifully decorated, there were exotic Brazilian style dancers who put on a show, the food was good if not great. We sailed Allure again this past April and what a letdown. No table linens, no dancers and the food was very mediocre. I have moved from a "recommended" to a "no way" vote on the Samba Grill. So I also recommend Giovanni's and 150 CP for your BOGO. Giovanni's is solid (I do not care for Jaimie's Italian much so enjoy Giovanni's) and 150 is very very good. I love the salts from around the world !
  21. I guess this comes as a surprise to me. I always had the impression that Celebrity was pricier than RC. I admit that I have never done the research to confirm that...it was just an impression.
